I remodelled a house and needed countertops for the kitchen and 2 bathrooms, one with a double sink. Countertops were very professionally installed, and look beautiful. Most in Black Pearl Granite, but one bathroom in white marble. I highly recommend this company for granite and marble countertops. . My parents home was destroyed in the Bastrop Complex fire on Labor day weekend, 2011. At the same time a different fire blazed through out neighborhood and burned all of the one acre forest behind our house. My parents moved in with us and we helped them work thorough the devastation of their lost lives. We then started talking about rebuilding, do we use the old slab, or not? Who do we call? We called the largest builder in our subdivision, we met with them and they didn't really have a plan that would work and they seemed high for the size they quoted. My mom had gotten a letter in the mail from a builder offering his services. My first reaction was " throw it away" as we had heard about all these "fly by night" builders who were trying to capitalize on this disaster. After the deal didn't fly with the first builder I told mom "let's call him" so we did. Mom called and visited with Sanford "Sandy" Meyerson, and he was very personable. He also told her that by coincidence, he had built a small office behind one of our neighbors, right on our street! So of course right away I contacted our neighbor who had glowing reviews for Sandy, and invited us down for a look at his handywork. We were all very impressed with the place and his demeanor, along with his business plan of using local vendors, Plus he belongs to "Angel Wings" which is a group of pilots who flies Cancer patients back and forth for treatment. His house was one of the few that survived in the Tahitian Village community in Bastrop so he was immersed in this disaster. He was also one of the selected builders to participate in the "Extreme Home Makeover" show filmed here in Bastrop. We felt good about Sandy, and proceeded:We had a floor plan from one of our neighbors who had a guest cottage they had built for their parents. They invited us down for a look and it was perfect, albiet a bit small. We have Sandy the floor plan, and asked to blow up the bedroom and living room. The other challenge was getting it to match our house, and to pass our very strict HOA building approval. This was all happening around Christmas time. We hadn't even signed a contract with Sandy and he brought my folks a beautiful gift basket. He worked hard to get the plans to work, and put in the custom features we needed such as ADA features. Then the day came, he was ready to submit the bid. He came over with the contract, and his offer. The price was quite a bit more than we had expected for a small house, but given the bid we got from the first builder, that must just be what it costs. He didn't expect them to decide right away so left us with the paperwork. After some debating, we (well my parents anyway decided to move forward. The construction:First thing I have to say, Sandy takes no shortcuts. I told him of the shifty soil we have and all the neighbors having foundation troubles. He asked for our engineering report from when we built, and once he had it in hand, he just about turned white. "we are gonna beef up that slab" and boy did he. I have never seen so much iron in a slab in my life! The guys he has that does slab and concrete work are amazing. They made little mini ramps built into the concrete by the front and back doors to make it easier for my dad!The construction process has gone smoothly and pretty swiftly. Sandy did all sorts of creative thinking to save money and resources for my folks who were building this with limited resources. One of our neighbors stopped by and I saw him looking closely at the lumber "he uses top grade lumber, this stuff's not cheap" I never even gave it a thought, but asked Sandy and he told me it's not worth saving a bit on cheap lumber. He's also very good about calling and checking with you on small details. He wants it to be right.Today's date: June 15th. In two weeks, it will have been four months since the slab was poured.Construction has gone on at a steady pace. We have since I began this review met all of his subs and seen their work. Every one of them is a master in his/her trade. Some of the things they have done, I have never seen done, like using this little tool that makes every grout line in the outdoor brick, exactly the same depth. It's beautiful. The home should be finished in two weeks. Yesterday they installed the AC system and even that guy from Leon's was very nice, and explained some of the "little extra's" he did to make sure the system is right. I expected the kitchen cabinets would come from a major cabinet factory like Merrilatt or the such, but nope. Sandy has a custom cabinet maker who came over and sat down with my mom, helped her pick the wood and then helped her design her layout. Tile work has been excellent. They have been very creative within mom and dad's budget. Granite countertops were done with such care you cannot see the one and only seam. The concrete guys have done all the flatwork and it's beautiful. They designed it to carry the water from our existing driveway all the way to the end and off into the yard. The house was finished and they moved in the second week of July. The house turned out perfect and the remaining bill was actually less than we expected. We were 100% satisfied with the work, with Sandy and his crews."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/smithville/meyerson-custom-builders-lp-reviews-6564453.htm"},"position":4},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"G&G MARBLE & GRANITE INC","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Gail M."},"reviewBody":"G and G were recommended by my tiling guy as a local family owned business. I talked to Myrna and she came out to measure and give me a quote within 2 days. We did most of our correspondence by email after that. I went out to their shop in Buda to look at remanents to keep the cost down. I chose 1 granite and 1 Silestone counter, both without backsplashes. I did not get them installed at the same time because I wasn't ready but they didn't mind coming out twice. I also changed my mind about the sinks - she quoted me the cost of round sinks, but I changed to rectangular which increased the price a few more dollars. It was a good experience overall. I'm not on any particular time schedule as I'm doing a lot of my remodeling myself, so I can't comment on how fast they were from start to finish. But they showed up when they were supposed to, installed the counters and sinks in a couple of hours (they cut the sink opening on site) and cleaned up when they were done. Two other men did the cutting and installation. The kitchen wasn't perfect but it was acceptable. The bathroom counter, however was a mess. The counter was not a perfect rectangle so we made sure to point out all the considerations to Steve when he measured. His measurements were off so the counter didn't fit correctly. He refused to redo it. We found out later that the standard procedure was to first make a template to prevent these types of errors. He did not do that. I withheld some of the payment in order to hire someone else to finish the job. It was very hard to find someone to do such a small job. Finding a small matching piece of granite was also hard to do so it took us a while to finally get this job finished. In the meantime, Steve had filed a lien on our house because we didn't pay the full amount of the bid. Steve also has a problem dealing with women..He was so rude to my daughter & me, that I had to make sure that my husband was always home to deal with him when he came out. We finally had to hire a lawyer to get the lien released.
