Bloomin Blinds is a family business. Karen (Mom) began the company in 2001 and within months her 3 sons joined Bloomin' Blinds. With the addition of 7 amazing staff members, we do our best to keep up! While we are one of the largest volume blind/shutter retailers in DFW, you will still feel like you are part of the family as we work together.

"One of the many projects we’ve had on our list was to upgrade the front of our house by replacing our old curtains with shutters. We had used Bloomin Blinds on several occasions for repairs, but had never bought any products from them. Becca and her team did exactly what they said they would from the outset, suggesting the appropriate width and color for the shutters. The dimensions were measured on two occasions, resulting in three shutter units that are exact fits for our window units. The shutters look great inside and out; our only regret with this process is that we didn’t let Bloomin Blinds tackle the project sooner."

"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. Village Designs and Remodeling is a one-stop shop for kitchen and bathroom design and remodeling. Our innovative approach to design and customer focus makes us a stand out in the industry. Our goal is to make your kitchen and bathroom remodeling dreams come true. We have developed a Design Process that we use. Village Designs and Remodeling’s goal is to turn your dream kitchen or dream bath into a reality. To achieve this goal, we would like to learn as much as possible about your design vision. A private home interview is the first step in the process. During this appointment, we encourage you to share with us anything that will help us better understand how you would like your room designed. Clients find that magazine photos, color schemes, brochures, etc., to be helpful. The next step is for a member of our team to take photos and measurements of the existing room. About a week after the initial appointment, we will submit to you our initial design. After any revisions, we will provide you with a budget and quote for the remodeling project. All the products and materials are then ordered, in order to avoid delays in construction. Once the remodeling materials have been assembled, we will contact you to regarding a construction start date. We tailor our work around your schedule and will not begin our work until you are ready. Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist.

"I hired to Gene Chernay /Village Designs to remodel my kitchen in June 2018.  My only regret is that I did not take the time to post a positive formal review sooner.  However, since I have had experience with a number of different home improvement and home repair contractors and services since then, I have come to deeply appreciate Gene’s professionalism in comparison to others.  This was a really big investment for me and a really big deal.  As single mother and sole provider for my family, there were lean years where I had to live with things in disrepair because the money just wasn’t there.  Once that changed, my daughter was in college and all my money went there.  Finally, I was in a position to invest in my home but it was scary for me.  It took me a long to time pull the trigger on signing a contract with Gene and he was patient and very professional in following up with me without pressuring me.  Here is my honest take: ·       He was always kind and courteous, even during moments when I felt stressed or frustrated. ·       His tear out crew and tile people were fast and efficient! ·       His carpenters and electricians were a joy to have in my home and I definitely do not feel that way about every contractor or service technician who has come through my home. ·       Everyone picked up after themselves (trash, tools and equipment) daily and was respectful of me and my home (believe it or not, some contractors just don’t) and they did not break or damage anything (and that is not true of all contractors.) ·       I have since used his plumber and had positive experiences. ·       I have used an AC company he recommended and had positive experiences. ·       I wish I had used his painter to paint my exterior but I made a mistake on that decision and went with someone different for which I will post a separate review. ·       His fabricator did a stunning job on my kitchen counters! ·       I followed his recommendations on sourcing all new appliances from a business that he had a long time relationship with and that worked out really well. ·       He left every detail down to the selection of grout color up to me with his guidance and suggestions as needed. ·       He gave me a list of decisions I needed to make as we went along and helped me prioritize them. There were a couple of minor concerns with the cabinets that could have been done differently, but in the end, they are absolutely beautiful and I am so happy with my new kitchen and the way I was treated! I will definitely hire him again if he hasn’t retired by the time I am ready to do my master bathroom. "

"I had a great experience using Rodenbaugh's to install my new flooring. I replaced all of the old carpeting in my house with the latest vinyl flooring that mimics the look of hardwood but is water resistant and pet-friendly. From the beginning of the process (selecting the flooring and reviewing all of my options) to the actual installation of the flooring - everything was done professionally and exceeded my expectations. I would use Rodenbaugh's in the future and would also recommend them to others looking for any of the services they offer."

