"These guys did a great job. The tiles in my kitchen had popped up, but I had 18 extra tiles to use. The tile guys were able to save all the unbroken tiles so I still have 15 of my extra tiles left for the next time. They did a great job."

"We recently used Garcia Tile installers for demo replacement of tile flooring throughout our new house prior to moving in. James installers did a outstanding job on all work performed and they met all estimates completion dates. As other reviewers have mentioned there was always great communication. Part of the way in were happy with the way the flooring work project was going so we ended up expanding the project scope and using James team to also retile the guest bath shower surround tile, and then going on and reconfiguring our master bath with a beautiful custom built shower. We are very happy with the quality of all work and would highly recommend James company."

"Milo not only did a Shower Install, but remodeled the entire bathroom for us. He removed and demolished the bathtub and enclosure, removed the existing toilet, removed the medicine cabinet and removed some tile that needed to be replaced. He installed a full size to the ceiling shower with fixtures, installed a new vanity, sink and fixtures, adjusted existing plumbing, installed tile to match existing tile that we had, installed a new toilet, installed, taped and floated new sheet rock where needed. He also was very reasonably priced. He also did a few extra items we requested at a very reasonable cost. I would definitely recommend him for any remodel project. We will definitely hire him for our next project. They were always on time and work hard the entire day. He was easy to talk to and answered every question we asked. They did an outstanding job. We are both very pleased."

"Daniel has had to replace my shower threshold because last year the contractor did not slope the tile to drain back into the shower, it leaked onto the bathroom floor. It was wet under the tiles he had to remove so had to let it dry out. Daniel is very knowledgeable and a good troubleshooter. He also did other woodwork jobs that the contractor left incomplete. I'm so happy to have FINALLY found someone that seems trustworthy and that does a great job. Thank you, Daniel!"

Small jobs welcome

"Ezequiel and his guys did an incredible job! Communicative, quick, and always on time. We noticed that the pattern on the tile work was incorrect in a few spots after they had finished and been paid. He came back and fixed it with no questions or complaints. Looks absolutely perfect. I would definitely use this company again!"

"I have been searching for a remodeling company that I feel I can trust, and does quality work. I am so glad I found sunshine flooring and remodeling. They did an amazing job pulling up 30 year old tile and replacing it with beautiful new tile. They also replaced my baseboards. The crew showed up early every day and worked tirelessly. They finished the job in 3 days, which to me was amazing. I feel so confident in using this company that I am going to use them for all my future remodeling."

"We had a great experience with Mike at Floor Coverings International. We wanted to continue hardwoods into another bedroom and Mike worked tirelessly to find us a match to our current hardwoods that we love. He was very communicative about the process and would quickly respond to any questions we had, even coming by multiple times to show us samples until we decided on a final option. The install by Miguel was quick and the final outcome was perfect. The whole experience went very smoothly and we will absolutely be using Floor Coverings International for any flooring work again in the future."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all best tile for a dog shower. Consider your budget, tile durability, aesthetics, and, most importantly, practicality. Avoid tiles your dog will slide around on. Pebbles are a great non-slip option, but are pricey and tricky to install. Glass might look modern, but it’s not scratch-resistant. Small, floor-rated ceramic or porcelain tiles are economical and have many grout lines that make the surface more slip-resistant. Pick a matte finish rather than a shiny tile if you want it to hide stray mud and hairs better.

Generally speaking, it is better to cut tile wet when using a fast-moving wet saw to reduce dust and chipping. However, tile can be cut dry when using just about any cutting tool. Dry cutting will result in a bigger mess and may increase the risk of chipping or cracking, but if you’re just making small cuts, dry cutting is a safe and viable option. Cutting dry also means you can apply tile grout sooner, so it’s better for rushed projects.

Yes, but you’ll have to use some other type of tool to avoid damaging the tile and possibly injuring yourself. Some alternatives to tile cutters include a glass cutter, angle grinder, and wet saw. Depending on the tile material, you might simply be able to measure and score it with something sharp, like a carbide-tipped pencil, and break it off. Be sure to sand the edge for a smooth installation.

Yes, it’s always a good idea to keep a box or two of spare tiles after a home renovation project. Tiles can crack from improper installation, heavy foot traffic, and impact from drops. Having some extra tile on hand can make replacement fast, easy, and affordable. Plus, some manufacturers might discontinue particular colors or styles, and slight variations in tile colors between batches could mean mismatched tiles even if your product isn’t discontinued. Having a few spare tiles in storage can help avoid these issues, as well.

Deciding between using a shower pan or tile will likely come down to the shower’s design. You can learn how to install a shower pan liner, but it has a standard look similar to most other showers, though there is some flexibility for material and color choices. Tile, on the other hand, can be customized and is set directly into the shower base. However, a shower tile floor is more difficult to install than a shower pan.
