Small jobs welcome

"Scope of work: Rip approximately 3,000 sf of asphalt driveway & replace with concrete and brick edging. A few times in our lives we get lucky and meet professionals who are competent, honest, and keep their word. Keith and his crew were simply awesome. Keith assessed, recommended, arrived and completed the project as promised. Keith led his crew for both days of the operation whose attention to detail was impressive and appreciated. He accommodated any changes and modifications during the process with relative ease and honesty. The crew did not damage any items on the property and cleaned the area when done. I had the privilege to witness the entire process and amazed at their teamwork, timeliness and courtesy. A surprising outcome is the the number of unsolicited positive reviews by neighbors, friends and family who see Keith's result. I enjoin all others to consider Keith's Company for any concrete work. I also welcome anyone considering concrete projects to see driveway and will send pictures if needed. Personal thanks to Keith & Crew. Godspeed. Gids & Cathy"

"Joe and the crew from E Stanley did a great job widening our driveway. The job consisted of three parts. First, dig under the existing driveway and remove the roots that were growing underneath. Second, dig a couple of feet on both sides of our existing driveway to widen it out. Finally, pour asphalt on top of the driveway to replace the old one. Joe came in at the best price and finish the entire job in a single day.."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Gravel is the most economical and least expensive driveway material, costing between $1 and $3 per square foot. This is significantly cheaper than alternatives like asphalt or concrete. However, it's important to consider long-term costs, as gravel driveways require regular maintenance. You will likely need to add new gravel filling once or twice a year and regularly rake it to keep it level, which can add to the overall cost over time.

At a depth of two inches, a ton of asphalt covers around 80 to 100 square feet. However, the thicker the asphalt, the less surface area it will cover. That’s why measuring correctly is essential when estimating asphalt needs and costs to ensure you get enough material to cover your entire driveway, patio, or other asphalt surface.

Asphalt driveways last anywhere from 15 to 30 years, but if you don’t stay on top of repairs, you may find yourself spending extra to replace your driveway before its typical lifespan. Stay on top of repairing cracks and potholes by routinely inspecting your driveway once or twice a year. It’s a good idea to pressure wash your asphalt driveway at least once a year to keep it clean. Apply a sealer every one to five years, based on your climate.

New asphalt goes through two stages: drying and curing. Drying typically takes 24 to 72 hours, after which the surface is solid enough for light use like walking or careful driving. While you may be able to park on it after 72 hours, the surface is still soft and should be treated gently. Full curing is a much longer process, taking anywhere from 30 days to a full year for the asphalt to reach maximum strength. During this extended curing period, the asphalt is susceptible to damage from heavy vehicles, sharp objects, and high temperatures. Factors like weather, the specific asphalt mix, and application thickness all influence drying and curing times. For the most accurate timeline and to ensure the longevity of your new asphalt, it is always best to consult with your installation contractor for their specific recommendations.

Your driveway contractor will probably recommend that you avoid driving on your new millings driveway for up to a week. Keeping pressure off the freshy applied millings will help the driveway to bind together. While the sun is helpful for binding millings, hotter weather can actually make the curing process take longer.
