"Their quality of work is excellent. They person showed, removed and disposed of our old carpet and removed all the debris left under the carpet by the original builder. We could barely tell where the carpet was cut to transition from one location to the next."

"The worker was about 30 minutes late. He promptly went to work pretreating the carpet with some sort of liquid cleaner. Then he went over the carpet with the suction equipment that left the rooms extremely wet. The spots did not come out of the carpet."

Small jobs welcome

"Ryan and his crew were wonderful, friendly, and eager to please. John, the owner, came out at the end of the project to ensure I was pleased and also helped move some furniture back in place. There were a few things where I think they could improve and I told them what they were: 1) For the prep side of things, use of drop cloths over furniture so dust isn't settling on everything, 2) turning off the ventilation system so that dust isn't being pumped through the house prior to removing the carpet and prepping the foundation. I would take a star off for that, but they worked so hard to try and make me happy that they deserve that star. My floors are gorgeous, and I will be using FCI again."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

In Plano, high-traffic areas like living rooms, hallways, and entryways typically require carpet installation sooner due to frequent foot traffic and exposure to outdoor elements. Children’s bedrooms and playrooms often need replacement from spills and active use. Rooms on the first floor may experience issues from humidity, while spaces near windows or HVAC vents can show fading or backing problems from the Texas sun and temperature swings.

Helpful?

After carpet installation in Plano, wait at least 24 hours before moving heavy furniture back and use furniture pads to prevent indentations. Vacuum thoroughly to remove installation debris. Within a month, schedule a professional deep cleaning and consider a carpet protector. Maintain your new carpet by vacuuming high-traffic areas weekly, deep cleaning every few months, and inspecting annually for signs of wear or humidity-related issues.

Helpful?

In Plano, immediate carpet installation is recommended if you notice water damage, loose sections creating trip hazards, severe pet stains, or carpet pulling away from tack strips, as these affect safety and air quality. Minor wear, light stains, or gradual fading can often wait unless you’re preparing to sell. For best results, schedule installation during Plano’s drier months and consult a local pro if unsure.

Helpful?

In Plano, tracking in red clay soil, not cleaning up spills from local allergens or humidity, and using too much water during cleaning can quickly damage carpets. Wearing shoes indoors, dragging furniture, and skipping regular vacuuming allow dirt to grind into fibers. Failing to use blinds or curtains exposes carpet to intense Texas sunlight, leading to premature fading and weakened backing.

Helpful?

In Plano, fraying or lifting carpet edges, small water spots, and developing wrinkles or bubbles can indicate underlying moisture or subfloor problems. Persistent musty odors may signal trapped humidity and potential mold growth. Visible seams or uneven color, especially near windows or vents, often worsen with local climate conditions, so addressing these early helps prevent more extensive repairs.
