Tues, 28 April, I noticed the first floor bath?s ceiling had little paint bubbles forming. I called Nice Guy Plumbing and Handyman Service because they had very good reviews and I liked the company?s name. I set up the appointment for the next day; however, due to an emergency, I had to move the appointment to Thursday, which the plumber understood and was agreeable to.
Thurs, 30 April - Mr. Guy Heller arrived on time and checked the pipes in the upstairs bath which was situated in a dormer directly over the first floor bath but saw no leaking or moisture anywhere. We made arrangements for him to return Monday, 4 May, as he said the ceiling of the downstairs bath was soft in one area and he wanted to open it up for further examination.
Mon, 4 May ? Mr. Heller cut a hole in the bath ceiling and disposed of wet drywall and insulation. He did not find any leaks in and around the HVAC runs and said he would come by Wednesday to see if the area was drying.
Wed, 6 May ? Mr. Heller reported the area drying so it was not a plumbing problem. He was going to stop by again Monday as rain was predicted the next few days. It did rain and I took film, which I showed to Mr. Heller on Monday, 11 May. It was definitely a roof problem and the movie showed exactly where.
Mr. Heller came to the house five times to ascertain whether plumbing or roofing was the problem, but he could have left some of that up to me. He came those subsequent mornings because of his thoroughness in determining and ultimately solving a problem for an appreciative client.
FOOTNOTE: Several weeks later, a water supply hose connection broke under the kitchen sink. After going from store to store and not finding the part I needed, I called Mr. Heller. He couldn?t come as he was away on vacation but would check back with me when he got back, which he did. A concerned professional.
Mr. Heller is very polite, amicable, and comfortable to talk to and work with. When he says he is going to do something, he does it and at the time agreeable with the customer. I maintain an enclosed private feral cat colony with several cats in the house that he was friendly with and talked to. If he was not a cat devotee, it certainly didn?t show.
I would not hesitate to call Mr. Heller for plumbing and other homeowner problems requiring attention that were in his areas of expertise. He?s not just a plumber and handyman. He?s like a favorite uncle!
"Geoff is reliable and fair priced. He responds quickly and is easy to work with. Geoff completely remodeled our bathroom and installed track lighting in our kitchen. He completed an few other projects for us as well. Additionally our neighbors hired him for a bathroom remodel."
"ASAP sewer and drain were fantastic! They fixed our main sewer line clog and explained to us what was causing the problem and kept the areas the worked in clean. They offered recommendations to prevent the issues from happening again in the future. We couldn’t be more happy with the services they provided and We highly recommend Them!"
"He was courteous, and compassionate. He located the pipe that was leaking, and replaced the pipe. He even installed me a access panel, which will definitely come in handy. His price was definitely affordable and his professionalism was truly "Awesome"."
"Nigel showed up when he said he would, had the proper tools and equipment to install my off-brand faucet/sprayer. Due to the age of hook up under the sink, he also had to install an inside cut off valve. He preformed everything correctly and completely. He cleaned up afterwards and left everything better than it was prior to him starting. He had everything done within 30 minutes. I am very pleased and will be using his services in the future."
"We used A1 exterminators for several years. In the beginning we used them to change the dehumidifier filters. We started using them because the previous owners had used them to redo the crawl space and install a the humidifier. At some point we also started using them for pest control. We did their Guardian Plan from beginning. The guys they sent over were nice and courteous and always helpful. We were pleased with service until we were selling our home and records of services provided were requested and they refused to give them. We were needing information on if they had caulked some cracks in the foundation when they sealed everything when the dehumidifier was installed. I even had the previous owner call and give them permission to release this information. They accused me of trying to get information out of them that didn't belong to me. Funny thing is, there were absolutely no issues, but they were immediately defensive and accusing me of being in a bad place with our buyers. She talked over me to the point and was so rude, I told her to shut up. That was the end of anything I ever wanted to do with them. Had the owner of this company not been the rudest person I have ever dealt with in my life, I may have left them a good rating. Based on how she treats a customer of 4 or 5 years, I could never recommend them to anyone. Read their reviews yourself. Their bad customer service speaks for itself. When I mentioned this company to the buyers real estate agent, he confirmed that they weren't reputable as did the escrow company that did our closing."
If you need to repair part of your plumbing, it will cost an average of $330. The cost of plumbing repairs is influenced by several factors, including the type of drain and the specific repair needed.
If you have the patience and help to install a kitchen sink, you can do it yourself. This DIY project works best when replacing a sink that fits the existing hole, and the fittings and plumbing are in good condition. If you're worried about the plumbing's condition or aren't sure how to shut the water and power off to the garbage disposal and dishwasher, it's best left to a sink installation pro.
Yes, there are different size sink drains, but a 1 ½-inch-diameter drain is the most common modern drain size. However, some sink drains are 2 inches or 3 inches in diameter. A bathroom sink drain is 1 ¼ inches in diameter, and kitchen sink drainpipes are 1 ½ inches in diameter.
The cost depends on the parts, labor, extent of damage, and whether extensive plumbing modifications are required. Typical repairs cost $150-$300.
Porcelain and enamel sinks have very similar appearances, but they aren’t the same. Porcelain is a ceramic made from natural clay, while enamel is a strong powder that’s glazed over a metal sink. Use a magnet to determine whether you have an enamel or porcelain sink. If a strong magnet sticks to the sink, it’s likely enamel. If it doesn’t, you probably have a porcelain sink. You can also use the model number on the sink (often found on the underside of the bowl) or information from the manufacturer to determine the material.