Wouldn't recommend thiscompany to anyone."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/bastrop/austin-granite-co-reviews-5813232.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Rick Bailey Construction","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"MICHAEL W."},"reviewBody":"Went well, I had others in past do some work and experienced a nightmare. General contractors, exterior siding, roofing, thermal walls and thermal windows. Complete interior remodeling. Kitchens and bathrooms, flooring and painting. Foundation repair and custom patios
"Alex Blaker and his team were referred to me by ADU small home sales person in Austin Tx. My project was creating additional barrier walls in a home for the PadSplit app. We had to add 3 electrical outlets, as well as connect a clothes washer that required all lines electrical and water to be ran. Alex was cordial, easy to work with and genuinely cares about the work and level of craftsmanship that goes into the project. You will meet Dario and others on his team who are incredibly polite, clean, and efficient. Project was completed in a little over a week. Budget: initial bid around $7800 + taxes, two owner approved add ons elevated the project around $600. (Plug relocation, and dryer vent routing) Payment was made in 3 payments over the life of the project. I like this as it lets you see the project be started first. Alex kept me in the loop every day and came over in person to inspect, and recommend updates to the job. Happy to work with Alex and his team and look forward to working with them on future projects!"

FAQs for marble and granite service projects in Cedar Creek, TX
Installing a marble backsplash costs about $2,200 on average, ranging from $600 to $6,000, depending on the variety of marble and the labor costs to prep and install.
Common types of marble used for backsplashes include:
Makrana: $12 per square foot
Pink: $25 per square foot
Carrara: $40 per square foot
Statuatrio: $50 per square foot
Cultured: $65 per square foot
Travertine: $75 per square foot
Danby: $80 per square foot
Calacatta: $180 per square foot
Marble countertops cost$3,000 on average, ranging from about $2,000 to $5,000, depending on the type of marble, square footage, location, and whether you use tiles or slabs. Another major cost factor to consider is the grading of the marble, which determines its quality level.
Use this grading system when selecting marble for countertops:
Grade A: Nearly perfect with subtle veining
Grade B: Minor flaws such as pits, fissures, or blotches
Grade C: Minor and major flaws like chipping and cracks requiring repair
Grade D: Significant damage needing repair, with dark veining and pronounced colors
Granite and marble compare well against each other in terms of price, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Deciding which one is better depends on your personal style and preference. Both materials resist damage like chips and cracks well. You should seal both material types against staining and etching, but they’re still susceptible if oil, wine, coffee, tomato sauce, or juice are left on the countertop long enough. As material and installation costs range similarly, the deciding factor is your budget, design, and preferences.
Installing granite kitchen countertops costs about $3,250, ranging from $2,000 to $4,000, depending on the quantity and quality of the granite, use of granite tile or granite slabs, the type of granite, and its color and texture.
Varieties of granite include:
Alaska white: $35 per square foot
Ubatuba: $30–$60 per square foot
Silver cloud: $35–$40 per square foot
Absolute black: $45–$60 per square foot
Black galaxy: $50–$70 per square foot
Blue Louise: $70–$100 per square foot
Crema Bordeaux: $80 per square foot
Solarius: $60 per square foot
Overall, granite tends to cost more than marble. Prices for each material will fluctuate depending on the source of the stone, your location, shipping costs, and the thickness of the material. Labor to install marble or granite countertops typically ranges from $35 to $45 per hour.
Granite and marble tile and slab costs compare as follows:
Marble tile: $7–$10
Granite tile: $5–$15
Marble slab: $25–$60
Granite slab: $50–$100
