I hired NV to extend my kitchen and remodel it, I am highly satisfied with their services. The team was professional. They answer all my questions on the initial consultation meeting. The architect and designer took the time to listen to my ideas and be able to design the extension and kitchen. Project manager communicated with me regularly and kept me updated on the progress of the project. The extended and remodeled kitchen looks really nice. The team paid close attention to every detail, ensuring that the final product was exactly what I had envisioned. Overall, I highly recommend this company for any kitchen extension and remodeling needs. They are professional, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality results. Thank you for making my dream kitchen a reality

If I had to rate between 1 and 10, I would give Global Renovations and Naveed (Founder) a solid 11. They renovated entire house from plumbing to electrical to adding and/or removing walls, creating rooms, enlarging and remodeling bathrooms and kitchen adding closets etc etc... Naveed was a pleasure to work with in every way! His team was very nice and respectful of our property as well! We will definitely hire again for any future projects! A+

Elite Contractors Services Inc

Choosing a contractor was as difficult as it was frustrating in the beginning. Many places were unresponsive, too “busy” or would only take your project if you’d spend “X” dollars. I hated this process and thought it would never end, but that was until I came across Elite Contractors Services on Angies. Their gallery on Angies doesn’t speak to the true breadth and diversity of work he has done (I’ve told him, he needs to put more photos up, LOL - a little joke between him and I) but after working with him I understand why he hasn’t; he and his wife are busy responding to and making sure his customers are happy. We met Ken soon after engaging him. He is a very pleasant man with a wealth of experience and knowledge in the construction industry, and although he loves to have a good laugh he’s also a straight shooter, which I greatly appreciate. To have a General Contractor be as responsive and interested in your project was a breath of fresh air; even better was that he continued this responsiveness throughout the entire project! Once we had a contract established Ken put us in touch with his excellent Architect Ned. With his excellent eye for design and helpful suggestions, we were very pleased with our final design and couldn't be happier. We were ready and so was Ken. Some preliminary engineering checks were performed on our foundation and it was discovered that we didn’t have sufficient footers to support a second-story. Ken gave us the options we had and so we moved ahead with the additional scope of underpinning our foundation and lowering our basement by two feet since the slab would be destroyed. It was January 2022 at this point and even with supply chain constraints (especially with wood), COVID and inflation craziness Ken as he was somehow ahead of the curve and prepared enough with our project to be able to provide us with a 6 month estimate for everything to complete (July timeframe). I was skeptical to say the least and especially anxious because I had a construction loan with an interest rate lock banking on this man’s estimate. The underpinning was completed in two months as promised, all done by hand, insane!! The second story began and we were able to meet the entire Elite Contractors Service’s family! The workers Ken employs are all amazing people and excellent professionals who work exceedingly hard and put their heart and souls into their craft. They were also so efficient, they ripped off our old roof, and put up the new roof within a week. and even though they didn’t have to during those few days in between, they placed a huge tarp over our place to protect our home. I felt they treated our home as if it was their own home. In comparison, a house down the street from us was roof-less for a month before they got their materials in to build; meaning it was exposed to the weather and elements. During the project I was introduced to Ana Blanco, Ken’s better half who helped us with expenses, material purchasing such as tile, vanities, fixtures, lighting etc. She was super sweet, helpful and made that process straightforward and worry-free. When the finishing touches were ready to be made, Ken’s team were once again so helpful. They would ensure every detail was accounted for, especially specifics, such as mirror, light heights, or the placement of vanities for example. They painted and touched up spaces part of renovation, but also spaces that were affected indirectly by construction, and of course corrected any issues you had immediately. Ken called this his “Elite Treatment”, and Elite it was! My wife and I put our faith in Ken wholeheartedly, and we are glad we did, even with a few ordering issues and special orders he and his team were still able to hit the promised 6 month mark almost perfectly! I think Ken’s new nickname ought to be the “Magic Man.” We feel blessed to have Ken and his team on the job for home renovation, because not only did we make our home beautiful we were able to make a few friends along the way

Excellent-Ben listened to everything I wanted in the project, and came up with a wonderful design. It was a very interactive process to make sure the project met my objectives for the property. He also handled all of the permitting, which went through smoothly.

