"We contracted out our kitchen & bathroom countertops remodeling to Jerry, the owner of Heart of Stone. Jerry provided complete guidance from the material selections to removing old countertops and installation of beautiful quartz countertops. We are extremely pleased with his craftsmanship and his end products. He also volunteered to reuse the old granite and built us an outdoor beautiful buffet table. I highly recommend him for his integrity, his passion to provide the best solutions and his efficiency in project completion. I look forward to working with him again and already recommending him to all my friends ."

"These guys were terrific! I had previously hired a man who obviously did not know what he was doing, just made a mess and wasted my time and money but, I called Tile & Grout Solutions and told them I needed help ASAP and they responded right away. Within 5 days they had torn out the mess the previous contractor had made in a week's time and installed a beautiful shower, just what I wanted! And WORK? My goodness those boys work, and fast!"

"The service and speed with which Stone Designs was able to do my quartz countertop project was amazing. Took less than a week from reaching out and asking for an estimate to final completion. Very fairly priced amongst the other local and bigger box completion. Excellent!"

Marble and Granite FAQs, answered by experts

Professionals remove scratches, stains, and etching, restoring the stone’s natural shine and extending its lifespan.

For most homeowners, quartz and quartzite countertops are similar in price. The average quartz countertop installation costs $80 to $220 per square foot, while quartz countertops cost $70 to $200 per square foot. Of course, there are outliers, like if you choose a highly customized, rare natural stone with high-end finishes.

To remove cloudiness from marble, use equal parts baking soda and water to form a paste. Apply it to the surface, allow it to sit for at least two hours, then wipe with a microfiber cloth. Another option is adding a couple of dish soap drops to warm water and wiping the surface after you’ve applied it to the surface. You may also consider using a liquid stone cleaner.

In most cases, chipped or cracked granite can be salvaged, but it depends on the size and scope of the damage. For example, a pro can smooth out small chips on the edge with polish pads or an angle grinder, but a crack that runs through the stone's surface has little-to-no chance of being fixed easily.

Sintered stone and quartz are both low-maintenance materials resistant to water damage and scratching. However, quartz can be damaged by temperatures over 150°F, while sintered stone is heat-resistant up to 300°F. Both materials are comparable in cost, so ultimately, the decision will hinge on your preferences.
