Throughout the entire process, they were careful and professional to the extreme. In fact, they came back to check that they had not inadvertently caused the hot water heater (also natural gas) was still working. Suddenly the house was cool! A week after installation Rich returned to check the installation and make sure everything was done correctly. As far as I can tell, they care about their customers. It's easy to get them on the phone, and they're quite responsive. Excellent job. Received call on Monday that service would have to be rescheduled - service charge to be waived! Rescheduled for Wednesday. Rick arrived within agreed time. He was a very professional and likeable young man. He briefly explained pricing and then told me he would have to do a survey of house for safety reasons before he began job. After survey he presented me with 3 recommendations: Option A - $1162, Option B - $883 and Option C (my original work request) $386. Since I am selling I only wanted Option C- bonding of water lines to hot water heater. Rick took approximately 30-35 minutes to complete the job. Afterwards we discussed bill as I had a $50 coupon and I reminded him there was no service charge - my bill came to $277. I was happy to get job done but the bill did seem high for attaching ground wire with a clamp on hot water line, one on cold water supply line, and one on the gas line. Remember without coupon and waiver of service call it would have been $386! Would I use Mister Sparky again - maybe but I would do my homework comparing pricing of other companies first.. The two who came out kept me informed of what they were doing as they were doing it and when we needed to add electric they worked with our electrician that very same day. Even though the wrong furnace (a gas one) was delivered they completed as much work as they could on the outside and on the following work day completed the whole job, except for the one grill they agreed to add. I'm still waiting on it. The delay in installing the furnace was fine with me as it gave me time to put a fresh coat of paint in the closet! When they were finished they cleaned everything up and David explained everything to me, also showing me how to use the new thermostat. I would recommend them to my friends and family. We had a little trouble with the thermostat (it seemed to have a problem registering ambient temperature) and AB&B came out twice at no charge to inspect and replace the thermostat. Our utility bills have been reduced by at least $60-$70 a month during the summer since installing the new unit. We have been keeping the house cooler (76* vs 78*) so the savings are on top of cooler temperatures in the house And that is really nice when the outside temps are bustin' 100* with sad regularity. The heating is difficult to determine as I piped propane into the house and use gas heat during the winter. We use the heat strip to keep the house temperature at 68* during the night and use the gas during the day.
We did have a problem late yesterday, 07/13/2011, when the compressor would not cycle on. I called AB&B at 8:30 at night and a technician arrived at 9:00 to check things out. There happened to be a screw on the factory side of the compressor power contactor that had worked itself loose and the compressor was overheating. He cooled the unit down, checked the refrigerant, tightened all the connections, reset all the controllers, and the unit fired back up and is doing fine. I did electrical service work for a few years and, believe me, no one wants to make service calls at 9:00 at night. AB&B did and fixed the problem. I have developed an almost paranoid distrust of service companies, who seem to come out and take your money and deliver little in return. I have learned to do most everything myself, therefore I know who to call or cuss if something isn't done right. However, HVAC is one field I have not attempted to learn. I am glad to have called AB&B when we decided to install a new A/C unit. Their service has been excellent, their work has been trouble free (the problems have been factory related) and, if given the need, I would call them again with no hesitation. I was directed to Cen-Tex via the Carrier website, so gave them a call. The woman that took my call was very cheerful and helpful. First she mentioned they have a service contract you can purchase that gives you two checks a year plus a discount on replairs and parts. I haven't signed up for that yet but intend to. So we scheduled the tech to come out, which he did and was on time. He looked over the system and discovered it was over a pound low on refrigerant. He was concerned since they have no history servicing the equipment and suspected a possible leak. I told him the company who installed it when my house was built, was not certified by Carrier so I was not certain it was at a proper charge to begin with. So he corrected the charge and charged me for the gas. There was even another tech stopped by to make sure everything was going okay and to see if the tech needed help. He also made sure to introduce himself and shook my hand. He then went upstairs to check the furnace/air handler. He said everything looked fine up there. I asked him about room air balance and suggested I call the office to schedule a specialist to check that, I haven't done that yet. He signed off and left, and I could tell right away the system worked better. Then about a month later I discovered an oversight. He had removed both of my media filters while checking out the system and forgot to re-install them, so my system had been running without filters for a month. They are in the attic so is why I didn't notice for a while. I called the office, and they didn't try to make excuses, they right away apologized and had the manager call me. He told me they were going to come out and do a free coil cleaning, plus installed two brand new honeywell filters (about $30.00 each), free of charge..Anyone can make a human error but they made good on it and quickly. "I contracted Andy Kalnasy from Q4U Outdoorz grill to repair the ignition system in my DCS 30" gas grill. Andy charges $60 cash for the grill evaluation and then will send you a summary of the parts and labor needed for the repair. I received his summary of the parts and labor cost ($489.70) to repair the ignition system for a grand total of $547.70. I approved the repair cost and Andy returned a week or so later and completed the repair. I told Andy I wanted to put the $489.70 on a credit card (which they accept per their website) but he asked me if I could write a check instead, which I did. The second time I tried to light my grill there was NO spark coming from the ignition module. I replaced the battery to make sure that wasn't the problem, which it wasn't. So, I emailed Andy and asked him to return to my home to look at the grill, to which he said NO. He indicated he did not replace the ignition button or module and that was probably the problem. He wanted another $150/per hr. to look at my grill again. I asked him if he guaranteed his work to which he indicated "only the parts I replaced". I tried to stop payment of the check but of course he cashed it the very same day, knowing I could have contested a charge on my credit card. So, be aware of this guy and his business practices. Charging someone almost $600 to fix the ignition system and not replacing the ignition button or module is unacceptable! I would strongly recommend NOT using this guy or company."

