I can't remember exactly how long it took for the job, but it was a few hours. They cleaned up after themselves as they went. In the end there were only a few sheet rock crumbs under a few of the vents from where they had screwed them back in. They estimated $30/vent, $30/register a.k.a. return, and $225/coils-fan-air handler in the attic. I had 12 vents so it should have been $615 + tax = $665.74. When they came and saw that the coils/fan/air handler weren't that dirty they gave me a discount. I ended up paying $108.26 less than the estimate. I thought that was pretty awesome and very honorable of them. That's what made me call them in the first place. Previously I had an AC leak in the attic that leaked through my ceiling and got my brand new carpet wet. They came to see if I had damaged the new carpet or if it was still wet. They told me that the carpet was dry and no mold was growing, so I didn't need the carpet cleaned. I guess they figure good deeds are repaid and it was. Would I use them again? Yes! I like to have my carpets, couch, and la-z-boys cleaned once a year. Plus Steamatic cleans grout. Would I have my vents cleaned again? Not any time soon. It turns out they weren't that dirty so the dust wasn't really coming from them. We don't smoke. We don't burn candles. We do have pets - two rabbits and they shed about four times a year. We use the Filtrete 1500 3-month electrostatic filters that cost around $17 each - the ones in the purple packaging, and that helps a lot. Plus the ducts are smooth inside (not the accordion foil-like ducts) so there isn't anything for dust to adhere to inside them. The guys showed me cell phone pictures from inside the air ducts and they said they weren't bad. And we have lived here 14 years without cleaning the vents. The house was built in 1966 and I don't know if the previous owners had the ducts cleaned. Am I glad I had the ducts cleaned? Yes! For my peace of mind it is better to know than not know and suspect they are dirty. He made several suggestions - always keeping affordability in mind. Throughout the next three months Pete was at the house to complete various projects. Through it all he communicated with me. I knew when to expect him, how long he anticipated each job would take, and how much the job would be. He always cleaned up after himself. Pete even went above and beyond the call of duty spending quite a bit of time on multiple phone calls with Delta to have them replace a faulty kitchen faucet saving me at least $400. You can't go wrong with Pete. Hiring someone would be a lot easier if all service providers had Pete's work ethic. It's great knowing I won't have to look for another handyman. The two guys mostly kept to themselves but worked extremely hard the whole day. The ended up leaving with everything finished at about 8pm that night. On top of that they only took a 30 minute lunch. All the work they did looked good as it went along. Towards the end of the day we noticed a hole in the ceiling close to the area they had been working in. We pointed it out to them and their supervisor came to look at it. The hole wasn't in an area they had been walking in the attic so it was unclear how it happened since their was evidence of water damage. I felt comfortable with their explanation of the problem and was appreciative that they agreed to take care of the problem at no cost to us.

Shopping at the store for THE right color tile was a pleasant experience. The assistant pulled out every piece near the shade I wanted for closer inspection. And I came home with two tile samples to color test next to adjacent flooring.
