"Cesar was great to work this. Came out immediately and provided a good quote. His crew was able to come out the next day. Power washed the fence, replaced some damaged boards and rebuilt the gates. Restained everything, the fence looks great. Cesar walked through with me ensuring I was satisfied."

"I couldn't be happier! NO SUBCONTRACTORS WITH THESE GUYS!!! Thomas does the quote and is there on the job the whole time. The work is neat and tidy and they use plenty of stain. They are courteous, punctual, and the clean up is excellent. Another Angie's List provider quoted this job at $3250. ATM Painting did a great job for $1973!!! Just plan ahead because they stay busy!"

"Amazing customer service! We were thoroughly educated on what to expect and the painters didnâ t mind the questions on site when we would ask what was happening. And they went above and beyond helping find an exact stain that we wanted we tried what felt like a million stains and Robertoâ s patience through the process was amazing. We had a crazy timeline to move into our home and these guys moved heaven and earth to finish as quickly as possible! We absolutely love our cabinets and canâ t recommend Dallas Varsity Painting enough!"

"They did an OK job on the paint but wanted me to do a walk through before the work was complete. There were several areas not painted and there were drips on the floors and on the toilet after they wer finished. Their payment process is the biggest problem. The only way they will let you pay is over the phone. Someone writes down your card number and then charges you later that day. Secure payment sites are so easy to set up these days, there is no reason to risk your customer's data."

"We have an older home with wood siding and paint that was in very rough shape. Augustin and his crew prepped our house for painting, repaired damaged siding and other exterior details, and installed and framed an exterior storm door.
Augustin applied 2 coats of paint for a 2-color scheme with some detailing at the top of the house. All in all it came out very nicely, and our house now looks so much prettier than it did before. In fact, all our neighbors were a bit jealous. 6 months have now passed, and the workmanship is holding up well.
Some of the other proposals I had received seemed to be motivated more by potential profit and personal expertise than what was good for us as home owners. However, Augustin gave a very good quote compared to other contractors. I expected the price to go up as the work went along since there are always unexpected problems, but Augustin stayed within the quoted price and provided what I feel was reliable advice on the problems we faced. His crew showed up regularly, even though rain was an issue, and they all worked very hard. I even had a neighbor who, after seeing them work, commented that whatever I was paying them, they were definitely worth it.
Communication was very good, and Augustin and his crew were easy to work with. I'd recommend them to anyone looking to have their home painted.

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

It’s a good idea to sand your porch before painting. This will remove loose or chipped paint and debris, and give you a cleaner surface so that your new paint goes on smoothly. But if the existing surface is in good condition, it’s not necessary to sand your porch before you paint.

You may be wondering: can you paint cement? Fortunately, the answer is yes.

To change the color of your cinder blocks, you have two options. You can either paint them or stain them. Either way, you'll be able to choose from a wide range of color options. Some popular colors for cinder block painting include off-white shades and gray tones, which add a modern spin to the traditional gray blocks.

Opt for an interior wood stain that is rated for your type of wood. Consider your personal style preferences as well as the overall use of the room when choosing a color. Remember, the color you see at the store may look different on your actual floors once applied. This is why if you have the chance, it’s helpful to test a few options on a scrap piece of wood in the room first. Once you narrow it down, you can test a small patch on an inconspicuous area in the room to see it on the actual floors.

Choosing the best color for your home exterior should factor in longevity as well as your personal taste. To keep your house looking newly painted as long as possible, stay away from red paint. Although red homes pop and are quintessential for country-style barns, red paint tends to fade fastest in the sun. Go with earth tones if you want paint that best resists fading.

Staining a deck with a rag is typically a better option than using a brush, as it helps the stain penetrate deeper into the wood. However, both brushes and rags are best reserved for detailed work because using these tools on an entire deck can require tediously crawling around on your hands and knees. A pad applicator, sprayer, or roller are preferred alternatives to applying stain over the majority of a deck. Use a rag for railings and other detailed work, and let the wood soak up as much of the stain as possible before wiping away drips or pools.
