"Answered all of my HVAC duct and vent cleaning questions. Honest and up front with pricing which was very competitive. Other company quoted one price but when they came out to my house the price was higher with added fees and services not mentioned over the phone when scheduling. Needless to say I cancelled with them and went with Fresh Air Home Services and am happy I did. Technicians were professional and thorough. A+"

"My 1950, 860 ft house had 20+ yr old dusty, pink insulation, that was even worse after the city revamped utility vaults & pushed rats into the neighborhood. I chose S.R Insulation to vacuum out, caulk open voids, and re-blow insulation. The owner set up an appointment quickly. On the day of service, he did call 15 minutes late to advise of an issue. The 3 person team arrived within an hour, set up the vacuum and bags, then removed insulation; original, wood-shingle slips; and ducting left by A/C techs. They worked between 3 to 4 hours and said they would return next business day. The two part installation, gave me an idea - I asked for an extension, so I could repair ceiling sheet rock while the attic was void. The owner agreed. He did not require partial payment. Three weeks later, I rescheduled. The install was even quicker, filling up to the stud height in white, blown insulation. He leaves behind a cardboard measuring stick to show you. The difference inside the house was immediate. I will not provide calculations, as I added front load washer/dryer to the electric usage at this same time. Later, I found my stove top vent fan blocked. I was able to pull out material from the duct, and the fan worked. Therefore I did not call the owner about this. I paid less than $1500, and thought it fair. I would use S.R. Insulation again and recommend them."

"Giving a 5 star review in El Paso is almost impossible these days, but rob absolutely earned it. My experience has been after you pay someone for work they high tail it out and if something goes wrong, good luck getting them back. I called rob because we were having issues with our dryer after he did the duct, apparently out clog was WAY worse then we thought. Rob came right back out and fixed the issue and man alive there was lot of stuff. If you own a older home you NEED this service."

"Chimney was cleaned and I am good to go for another 7-8 years. My dryer vent was almost completely clogged. Now that it has been cleaned I can rest easier knowing that it is not a fire hazard. The owner is very professional and courteous. He is very knowledgeable and provided me with some suggestions regarding the grate I currently have in my fireplace. He came recommended by a neighbor and I am So glad I reached out. I will definitely you him again."

Dryer Vent Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Dryers pull in air from a circular opening in the back of the dryer. The dryer's heating element heats the air, and a blower fan circulates the hot air through the drum. The hot air travels outside the dryer through a vent or is cooled by a heat exchanger that condenses the steam into water and sends it down a drainpipe or to a containment compartment.

You should not put boric acid into your home’s air vents. While sprinkling boric acid in roach-prone areas is an effective way to get rid of them, it’s not safe to introduce those chemicals into your home’s air system. Instead, put boric acid or diatomaceous earth in a spot that roaches may walk through, infesting them and the rest of the infestation.

Exhaust systems should be inspected annually to prevent efficiency loss and address any arising mechanical issues.

If you just moved into a new house or found significant mold, dust, or pest remnants in your vents, or you see condensation on your air vents, you can easily find a highly trained pro to do the job correctly by asking a few key questions:

  • Do you have proof of liability insurance?

  • What about worker's compensation insurance?

  • Are you a member of the NADCA?

  • Have you worked on my model of HVAC system before?

  • What is included in your contracted amount?

  • Can you provide local references?

The average cost of a dryer vent ranges from $100 to $300 for the various models, but that price doesn’t include installation. If you're hiring a pro, the labor cost to install a dryer vent will be an additional $20 to $35 per hour. The job takes roughly two to four hours, so that’s an extra $40 to $140 altogether.