"I CALLED AND DESCRIBED THE PROBLEM. THE LADY FELT IT WAS PROBABLY A WATER SUPPLY VALVE. THEY DIDN'T HAVE ONE, SO SHE SAID SHE WOULD ORDER ONE. IT WAS NO COST TO ME UNLESS IT WAS THE RIGHT PART. SHE ANTICIPATED 2 DAYS, SO I MADE THE APPOINTMENT. THEY CALLED A DAY EARLY, SAYING THEY HAD RECEIVED THE PART AND THAT THEY COULD COME BY THAT DAY, IF I WANTED. I AGREED. THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED AS AGREED, AND DETERMINED THAT THE PART WAS WHAT IT NEEDED. HE REPLACED IT WITHIN 1/2 HOUR. HE WAS PERSONABLE, AND COURTEOUS. THE FEE WAS.$200.00."

"You can stop the searching right now! Rob is the best in the business. It was supposed to be a 5-6 week project and he finished on time. Only reason he couldn't finish it earlier was due to city inspectors delaying the process (not due to anything he did wrong but due to scheduling and delays in their process). Rob was ALWAYS on time and he performed his work wholeheartedly every single day! He is the type that will listen to all your requirements and at the same time provide recommendations with the wealth of knowledge and wisdom he has gained over the years. You might be thinking is it okay to leave your house to him by himself when you are at work etc. We learned pretty quickly that he is a trustworthy and honest man, and to top it off, he doesn't take shortcuts. Call All 'N Renovations for your needs! Thank you, Rob!"

2008 years of experience

Appliancezone.com is a leading on-line retailer of appliance parts and accessories for do-it-yourself homeowners. Incorporated in 2008, it was started by CEO, Jim Allen and his wife Paula, who operated an appliance repair business for nearly fourteen years prior to starting the internet company Appliance Zone.

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

Accurate knowledge of our trade combined with ability is what makes us true professionals. Above all, we are watchful of our customers interests, and make their concerns the basis of our business.

"Mr. Page quickly responded to my call and was able to come out within a few days. I didn't think my washer was working properly as the clothes were still dirty and the water level was so low that it didn't even rise to the top of the clothes. I just wanted him to check to see if it was working the way it should. After Mr. Page checked everything thoroughly, he said it was working the way it should. I have an impeller washer but he said I may be happier with a washer that uses an agitator which cleans the clothes better. I am thrilled he suggested that and after doing some research I am biting the bullet and purchasing one with an agitator. Mr. Page also looked at our oven as the door periodically feel off. He determined we needed new hinges. However, the model number was not accessible and our oven is on the older side. Mr. Page was able to find our model a few days later and called me with a price to repair them. Again, he was thorough and prompt with the information. Mr. Page is a lovely man, was here on time and I pleased with his suggestions. I highly recommend him and will be my go to appliance guy from here on out."

Appliance Sales questions, answered by experts

Most microwaves last for around eight years; lower-end units may last as few as five, while higher-end microwaves could continue to work for ten or more years. A few factors will affect the lifespan of your small appliance:

  • How many people in your home use the appliance

  • How often you use the microwave

  • Brand and quality

  • Whether or not you maintain it properly

  • Style of microwave

  • Professional or DIY installation

It’s best practice to responsibly dispose of a refrigerator, as it can contain substances that are harmful to the environment, and to avoid illegal dumping. Explore other options for getting rid of an old refrigerator such as selling it on Facebook Marketplace, recycling it at a local scrap yard, or donating it to a nonprofit organization.

If you do not perform proper, regular maintenance, your oven's life span will be shortened. Make sure to thoroughly clean your oven regularly, including coils, ranges, and other parts. In addition, use the self-cleaning mode sparingly; it’s hard on your appliance. When you do use it, carefully follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Regular servicing identifies potential issues early, minimizes downtime, and ensures appliances run efficiently, saving energy and extending their lifespan.

Since you’re using high heat when cleaning the oven, it could damage some components that were on the verge of breaking. If this happens, first go to your circuit breaker, turn off the switch to your oven and flip it back on to see if it works. If it doesn’t, it could indicate you have a damaged control board or a tripped thermal fuse.
