"Cesar was great to work this. Came out immediately and provided a good quote. His crew was able to come out the next day. Power washed the fence, replaced some damaged boards and rebuilt the gates. Restained everything, the fence looks great. Cesar walked through with me ensuring I was satisfied."

"Thomas did an excellent job in sanding, staining , and then three coats of sealer on our front door. He took time making sure that each stage was perfect. You don’t get this type of workmanship these days.. I have no hesitation in recommending him and will choose him whenever I have another project."

"They did an OK job on the paint but wanted me to do a walk through before the work was complete. There were several areas not painted and there were drips on the floors and on the toilet after they wer finished. Their payment process is the biggest problem. The only way they will let you pay is over the phone. Someone writes down your card number and then charges you later that day. Secure payment sites are so easy to set up these days, there is no reason to risk your customer's data."

"Dealing with JTB Painting was a wonderful experience. They were punctual, organized, very neat, and professional. There painting skills are the best I have ever seen. Each day they updated me with the progress and were very friendly to talk with. I would definatly choose JTB Painting for future projects, they do topnotch work for a very good price. I also learned from talking to them they remodel, weld, build decks, fencing, and much more. I was very well pleased to work with JTB.

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Many decking oils can help slow down algae growth, but they don't completely stop it. These oils work by sealing the wood, which reduces moisture and, therefore, algae growth. Some decking oils also help protect against UV damage, but they need to be reapplied according to the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure the decking stays protected.

It is not always necessary to remove old stain before restaining a deck. If the previous stain is in good condition and is compatible with the new stain, you may be able to apply a new coat after thorough cleaning. However, if the old stain is in bad condition, flaking, or peeling, it is best to remove it completely to ensure an even surface and proper adhesion for the new coat. Staining over a damaged layer can lead to an uneven finish and poor penetration. For best results, test a small area first and consult the stain manufacturer's guidelines.

Here's the deal with leaving used rags covered in oil-based stain lying around in a pile: Depending on the conditions, these rags can take just an hour or up to a few days to combust. The source of ignition is caused by trapped heat that can be compounded if the rags are near a heat source.

Pressure-treated wood lasts at least 10 years, but with the right care and treatment, it can last as long as 40 years. Painting the boards is one way to increase the lifespan of pressure-treated wood. The layer of paint provides extra protection for the wood against the exterior elements and insects.

Hangers are one way of attaching stair stringers to a deck. These metal hangers are usually adjustable, allowing you to find the ideal angle for a secure installation. They’re the best choice for installing longer staircases, such as one on a two-story deck, to reduce the load on the deck frame while keeping the stairs stable.