Dave did a wonderful job helping us re-build our house. Starting from the design, permits, foundation, framing, and all the way until we got our occupancy permit. We are glad we worked with Dave for this big project, he made the process more easy with the help of his knowledge and support. We definitely recommend him to all our friends and family for any of their contracting needs

We had a great experience with Ken and his team on our Rosemont, Alexandria expansion project. After sketching out what we wanted, we met with several contractors to request bids. Not only was Ken’s bid competitive, but he suggested several significant changes to the plans that we ended up incorporating into our design. The entire design / build process was fast and efficient, and we are extremely pleased with finished product. Throughout the construction, Ken was onsite daily and responsive to any issues that came up. It was clear that Ken has a wealth of experience in the field and enjoys what he does. I can’t say enough good things about the crew – they were friendly, talented, and professional. Their attention to detail was impressive and they went above and beyond in all aspects of their work. We also enjoyed working with Ana on the kitchen and bath design and finish selections. At the end of the day, Elite Contractors Services exceeded our expectations, and we hope to work with the team again on another project

Graves Design & Remodeling Inc

My wife and I are extremely satisfied with the work completed by Graves Design and Remodeling. We offer our strongest recommendation that you consider Graves for your future home projects. We hired Graves to complete a master suite remodel, which included a full bathroom renovation, and annexing a bedroom to create a spacious walk-in closet and home office space. From the first conversation we had with Graves to the last day of the job (and beyond), we were treated like family. I cannot emphasize enough how important that is when dealing with a design and build firm. My wife and I had never hired a design and build firm before, or undertaken a remodel on this scale. The Graves team was patient, efficient, neat, respectful, trustworthy, and fair. The work product was catalogue worthy. Our project commenced at the outset of the Covid19 pandemic. The Graves team responded by taking extreme precautions to protect everyone’s health and safety. Despite some pandemic-caused supply delays, our project finished ahead of the estimated completion date. Towards the end of our master suite remodel project (but unrelated to it) we experienced other homeowner issues which required soffit and gutter work. I didn’t think twice about what to do in that situation: I immediately called Graves, who promptly scheduled the work to be completed. Their responsiveness is unmatched. If you are so lucky to be able to work with Graves, you should look forward to Caroline’s beautiful design work, Chris. M’s customer-first attitude as a project manager, and Doug’s masterful experience as a general contractor. As a team, they are remarkable. We look forward to working with Graves again and again

The project went very well, from start to finish. It stayed within budget, and the team was responsive and pleasant to work with. The work was extensive - they excavated and installed a new egress window, installed new lighting, switches, and outlets, built in a closet, installed and painted new drywall, installed new padding and carpet on the floor. The attention to detail and commitment to the project exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend Graves Design and Remodeling to anyone looking for a home improvement contractor

"Marks-Woods team was fantastic! Highly communicative, creative, attentive and punctual. They had great ideas when it came to the layout of our small kitchen to maximize storage. When it came to finishes, they provided great options that fit within our budget and took our kitchen to the next level. They recommended adding a feature wall and certain moldings that were true to our historic home's aesthetic. They were fantastic when it came to transforming our unfinished carpark into a drive that was designed so beautifully, we use it as a patio as well! Would definitely work with them again!

"During the normal inspection for a home purchase, the inspector found a crack in an exterior wall and suggested we consult a foundation expert. The foundation person we contacted looked at pictures of the crack and said that we needed the expertise of a structural engineer. He referred us to Andres Carvallo of Soil & Construction Consulting, who was wonderful. We had a tight timeframe to complete the inspection. We contacted Andres on a Monday morning; he replied promptly and found time to inspect the home that afternoon. His inspection was thorough and thoughtful. He determined that there was a water drainage issue, and he looked for similar problems elsewhere in the home. He provided us with a comprehensive solution and a price estimate to give to the seller for negotiation purposes. He also answered all of our questions with patience, which we greatly appreciated.
The cost of the assessment was $350, but a written report was extra $75, which we paid. I gave this firm all A ratings except for Price because other outfits seem to include a report in their comparable $350 fee. That said, we were so pleased with Andres' work that it was worth it.
I'm not sure what is going on with the other review of this firm, but it looks like it should be removed from Angie's List. Our experience was extremely positive.

