Customers say: Quick response

"I hired Kingdom Innovation twice to lay floors in my home. Daniel is a delight to work with and is very honest and meticulous with each job he did, helping me find superior materials at the best prices. His rates are competitive and fair and he stands behind his work. His crew was friendly and very respectful of my home, leaving it immaculate after each job. Daniel went above and beyond when he found mold on the concrete under my floors throughout my home on the first job. When most companies would have walked away, Daniel tackled the problem and laid beautiful wood floors throughout my home. The tile work he just finished in my bathroom is gorgeous. I have recommended him to my friends and he is now working on a project at their home. I highly recommend Kingdom Innovation for any remodeling project you may have because they offer many services. ~Lorri P"

"While ours was a small job (swapping out old lino bath flooring for tile), the MP crew was responsive and easy to work with. Job was started on time, workmanship was perfect, and job site was left clean and tidy. Highly recommend!!"

"

Initially I contacted Paul Alvarez to paint my living & dining rooms, hallway, kitchen and laundry, guest and master bathrooms.  As we went along, I asked him for his price to do additional projects. Before Paul could begin painting, there was extensive damage to the wall in my living room from Ant infestation and he re-built the wall as well as filled cracks in the wall. Paul had a crew of approximately five (5) workers who followed his directions regarding laying the laminate & ceramic flooring and painting.  Another company was contracted and paid to lay the laminate and ceramic flooring, but quit before finishing the project.  Paul stepped up and offered to finish these projects and at a lower rate.  During the painting and floor laying, all my furniture was covered and protected.  At the end of each workday, Paul and his crew left my house clear of trash and tools.  Items that were trash were neatly stacked on the curb to be picked up on trash day by the City.

Paul did such a fantastic job, I took pictures of the progress and showed his work to my friends and co-workers.  Several even asked for his telephone number for possible projects.

If Paul had to pick up items from Home Depot, the store's sales person called me to take my payment information and at the end of the project, Paul gave me a breakdown of work done as well as copies of all items purchased.

I am very, very pleased with the outcome of these projects, my home looks like a new place and when I am ready to paint my four (4) bedrooms, I plan to contact Paul Alvarez to do the projects.

Paul treated my projects like a job, he and his crew started work each day between 8:30 AM - 5 PM.  He was very professional and answered my questions. He is a professional with great ideas based on my specific taste.

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Your floors should be completely level for tile, otherwise you risk damaging the tiles in the future. When there are even small gaps or hills in the subfloor beneath the tile, this puts more pressure on the tile when you walk around on the floor. With repeated traffic, the tiles are at risk of cracking, and you’ll have to deal with tile repairs sooner than if the floor was completely level.

The average cost for tile installation is about $2,000, with a typical price range between $500 and $6,500. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $5 and $45 for installation.

Several factors influence the total cost, including:

  • Installation Site: Costs vary for different areas. Common project costs are: kitchen floor ($870–$6,100), countertop or backsplash ($500–$3,000), bathroom floor ($300–$2,400), or shower wall ($225–$2,000).

  • Tile Type and Quality: The material significantly impacts price. For example, standard ceramic or travertine tile can cost about $1 per square foot, while luxury options like marble can be as much as $350 per square foot for the material alone.

  • Project Size and Complexity: The total square footage, the complexity of the pattern, and the shape of the tile (e.g., square, rectangle, hexagon, mosaic) will affect labor and material costs.

  • Site Preparation: The amount of prep work needed, such as removing old tile or installing a new subfloor or backer board, can add to the final price.

  • Tile Characteristics: The tile's durability rating and porosity can also influence the price.

  • Location: Labor rates vary by geographic location.

The number of boxes of tile you need depends entirely on the amount of tile in each box or case. Different manufacturers package their tiles differently, and boxes contain different amounts of tile depending on the size, shape, and material. Often, the amount of area that a case will cover is listed in the product description. To calculate the number of boxes you need, take the total square feet of the space and divide it by the number of square feet the box will cover.

Yes, it’s always a good idea to keep a box or two of spare tiles after a home renovation project. Tiles can crack from improper installation, heavy foot traffic, and impact from drops. Having some extra tile on hand can make replacement fast, easy, and affordable. Plus, some manufacturers might discontinue particular colors or styles, and slight variations in tile colors between batches could mean mismatched tiles even if your product isn’t discontinued. Having a few spare tiles in storage can help avoid these issues, as well.

Yes, but you’ll have to use some other type of tool to avoid damaging the tile and possibly injuring yourself. Some alternatives to tile cutters include a glass cutter, angle grinder, and wet saw. Depending on the tile material, you might simply be able to measure and score it with something sharp, like a carbide-tipped pencil, and break it off. Be sure to sand the edge for a smooth installation.
