"These guys did a great job. The tiles in my kitchen had popped up, but I had 18 extra tiles to use. The tile guys were able to save all the unbroken tiles so I still have 15 of my extra tiles left for the next time. They did a great job."

Small jobs welcome

"Mario’s team installed new tile flooring in the bathroom as well as a new tile wall backsplash for the tub area. The bathroom tile is flawless! The crew was respectful; music , noise, and machinery was kept at a low volume. The crew took direction well when we wanted to achieve certain results or features. The floors were protected each day and the entire work space was cleaned up each night."

"If you expect perfection, Home Masters is the company to call. Aaron and Ricardo did an outstanding job on my tiling project—every detail was executed with precision and care. From start to finish, they were professional, efficient, and clearly committed to delivering top-tier craftsmanship. The tile work is flawless: clean lines, perfect spacing, and a finish that completely transformed the space. They respected my home, kept the work area tidy, and communicated clearly throughout the process. I couldn’t be happier with the results. Highly recommend Home Masters if you want the job done right the first time. These guys are the real deal."

"Jeremy Brister (salesperson) was very professional and knowledgeable about the materials, installation process, and financing process. He was very patient with us and took the time to make sure we understood the entire agreement and installation processes and he even checked in with us post-installation to ensure that all was up to our satisfaction. The installation crew (Kyle, Kia, Henry, Jake and Alan) was very punctual on both installation days (2 day installation because we needed a city permit for our remodel), professional, respectful and we really appreciated how mindful they were about keeping the working area as clean as possible. Overall, our expectations were exceeded from start to finish with this shower installation. Thank you to West Shore Home for the amazing experience!"

"Leo and his team professionally prepped our house w rolled paper on the floor and plastic around the kitchen. The contracted drywall replacement, tape, and texture exceeded our expectations. Bid price was lower than others. Final payment request was equal to original bid. A kitchen ceiling replaced A bathroom repair, and A laundry room re-entered. 2 days!"

"Actually it went well. The remodel took 8 weeks & Eric has a very good crew. All the different workers knew what needed to be done. The kitchen cabinets are gorgeous, the quartz counters & backsplash are beautiful & the tile floor is light gray & perfect. I sent my friend a picture & she said it was fancy."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Bathrooms are naturally moisture-rich environments, so choose a durable, water-resistant tile for your tub surround. Porcelain and ceramic are two popular options that are also quite affordable. Glass is another good option that’s also low-maintenance—you just need a glass cleaner like you would use on the bathroom mirror. Natural stone tile is porous, but it’s still a viable option if you choose it in a glazed version.

The tile trim you use will depend on a few factors, including design preferences, budget, and whether the project is DIY or not. You might choose plastic trim if you want an easier DIY job that is more budget-friendly. There are also more color options available in plastic. On the other hand, you might choose metal to match your fixtures or for areas with heavy use.

On average, tiling a bathroom involves about 12 hours of labor, usually spread over two to three days to accommodate prep work and curing times. A professional tiler can often complete the installation in 6 to 8 hours, whereas a DIYer might take 10 to 16 hours. The total project time is influenced by factors like the bathroom layout, tile type, and necessary prep work, such as removing old tile. The process includes specific timelines for different areas; for example, tiling a floor takes about six hours, while a shower area can take six to ten hours. It is essential to allow for adequate curing time—typically 24 hours each—for the mortar, grout, and caulk, which is why the project extends over several days.

There are no unbreakable rules of design, but experts recommend against using large tiles in areas with poor subflooring where they’re more prone to cracking, in areas where the floor isn’t entirely level, over raised areas or dips, and in bathrooms where budget is the primary concern. The size of your bathroom shouldn’t be a reason not to use large tiles; in fact, larger tiles, also known as slab tiles, can be a modern and sleek choice for bathroom floors and walls.

There are several different products that allow underwater repair. Pool putty can help repair chips, cracks, and loose tiles without draining your pool, but it should only be used for a temporary fix. Certain two-part epoxy adhesives will cure underwater, too. That said, while it is technically possible to fix pool tiles underwater, it is usually not ideal, depending on the depth of your pool. You will still have to reach the tile, which means you might have to dive and make the repair while submerged.
