"Nick and team did a phenomenal job painting the entire interior of my house (incl. ceilings, doors, trim, etc). I'm very happy with the final results. Nick was very punctual, organized and quick to respond with any questions and requests. They made it so painless, I just wished I had done it sooner! The quality of their work is incredible. Perfect lines, no dripping and the clean-up was spotless every day. Looks like a brand new house. I can't say enough good things about the experience. We will be doing the exterior of our house soon and I am looking forward to working with Nick again and highly recommend them for all your painting needs."

"SMG and Sal is the most professional vendor of any kind that I have ever worked with. He has the best customer skills I have encountered. His crew is always couteous . Sal has an uncanny color sense. If you are unsure about trying a color listen to him. He has painted many houses and he will be honest about what will look good in your house even if it is a red wall. I would hire him in a New York minute for any further painting projects I have. Thanks Sal."

"Cui and his crew were very friendly and respectable. They painted our home exterior and stained an arbor. He was the best price we found for both projects. Both projects were completed in 4 days. When I got off work after they had already gone for the day any questions I had during the project I took pictures and texted Cui. He was very responsive and helpful. My wife and I are very satisfied with their work and would recommend them. Good work at a Good price."

"I couldn?t be happier with the work done on my rooms! The painter was professional, punctual, and detail-oriented from start to finish. The walls look flawless?smooth, clean lines with no mess left behind. They took the time to prep everything properly, which really shows in the final result. On top of the amazing quality, he also offered a military discount, which I truly appreciated. My rooms feel brand new, and I?ve already gotten compliments from friends and family. I highly recommend his services to anyone looking for reliable, top-notch painting!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

If your biggest concern is making sure your deck doesn’t show dirt, opt for a darker neutral color that blends in well with your surrounding landscape. A rich brown or dark grey are both good options that work with a variety of house colors. A high-quality acrylic paint is easy to clean and maintain, so it might be worth spending the money on.

Painting a damaged pool deck is not recommended if the substrate is crumbling, cracking, spalling, or otherwise actively deteriorating. Continuing deterioration will result in the paint also delaminating or flaking off the damaged surface. Minor damage such as chips or hairline cracks that are not actively deteriorating can often be repaired enough to paint over. A damaged pool deck with a lot of cracking and deterioration should be replaced for best results.

Limewash and whitewash are two techniques used to give brick a light, matte finish, but they differ in composition, application, and permanence. The best choice depends on your aesthetic goals and the specific surface.

Composition

  • Limewash: A natural and environmentally friendly option made from limestone, water, and sometimes pigments. It is breathable and soaks into porous surfaces like brick.

  • Whitewash: Traditionally made from lime, water, chalk, and binders, but a similar look can be achieved with watered-down white paint. It is paint-based and sits on top of the surface.

Appearance and Finish

  • Limewash: Provides a natural, textured appearance that allows the brick's character to show through. It offers a more traditional finish.

  • Whitewash: Creates a softer, more opaque finish, often used for a rustic or shabby-chic style.

Application and Permanence

  • Limewash: Is semi-permanent and can be removed, making it a good choice if you might want to change the look in the future. It requires more skill to apply and cannot be used on previously painted brick.

  • Whitewash: Is a more permanent solution. It is more forgiving to apply and can be used on painted brick. However, because it sits on the surface, it can trap moisture.

Ultimately, if you want a breathable, natural, and reversible finish for unpainted brick, limewash is a great option. If you need a more permanent, opaque coating that can be applied over painted surfaces, whitewash is the better choice. Whitewashing may also be more economical, costing approximately $1.40 to $4.20 per square foot.

The staining or painting process involves cleaning the deck, sanding surfaces, applying a primer (if needed), and carefully applying stain or paint for an even, lasting finish.

Constant exposure to inclement weather conditions can damage your deck, causing it to fade, warp, or crack over time. Regular maintenance keeps it looking and performing its best. That means giving it a good cleaning and applying a quality sealant or wood treatment to help defend against moisture, sun damage, and everyday wear.