The store owner came out two days later to measure and answer questions. He informed me that he would confine the entryway with plastic sheeting and use a high velocity fan to pull dust outside when removing the old tile, but that dust would still filter through, and to expect the need for major cleaning afterwards. He was right... the dust was thick in the adjacent living room. Fortunately I had removed all art from the walls and covered all upholstery with sheets. But even the walls had to be dusted afterwards. Two other adjacent rooms had considerably less leakage around the taped plastic. The crew arrived promptly on the morning the project began. Sheet plastic was taped over doorway openings surrounding entry way to close off the work space. Pathways of floors and stairway were protected with taped down heavy duty brown paper. Bathroom toilets & pedestal sink were disconnected & put aside. Carpet was ripped out of both bath areas. Old entryway tile was broken up with little jack hammer and removed. Membrane was spread on all surfaces to "float" the tile. AND the tile was laid in all areas... all this on the first day. Entry and 1/2 bath were laid in a staggered pattern and the full bath in a straight pattern... both beautifully done. Second day two workers arrived to grout but realized the premixed grout was different from what the contract specified. The store assistant located the correct color in powder form at a local retail store and the job was begun. Grouting under the white wall molding was problematic, resulting in bleeding of the dark color up onto the edge and in the crevices of the white molding. Remedy will necessitate paint touchup later after floors dry. In after thought I have wondered why the moldings were not taped off with painters tape to protect them from the dark grout... maybe concern about the grout adhering to the tape and resulting in rough surfaced grout when tape pulled away. We were instructed not to allow the dogs to walk over tile as nails could make holes in soft grout. Drying time... 72 hours. Four days later, early a.m., the office assitant applied sealant to the grout and cleaned the moldings as best she could. But touch-up painting still necessary. Forster Tile made every effort to please, and had we insisted I believe they would have done the touch-up painting. But we chose to do the painting ourselves. Jason and Zach removed all the cracked tiles and replaced them with new ones (we had them left over from building the house). Zach returned later to match the grout to the various colors it had become after 13 years of wear in different parts of the house. He did an outstanding job. No one could tell where the replacements were placed. The problem: John, the owner, promised us that the work would be done with a "wet method" which would allow no dust to escape. This did not happen. The sticky dust was all over the house. They did throw sheets over some of the cabinets near the work areas and used big fans to blow some of the dust out of the house, but dust was everywhere and very difficult to clean up. In addition, a living room window was left open in their hasty cleanup and we didn't discover it for two days. We are very satisfied with the finished work but did not appreciate the cleanup required by us! This review was written by Helen Tenney. FAQs for ceiling fan service projects in Anderson, TX
Standard ceiling fans are the traditional-style fans made from plastic, wood, metal, or fiberboard.
Smart ceiling fans allow you to control it with your smartphone or voice commands.
Dual-motor ceiling fans have two motors that produce more airflow in multiple directions.
Energy-Star ceiling fans are similar to standard fans but can be up to 60% more energy efficient than other fans, lowering your utility bill.
Large ceiling fans work best in large rooms where the ceilings are between 10 and 25 feet high.
If you need to install electrical wiring for your new ceiling fan, contact a local ceiling fan installer to help with this project. If you’re not a licensed electrician, installing wiring yourself could be a code violation. Even worse, this project can be dangerous if not done correctly.
However, if you’re replacing an existing ceiling fan, and you are an experienced DIYer, you may be able to install it yourself. This option might involve purchasing a special ladder if you have a vaulted ceiling. Replacing a ceiling fan yourself can save on labor costs, but if you aren’t handy, be sure to call a pro.
Not every ceiling fan is best suited for every room type. The size of the room dictates the size of your ceiling fan. Consult a ceiling fan installer to determine the right fan for your room and reference this sizing information:
Rooms smaller than 75 square feet require a fan of 29 to 36 inches.
Rooms from 75 to 175 square feet require a fan of 42 to 48 inches.
Rooms from 176 to 350 square feet require a fan of 52 to 56 inches.
Rooms over 350 square feet require a fan of larger than 60 inches.
The time it takes to install a ceiling fan depends on whether you have existing wiring. If you’re swapping out one ceiling fan for another, it’ll take one to two hours for your ceiling fan professional to make the switch. However, if your ceiling fan installer needs to install wiring or if it's a difficult installation—places like high ceilings, porches, or attics—it could take up to four hours for complete installation.
The cost to install a ceiling fan is $250 on average, ranging from $85 to $605 or more, depending on the fan type and size and if additional wiring or switches are required.
Standard fans are typically the most cost-effective, ranging from $50 to $300 to install. Complex ceiling fans like rotational fans with a dual motor are usually the most expensive to install, ranging from $200 to $1,500. It’s important to note that installing a ceiling fan in a room without existing wiring is a very complex job that could cost up to $2,000.
