"They did a great job repairing my light fixtures and replacing/repairing my bathroom fan. Their prices were fair and I managed to get quotes for future work. They were friendly and attentive, as well . I will definitely use their services again!"

"MrReese installed three experience ceiling fans in my home. One had crystal jewels on it. I watched him install it with white cloth gloves, so that he didn't get finger prints on them. I was very impressed by his professionalism. I plan to hire him again."

"I had an outlet that had not worked since I purchased my home in 2016. LAJ Electric LLC came to assess the situation. He found the problem and was able to fix the issue with no issues 10/10. I will be hiring again to update two (2) builder grade light fixtures to ceiling fans."

"James showed up on time. He assembled and installed a pendant drum light with a 60 inch down rod on a slanted, vaulted ceiling exactly where it needed to be. Then he patched, textured and painted the hole where the prior fixture had been. He also assembled and installed a second fan with a 36 inch down rod at the peak of the vaulted ceiling about 13 feet up. James is very professional and personable. I had obtained three quotes and his was the best price! I will be hiring him again to install two bathroom vanity light fixtures. I highly recommend James."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Hiring an electrician to install a new ceiling fan may be the best course of action. Installing a ceiling fan requires basic electrical and mechanical knowledge. It also requires holding it up with one hand and in an awkward position, making the installation even more difficult. If you’re uncomfortable with these circumstances, your best bet is to hire a professional.

The more surface area that a ceiling fan blade has, the more effective it will be at producing airflow. Therefore, a longer ceiling fan blade is the better option if you’re looking for more wind. However, a longer blade will consume more energy than a shorter blade.

There’s no reason why you can’t install a ceiling fan anywhere in your home, such as in living rooms, offices, bedrooms, and dining areas. Most bathrooms already have ventilation and don’t need a ceiling fan. For safety purposes, avoid installing a ceiling fan where the blades will be less than eight feet from the floor, near bunk beds, or anywhere else they may hit nearby objects.

Though possible, installing a ceiling fan yourself requires electrical knowledge and confidence working with home wiring. Following the manufacturer's instructions carefully and observing safety precautions are crucial components of a DIY installation.

A typical fan installation takes between two and six hours. The exact timeframe can be influenced by factors such as the home's structure, existing electrical characteristics, ease of attic access, and whether complex wiring or additional attic ventilation work is required.
