"Heart of Stone was the first Company to respond. Jerry has passion for design unmatched in the field of stonework. The quality stands out, perfection in every cut and seam. Heart of Stone installed our kitchen countertop and unique fireplace surround within one week after we decided on the granite. We highly recommended Heart of Stone for any large or small job!"

"These guys were terrific! I had previously hired a man who obviously did not know what he was doing, just made a mess and wasted my time and money but, I called Tile & Grout Solutions and told them I needed help ASAP and they responded right away. Within 5 days they had torn out the mess the previous contractor had made in a week's time and installed a beautiful shower, just what I wanted! And WORK? My goodness those boys work, and fast!"

"We had a large crack in the granite countertop in front of a double kitchen sink. Fortunately, we had a couple of cutouts from the initial installation. We were told that the sink would have to be removed to complete the repair. Our technician, Orlando, arrived about 6:00pm. He said he could use the cutout and avoid removing the sink. He took measurements of the cracked section and a cutout. He cut and removed the cracked section, took it and the cutout with him, and returned the next night, again about 6:00pm, with a perfect replacement for the damaged piece. It looks fantastic. Both his insight and skill enabled him to complete the job in much less time than would have taken with the sink removal."

Marble and Granite questions, answered by experts

Unsealed granite is more susceptible to staining and other damage. Regularly sealing your granite countertops decreases the chances you’ll need to repair damaged countertops in the future. It also keeps it looking shiny rather than becoming dull over time. You can check whether your granite needs resealing by putting a few drops of water on the counter and waiting 15 minutes to see whether the water permeates the surface.

Common causes include impact, heat, and improper cleaning agents. Regular maintenance prevents major issues.

Some of the cheapest ways to change granite countertops without replacing them include painting, honing, or changing the finish, covering them with tile or laminate, and using countertop contact paper. Dollar for dollar, applying countertop film is the cheapest, easiest, and most reversible way to update the look of your countertops. No matter what you choose, remember that permanently marring the original countertops can cost you money when you’re trying to sell your home, so make smart choices and preserve the integrity of the granite.

Clorox wipes contain bleach, which is unsafe for use on quartz countertops. When used over time, the bleach will damage the countertop surface and cause it to become discolored or damaged. Instead of Clorox wipes, use a pH-neutral multipurpose solution and clean the surface gently using a soft microfiber cloth.

Sintered stone and quartz are both low-maintenance materials resistant to water damage and scratching. However, quartz can be damaged by temperatures over 150°F, while sintered stone is heat-resistant up to 300°F. Both materials are comparable in cost, so ultimately, the decision will hinge on your preferences.
