"These guys did a great job. The tiles in my kitchen had popped up, but I had 18 extra tiles to use. The tile guys were able to save all the unbroken tiles so I still have 15 of my extra tiles left for the next time. They did a great job."

"Juve was wonderful about communicating, and it was easy to schedule the appointment. He showed up on time (actually a little bit early, which was wonderful) and got to work right away. He moved whatever furniture needed to be moved, and worked really hard at getting the cat stains out of the carpet. Those bedrooms look so much better and the smell is gone. He also hit a couple of stains on the stairs that I had overlooked. Then the kitchen - Oh My Word!!! I didn't know the tile was supposed to be this light color, I've never seen it this clean in the whole time we've owned the house. He did a marvelous job with the tile and grout. Super pleasant to deal with, and he takes pride in his work. I will definitely hire him again."

"Quite simply, Jose is great! My job consisted of the following:
  • - Replaced pull-down attic stairs
  • - Removed old tile and replaced in two locations
  • - Removed tile around fireplace and replaced
  • -Fixed drywall cracks in ceilings and repainted ceilings
  • - Replaced bathroom tub, faucets, sinks, tile floor, tile walls, and new granite counter top

Everything was done perfectly and is done to his very high personal standards. His tile work is simply excellent. The plumbing was done right. For example, he waited several days before covering up walls to make sure that the tub and all new pipes put in are not leaking.  Small things that were not explicitly covered in the bid are done because he feels they should be done and he never mentions them to you.  He and his crew arrive when they say they will and take great care to cover the floors and anything that needs to be covered while they are working. They clean up every day, leaving the house as clean as they started it that day.
I can?t say enough good things about them.  As an example, after my job was finished, we needed to wait while the grout and then the sealant dried before we used the new tub and shower.  This was about 5 days after José had finished my job. When we tried the shower for the first time, the water pressure was a bit low. I emailed Jose late that night, and he was back at my house the following night to fix the problem (turns out a small piece of solder was clogging the pipe).
Jose?s wife Sandra handles most of the company correspondence. She is a pleasure to deal with, always extremely prompt in responding. Jose is a very nice man and he is an honest man. When he needs to purchase anything, all bills are delivered to you for reimbursement. He will give you his advice when asked, but will always do what the customer wants. The first few days of my project I spent at home. After getting to know Jose a little, I felt very comfortable allowing him and his crew to work alone in my house. They did so for days and days with no issues.
In my opinion, his pricing is fair, especially for the quality of the work he provides.  So to summarize, I am pretty sure he can do anything you ask him to. Good work done for a good price, good people and honest people.

"I found Solid Stone Manufacturing to be among the most professional contractors I have ever worked with. They were on time, courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. They advised me of the risk of removing the quartz kitchen island counter top that was installed by others, and helped me with the decisions on the other installed counter tops. They were extremely helpful with the selection of the new counter tops, and provided the pros and cons associated with each type, and understood the balance of price and preferences. Their installation team was quick, clean and courteous. The installation work was executed flawlessly, so I couldn't be happier with the product and installation. I happily recommend Solid Stone Manufacturing to everyone?"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can tile over existing shower tiles, but it's better to remove the old tiles first for the best results. Tiling over existing tiles requires a clean, level surface and proper adhesion. If the old tiles are in good condition, you can roughen the surface to improve adhesion. However, removing the old tiles ensures a smoother, longer-lasting finish and prevents potential issues down the line.

Different types of tile cutters may work best depending on the type of tile you are cutting and the size of your project. There are two main types of tile cutters: manual and electric. Manual tile cutters are quick and easy to use for small projects and softer tile materials, but they can only make straight cuts. Electric tile cutters make light work of big projects and can cut through harder materials.

Phone jack installation can be a complicated project that requires cutting holes into just the right location in the wall and running delicate wiring. This sort of job is best left to the professionals.

Thinset mortar is the best adhesive for ceramic tiles on concrete. It is easy to work with and has a slower dry time than mastic or epoxy mortars. This longer dry time gives the installer more time to adjust tiles, which is especially useful for DIYers who may not have tile installation experience. It can also be built up to help level any depressions or gaps in the concrete subfloor.

Like any painted surface, tile paint can peel and chip over time. However, tile paint can become especially susceptible to peeling during periods of high humidity. Other sources of excess moisture will also cause tile paint to peel faster than normal. And if the tiles are in a high-traffic area, like the entryway floor, tile paint will chip and peel faster.