"We selected DMV based on our previous experience with the company starting with Rolando who successfully remodeled our kitchen and 3 baths back in 2015 and with Javier in remodeling of 1 bathroom, construction of an outdoor shed, and finally remodeling of our 1st and 2nd floors. For details on this more recent 2022 project consult my review elsewhere on Anji. . The construction area consisted of two sides of the basement--the “finished” side for an office *** guest room plus a small hallway; the other, a larger “unfinished” side for storage. The project began by moving everything in the small hallway to other parts of the house. Then they cleared what would be the “finished” side of the basement moving the sofa bed, several desks, 3 bookcases, a couple office chairs, a table, several bookcases, 7 file cabinets, clothes and other items from the closet, and numerous boxes of books plus files removed from file cabinets to the other side of the basement or, when necessary, to other parts of the house, outdoor shed, and garage while they worked on the “finished” side. Some of the items in the “unfinished” side had to be moved out of the basement to another part of the house to make room for heavier items that could not be lugged upstairs without breaking someone’s back. Two more file cabinets that I had not yet emptied they moved on a dolly to the other side of the basement. I regretted having emptied the 7 other file cabinets so that even more boxes with file contents had to be carefully labelled and moved to the other side. That was my fault! It was a complex undertaking since we were adding to what was already stored on the “unfinished” side, but the men were creative, cooperative, and experienced in meeting the challenge with us. The work began on the “finished” side and small hallway with demolition of the existing ceiling and lighting. Once the men cleaned up that mess they installed electrical cabling, wood, and drywall for the ceiling. They repaired the 2 feet of drywall around the bottom perimeter of the wall. Once the basic structure was in place they applied 2 coats of plaster to the walls and ceiling, and then sanded them. They taped the corners and joints. Following our selection of paint, they applied primer on the walls and ceiling, sanded, and then applied 2 coats of off-white paint to the walls and ceiling. What a beautiful transformation of the walls! To prepare for the installation of the luxury vinyl tile floor planks on the “finished” side and hallway they evened out the existing concrete with additional concrete. They lay the beautiful, brownish-gray floor planks on the concrete floor. Javier convinced us that the brownish-gray would be a good selection and he was right. Then the men installed baseboards and shoe molding around walls of the finished side and hallway. At some point they installed 8 recessed lights. What amazing acoustics in that room while it was still empty! In the latter phase of the “finished” side Alvaro repaired, sanded, and painted the stairway and lay the luxury vinyl tile floor planks to the stairs. To match the stairway, he sanded and stained the stair railing to match the stairs. He also repaired, sanded, and painted the walls off-white on either side of the stairway and the ceiling. Finally he painted the door separating the basement and kitchen. What a major transformation of that stairway! We were so pleased with the results! In the next phase of the project we transferred our attention to the “unfinished” side. After covering all the furniture, boxes, etc. with plastic they installed electrical cabling, wood, and dry wall on the ceiling. Then they applied plaster to the ceiling, sanded it, primed and painted it with 2 coats of paint. Then they installed 11 recessed lights to what previously was a deep, dark dungeon. When that major work was completed and the plastic removed, they vacuumed the area as best they could and moved the furniture and some of the boxes and bins back to the “finished” side. After a gap in construction Alvaro installed four heavy-duty, industrial-welded, steel storage units with adjustable shelves along the walls of the “unfinished” side of the basement so we didn’t have to worry about flimsy shelves collapsing with the weight of heavy boxes and plastic bins. Gradually we filled the shelves and file cabinets, moving some items temporarily stored in other parts of the house back to the basement. Alvaro (?) also installed a steel storage unit at one end of the garage to hold our daughters’ heavy boxes, some of which had been moved out of the basement and were collapsing with the weight of far too many boxes stacked on each other. Thanks to Javier for that creative solution to the problem! The DMV workmen did some additional jobs not directly related to repairing and painting walls and ceilings, installing hardwood/vinyl floors and lighting in the basement. Once the major work was done in the basement they went upstairs and moved some of the remaining displaced items to other parts of the house, garage, and shed. They installed a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, secured 2 bookcases to the wall, installed 3 transition pieces on the floors beneath the doorways, and installed 3 dimmers for the lights. After completing most of the work in the basement they performed extra tasks not listed in the contract upstairs, tasks like tightening the screws in a door that would not close, installing a toilet seat, repairing a knob on one of our utility closets, and moving an office chair in the family room to the garage for goodwill. Fabio installed 4 internet connections: 2 in the basement, 1 in the family room on the ground floor, and 1 in the den on the second floor. Finally my husband and I could use our computers! Then when all was said and done the men installed dimmers swept and cleaned the two sides of the basement and hallway one last time. Muchas gracias to Alex and Wilmer for doing most of the moving, cleaning, and trash collection, to Alvaro and Cesar for doing the construction including installation of the shelving units, to Fabio for installing the 4 internet connections, and to Orlando and Jose for wrapping things up at the end. Bon trabajo! The quality of materials and workmanship on the basement remodeling was exceptional as we have come to expect of this company. And because we are an elderly couple we really appreciated the extra help in moving things around in the basement and around the house. The workmen were reliable, polite, honest, skilled, hardworking, and flexible in adjusting to additions and changes from time to time. They always took extra care to clean up at the end of the day and to pick up trash as it was collected. The price seems reasonable given the extra work not previously budgeted. Javier was great at planning, communicating, and allowing for extra time when we needed it to make decisions on where to put things or to do some of the moving ourselves, but he could certainly have benefited from having a right-hand man to assist him when he was not immediately available. We would highly recommend DMV for home remodeling projects.
