Recently I engaged Andy to service our well-water acid neutralizer tank, because I questioned the reliability of service by another company 13 months earlier. Andy tested our water and found that its pH value was 6.97, which was consistent with previous readings over the past six months when he did other work for us. Because our well-water pH is essentially neutral, Andy explained the acid neutralizer tank is not necessary. He offered two options: 1) remove the tank (thus leaving us with only the water softener tank) or 2) empty it, which option I selected. He also reduced the cost of the service call. Andy’s approach starkly contrasts with the other company that for years took advantage of an unsuspecting customer by charging almost $300 to “service” the tank and unnecessarily adding expensive calcite. "I was very impressed with the customer service I received from Appleton Campbell.  The technician that was sent to my house (Michael) arrived on time and spent a lot of time with me going over the various options for my 80 gallon electric water heater replacement.  Michael also took the time to test my well water for me (At no charge) and brought it to my attention that my water was very acidic and that my neutralizer tank was not working properly.  I plan to call Michael back in the next few weeks to have them service my neutralizer tank.
Unfortunately as of April 2015 they are no longer making 80 Gallon water heaters so I was  unable to use this company for the installation.  Michael did provide me with other alternatives to an 80 Gallon tank but the new Hybrid systems are out of my budget and a 50 gallon water heater will not cut it for the size of my house. 
Michael and Appleton Campbell have been added to "My Favorites" on Angie's List and plan on using them in the future for other services/projects.