With Certified Plumbing the professional coming to your home will have 20+ years of plumbing experience. You can count on straight forward pricing and a personal commitment to quality as our work is a reflection of us. Give us a call and you'll see what a low-overhead plumbing service can save you. Certified Plumbing Supports Energy and Water Conservation For Example: Tankless water heating systems are revolutionizing the way modern homes meet their water heating needs. These compact units can produce and supply endless streams of hot water to multiple outlets at once without any fluctuation in temperature. Because conventional water tanks heat and store hot water around the clock, you are heating and re-heating water, and constantly losing energy. A tankless water heater only comes on when you start to use hot water, and immediately shuts off when you are done, so you are not wasting energy. Tankless water heaters have much more effective heat exchanger and burner systems than conventional tanks. This allows you to utilize a much higher percentage of your energy. So much so that there is up to a $300 Federal Energy Tax Credit when you purchase one for your home and for certain residents, TX Gas Service provides a rebate up to $300. Modern tankless units cost more than conventional tank type water heaters, but are a better value. The energy saved typically results in payback in a few years or less. They save money every day, provide a high level of performance and safety, and last twice as long as a normal tank type heater. They save floor space and have a unique flexibility to be placed in locations closer to points of use to further cut energy cost and reduce water consumption. Trip Charge/Estimate: $39.00 - Deducted from final price if you choose Certified Plumbing to complete the work. The Plumber coming to your home will have 20+ years of plumbing experience. "I called Precision (who is also now Fox through a buyout?) to service my AC. They sent two technicians, one of who was very nice and the other not so. The nice technician said up front that it was too cold to get a good reading off the AC, and I offered to set another date. The not-so-nice technician insisted it could be done by wrapping garbage bags around it. They were already out, and the not-nice one was insistent, so I let them look at the AC unit. The nice technician got to work looking at the units in the attic, and the not-so-nice one started asking questions. During the conversation, I mentioned that I had had trouble over the last couple of years because the refrigerant was low, and they were able to add some, and it worked fine. The not-nice technician immediately started talking about a new unit without any diagnostic effort saying that the cost of a new unit might be cheaper than putting refrigerant in. He said that even if it worked, the hole is likely bigger because they grow over time, so it would likely fail anyway. It felt like we were in a verbal jousting match and ended up with the not-nice technician going down to look at the outside unit. He looked at it briefly and pointedly noted that it was missing a sticker that "goes right here." (It looked like he was just pointing at a random blank spot). He said he would have to start putting the refrigerant in and weighing it out because there was no sticker on the unit. I guess there is no way in today's age to get from a model number to information about the specs of a device. At that point, I was done. I paid their service fee and asked them to leave. The parting words from the not-nice technician were, "We wouldn't put in a unit for you anyway." I still don't know how a garbage bag would help, but there you go."

FAQs for gas log service projects in Bastrop, TX
A gas log fireplace should be inspected and serviced as needed once a year. Preventative maintenance can help keep your fireplace in working condition and save money in the long run by avoiding more costly repairs on parts that could have been fixed sooner with a regular inspection.
The cost difference between a gas fireplace and a wood-burning fireplace depends on the type of wood-burning fireplace installed. The cost to install a gas fireplace tends to be cheaper than the cost to install a brick wood-burning fireplace. Installing a gas fireplace costs about $3,600 on average, whereas the cost to build a masonry wood-burning fireplace can go up to $30,000. The cost to install a wood-burning fireplace insert or stove can cost from $700 to $6,500, about the same as a gas fireplace on average.
The cost to repair a fireplace depends on the type, extent of repairs needed, and your location. The average cost to repair a fireplace varies depending on the part of the fireplace that needs work:
Firebox: $160–$2,500
Refractory panel: $200–$300
Hearth: $150–$800
Mantel: $500–$1,200
Pilot light: $100–$350
Igniter: $100–$150
Gas valve: $150–$300
Thermocouple: $75–$350
Thermopile: $75–$350
Yes, it can be worth installing a gas fireplace, depending on your home heating needs. The cost to install a gas fireplace can be much lower than the cost to install a comparable wood-burning fireplace. The convenience of starting a fire with the flip of a switch and turning it off just as quickly makes a gas fireplace a big time saver over starting and maintaining a wood-fueled fire. A gas fireplace also does not require ash cleanup or frequent chimney cleaning to remove creosote and other buildup that can lead to chimney fires. Gas fireplaces burn and heat much more cleanly than wood fireplaces.
A gas fireplace insert costs about $3,600 to install, on average. The cost to install a gas log insert ranges from about $700 to $6,500, depending on the size, type of insert, how it works, and heating needs. Gas fireplaces need electrical and gas lines installed properly, so hiring a pro is recommended rather than trying to DIY installation.
