"Case number 19194290. Edgar, the owner, came and looked at what I wanted painted. Mainly touchups and shelf painting. He suggested power washing. I got a price in a few days. The bid was for another property that I do not own. I told him and Amber (his secretary, I guess) that was not my property. I kept getting price revisions for someone else’s property. Finally, I got a bid for my property. Told him the price was way too high. He cut the price in half. I later realized he had simply eliminated painting the shelves, something I needed done. We kept texting back and forth, trying to agree on what would be painted and what it would cost. He offered to do some power washing. We kept negotiating on price. No price or services included was ever agreed upon . One day Edgar called and said his guy was out there power washing. I was not home. I never agreed to any power washing as we had not finished negotiating. . Like I said, we were still negotiating. Naturally, I never expected work to start until we agreed on items to be included and price. He started talking very fast and very loudly. I kept telling him to slow down because I could not understand him. He kept yelling and talking fast. I told him I sensed he was angry but I could not understand what he was angry about. Then he hung up. I had taken pictures of the supposed “work” that I never agreed to. One is a wiping of my porch. Clearly it was not cleaned. The other is the deck still full of bird droppings. These were taken AFTER the supposed “work”. Amber sent me a bill for $2,500.today. Absurd amount. For “power washing “ that was poorly done? I sent copies of these pics and told her I had never authorized anyone from their company to do any work on my house. She said if I did not pay the $2,500 they would put a lien on my property."

"These guys are the very best, most knowledgeable painters I’ve ever encountered in my life. They are responsive, fair, professional and they went above and beyond for our home. I would definitely recommend them. We had a laundry list of home improvement items that we had tried to fix ourselves, and they were able to literally give my home a facelift. Everyone who has come over has instantly noticed. The quality of paint is exactly what we needed. Nick listens to your needs and is a wealth of information if you have any questions. Looking to resell your home and gain a higher resale value? Book these guys. They were able to get everything done in one day. Have renters and need a facelift for new renters? Book these guys. Want to go with the latest Pinterest ideas? Book these guys! They were able to get wonderful new colors of paints and color match my existing colors. I’m beyond impressed. Exterior Painting questions, answered by experts

Primer is always recommended for every exterior paint job because it ensures even coverage and long-lasting color. That said, there are high-end brands of paint that market themselves to be easily used without the need for a coat of primer beforehand. It’s up to you which one you choose (and have the budget for), just as long as you read the paint manufacturer’s specific instructions on the product before getting started.

Using a roller allows you to apply a mist coat quickly to avoid uneven spots while drying, but it can create streaks and splatters from the watery paint. Applying with a paintbrush can take longer but may be less messy. There are pros and cons to using either a roller or a brush for the mist coat. The mist coat is diluted, so it can be messier to work with, but it also dries quickly.

A professional painter will typically prep the walls to ensure a longer-lasting, smoother paint job. Prepping the walls can involve scraping off debris or flaked paint, filling in grooves or nail holes, sanding, cleaning, applying a coat of primer, taping the trim, and removing outlet covers. You should ask your painter before hiring about their process to make sure it’s in line with your expectations and needs.

Stucco by itself is durable, but even paint made for harsh environmental conditions requires regular maintenance and upkeep. In other words, repaint your stucco every five to 10 years, depending on its current condition. Trust your senses. If it looks fine, it probably is fine. If it looks cracked and worn down, give it a new coat.

To prep a floor for painting, start by sweeping and cleaning any loose debris that could puncture the protective material. Take out as much furniture as possible. Then lay plastic, canvas, rosin paper, or masonite sheets across the room, securing them at the edges with masking tape. Plan your painting so that you minimize the chances you’ll step in and track any splatters.
