"This was a fairly big job by my standards; replace a double-door lentil (8' wide), restore badly cracked brick above it, and repair a crumbling 2nd story sill. Aaron was able to quote via email with photos and measurements I sent, and his crew performed the work in one day. Quote was fair, work looks great, they cleaned up the site properly and the guys were efficient and friendly with no surprises. 100% will use again."

"Mr. Pintor personally came out and assessed the work needed. Quoted a very fair price and performed the work. The color match was very important factor and he matched it perfectly! We are very pleased with the results and his principals. Will definitely trade with Pintor Masonry again. I highly recommend him for your project. He even came back following week to review the work. Very impressive as I don't know anyone else that does a follow up visit."

"Santiago did an outstanding job on our projects. He perfectly installed our paver patios (2) with great attention to detail. He also did a lot of tuck pointing on our large retaining wall and matched the existing mortar. They installed everything quickly and went above and beyond keeping the job sites clean. We highly recommend him for his masonry skills, attention to detail and friendly demeanor."

"

Forest (owner, Blaney Stonework and Landscape) was one of the best contractors we've ever hired. He is honest, fair and an expert in masonry work.  His experience and expertise in masonry is absolutely evident-  the finished product far exceeded our expectations!   Forest, his crew, especially Walt (foreman), are truly craftsmen.  They are concerned with getting the job done right, not fast.   The crew arrived on time every day they were scheduled to be here.   They were friendly, polite, worked hard every day and cleaned up each day before they left.  They kept me involved in each stop of the process to ensure that I was pleased with how it was proceeding.  Forest coordinated with the sub-contractors, plumbing for gas and electrical and I was pleased with his choices. They were very professional and charged a fair price.  We would hire both subs again for any future needs we might have.   The job was completed on-time and within budget.

We are looking forward to hiring Blaney Stonework again soon to do some additional work on our property!

Customers say: Quick response

"Rudy was prompt and quick to respond to my initial request. He quickly assessed the work to be done and quoted a price. The day the work was to be performed he showed up on time and completed the job as promised. The work was very well done. The new tree wells match the stone work of the previous ones. They look much better too. He and his team also patched the divider walls around the flower bed and replaced a missing brick. Very pleased with the job and would definitely call him for future masonry work."

"Heath and his crew did a fantastic job! We had a couple of half inch cracks over our garage that were only getting bigger. Heath came out when he said he would and gave us a couple of options. We elected to go with concrete piers. Heath and Katie were excellent at communicating the process and performing the work when they said they would. They were even able to save some of our plants. I honestly didn’t expect for any of them to survive. The results were amazing! I highly recommend them for any foundation repair needs that you may have."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Natural stone is formed in deep layers of the Earth through natural processes over thousands of years. The solid composition formations become massive rock beds, or quarries, from which miners extract them.

Yes, it is normal to see some minor hairline cracks in brick or mortar over time, often due to natural foundation settling. However, not all cracks are harmless. You should be concerned and contact a masonry professional for an inspection if you notice cracks that are getting wider or longer, or if new ones keep appearing. Other serious warning signs that can indicate significant structural or foundation damage include large vertical cracks (especially those that widen as they go up), stair-step cracks, L-shaped cracks, and deep horizontal cracks. Factors like temperature changes, moisture, and structural loading can also cause cracks to form or worsen.

Yes, an outdoor fireplace should use fire bricks. Fire bricks are specially designed to withstand high levels of heat and thus won’t crack as easily as regular bricks when exposed to the intense heat inside a fireplace.

Brick is the closest choice when seeking to capture the timeless look of stone with a more practical and budget-friendly option. When comparing stone versus brick siding, the price range of $200,000 to $400,000 for average brick home construction is dramatically lower compared to the cost of building a stone home. If you'd like to keep the stone aesthetic without the cost, stone veneer and manufactured stone are both less expensive than real stone.

Choosing the right paint color for your brick house can be a daunting task. A great strategy is to find painted brick houses that you like and try to replicate the look by researching their colors or asking the homeowners for the specific paint color code.

If you're looking for specific ideas, several colors work well on brick. Different shades of white, such as off-white or cream-white, can create a modern, timeless, and classic look that is unlikely to go out of style. For a more contemporary aesthetic, you might consider a matte black tone. Other popular choices include gray, blue, and sage green.
