"We had them out before to install a new heater & light in our Master bath, install a new ceiling fan in one room and repair another one.
It required plaster for the new heater which they had someone do also.  They did a good job.  Later, when our light went out in the Master bath we were not able to open to put in new lights so called them.  They could not get out to do the work the next day as they were booked.  However, the owner came out personally to open it for us so we would not have to wait.  He not only took care of that but was a fine young man who told us he has been in business over 10 years and had only good things to say about his employees.  We would recommend them to our neighbors and plan to use them as needed.

"I had an outlet that had not worked since I purchased my home in 2016. LAJ Electric LLC came to assess the situation. He found the problem and was able to fix the issue with no issues 10/10. I will be hiring again to update two (2) builder grade light fixtures to ceiling fans."

"They arrived on time and performed the specified work in a high quality fashion. I received quotes for other services as well including moving a ceiling fan. I thought the price they were asking was very high, and I would have to hire another contractor to complete the work."

"Amazing, I called less than 24 hours ago, and as of today 2 ceiling fans installed, 5 smoke detectors, gfis replaced, and 3 light fixtures. Excellent work, very neat and tidy, super friendly. And the office communicated several times confirming appointment and time of arrival. Highly recommend"

"We couldn't have been more pleased with the results of our kitchen remodel.   Over a period of six days we had many people working in our kitchen.   All of the work seemed to be carefully orchestrated with daily phone updates as to who would arrive and when.   We were impressed with all the guys who were in our house.   They all did great work and were very careful to clean up at the end of every day.  The new cabinet fronts and drawers look better than we could have ever imagined.    The granite countertops are beautiful and the tile backsplash looks like a work of art.  We're also very pleased with the new window and light fixture over the sink.   All in all, things could not have gone better, and if we had another project we would definitely hire Signature again."

"We could not be more pleased with Bob Ryden. He is honest, he does amazing work, he is meticulous and *always* cleans up (this is huge based on my experience with other contractors). Here is one example of how cool he is. After he did the master bathroom (and it was fabulous) we asked him to paint the office and we picked a greenish color for the walls and ceiling. I was at work and Bob called asking if I was *sure* that I wanted to paint the ceiling green. Since I had worked with Bob for a few months I was smart enough to pick up on his subtle question so I asked him what he thought. Well, Bob thought it would make the room look too dark, so end of discussion. We painted the ceiling a lighter color and it is awesome. Bob is never "pushy" but he has a solid sense of what works and what doesn't and he'll take the time to check in on that. I will always be grateful to Bob for taking the initiative-I don't know any other contractors who would have thought about it or made the effort."

"I called Mark and he happened to be between jobs, so he said he'd be right over.  He arrived about 20 minutes later.  I thought he'd just be giving me an estimate, but he said he had time to do the work right then.  He checked the fan first and said it would probably be most cost effective if I replaced the whole unit.  While I went to the store, he fixed the door and took down the old ceiling fan.  My 3-yr-old grandson was greatly entertained by all this activity :)
The new fan was installed in about a half hour and thoroughly tested to make sure all the wiring was correct.  And best of all, Mark cleaned up all the packing and debris before he left!  I will definitely be calling him again for future jobs.  Thank you Mark!

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

The number of blades for your fan poses both advantages and disadvantages. Typically, the more blades on a fan, the better the air distribution and cooling effect, but this also means that your fan will have more wear on its motor. For small rooms, three-blade fans should work fine. For larger areas like living rooms, four or five-blade fans might be the better option.

If the fan doesn’t have a switch, connect the white wire from the ceiling to the white wire from the fan; connect the green wire to the ground wire; connect both black wires; and connect both blue wires. If yours has a switch, the white and green wires are connected the same way. However, connect the ceiling’s red wire to the light’s black wire and the ceiling’s black wire to the fan’s black wire.

The direction you want your ceiling fan to move in depends on the season you’re in. During summer, you want it to move counterclockwise to produce a cooling downdraft. During winter, you want it to move clockwise to circulate warm air throughout the room.

There are many types of ceiling fans, from self-automated smart ceiling fans to outdoor ceiling fans that provide additional comfort to your patio. What you choose all comes down to function and personal taste.

Consider your ceiling height when selecting a ceiling fan. Rooms with ceilings under eight feet high will do well with low-profile ceiling fans, also known as flush-mount or hugger ceiling fans. If your home has cathedral ceilings or ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, you’ll need a large ceiling fan with a heavy-duty motor to get adequate air circulation.

Though possible, installing a ceiling fan yourself requires electrical knowledge and confidence working with home wiring. Following the manufacturer's instructions carefully and observing safety precautions are crucial components of a DIY installation.
