"The repairs on my garage & the columns on front porch were done in a very professional way. Other companies would only replace complete frame, along with new door. E & S did a great job @ a very reasonable price. Completely satisfied."

"Our home flooded and John did all of the rehab work. All of the wood trim doors and painting had to be removed and replaced. Johns woodworking is excellent. This included doing several walls of wood shiplap. The trim and paint are top notch. He even ensures all the nail holes are filed and sanded to perfection."

Doors questions, answered by experts

For minor door issues in Spring, gently sand swollen edges during dry spells and use a portable fan to reduce indoor humidity. Replace worn weatherstripping to block out moisture and pests, and tighten loose hinges with a screwdriver. Avoid using excessive force on sticking doors, as this may worsen alignment. If you notice sagging frames or water intrusion after storms, contact a door repair expert promptly.

Helpful?

Spring’s humid climate and frequent storms mean door service projects must address moisture control and wind resistance. Opt for fiberglass or steel doors that resist swelling and warping. During hurricane season, reinforced, impact-rated doors are recommended for added safety. Schedule installations in early spring or fall to avoid peak humidity, and discuss weatherstripping and insulation to boost energy efficiency in the TX heat.

Helpful?

In Spring, homes often experience shifting due to clay soil, which can lead to door misalignment or cracks near frames. If your home features open-concept spaces or older ranch layouts, check for uneven thresholds or doors that drag on tile—these are signs of settling. Split-level homes may require special measurements for door installation, so share floor plans and any past foundation repairs with your contractor.

Helpful?

In Spring, most interior door repairs or replacements take a few hours, while exterior door installation may require most of a day, especially if weatherproofing or custom fitting is needed. Projects involving new doorways or structural changes can span several days. Seasonal demand and custom orders can extend timelines, so coordinate closely with your contractor and plan for possible weather-related delays.

Helpful?

When hiring door service pros in Spring, prioritize those with proven experience in local door installation and repair, especially for homes built in flood-prone neighborhoods or with brick exteriors common in the area. Ask about their knowledge of energy-efficient doors suited for TX heat and their access to local suppliers for quick turnaround. Always request references from recent Spring projects and confirm they offer written warranties and clear estimates.
