We have 18 Employees, and numerous installation crews. We require all jobs to be paid in full prior to installation. We have credit available to customers who are approved through GE Capital.

"Started off poorly. Once management was made aware, the communication improved temporarily, but ended where it started. The house was left a mess with plastic and tile bits everywhere. I took a picture abd showed them. Tile was missing and had to be reordered at their expense. Tile was laid in the wrong pattern (even though it was stipulated in the contract), and so it had to be pulled up and relaid. Overall, a really bad experience."

At Lone Star Patio, we always work closely with our clients to ensure they get exactly the patio cover they want. We will give you an all-inclusive, guaranteed price quote, and handle any filing for necessary permits to ensure a professional, courteous, quality installation. In addition, we stay within manufacturers' specifications & local prevailing building codes. Our Estimates are FREE whether you need us to come out to your home or if you are just shopping & want a ballpark figure for a patio cover over the phone or e-mail us at [email protected] with your dimensions and ideas...we will get back to you with an estimate within 24 hours.

"I put a 12' x 33' concrete slab at the back of my house in preparation for a sunroom and then got visits and bids from several installers in the Austin area. In a previous house some years ago I had had a moderately unpleasant experience with a nationally known sunroom installer because of leaks and maintenance and, this time, made careful plans in advance. I considered a wood framed structure but the cost would have been 1.5 - 2.5 time more. I chose Lone Star Patio. They installed a beautiful aluminum sunroom over the slab (11 windows + a cabana door) with electrical outlets/fan/light. Peter Garcia, the owner, had a personal hand in almost everything that got done. He is easy to communicate with and responds promptly to texts, emails and phone calls. The person who manually did the installation, Sean, is a perfectionist (and also a really nice fellow). The electricians - subcontractors - were so good that I will call them myself if I need electrical work. Peter knows how to choose good workers. There were some significant delays but these were due to weather and matters beyond Lone Star Patio's control. There is a 5 year labor warranty from Lone Star Patio + longer materials warranties from Norandex (for the windows) and PGT (for the door). Overall, we are very happy with results and I trust the company to provide maintenance, if it's needed during the warranty periods."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

If the fan doesn’t have a switch, connect the white wire from the ceiling to the white wire from the fan; connect the green wire to the ground wire; connect both black wires; and connect both blue wires. If yours has a switch, the white and green wires are connected the same way. However, connect the ceiling’s red wire to the light’s black wire and the ceiling’s black wire to the fan’s black wire.

The most efficient ceiling fan height is 8 to 9 feet from the floor to the fan blades. For ceilings higher than 9 feet, a downrod can be used to lower the fan to the optimal height. This positioning ensures adequate air circulation and maximizes the cooling effect. Remember, fans should be installed at least 7 feet above the floor for safety.

Though possible, installing a ceiling fan yourself requires electrical knowledge and confidence working with home wiring. Following the manufacturer's instructions carefully and observing safety precautions are crucial components of a DIY installation.

Yes, you can install a ceiling fan where there is already a light fixture. The electrical wiring needed to install a ceiling fan is similar to that of a light fixture. Before you make the swap, consider whether you need an extension rod and whether your ceiling is on an angle. You will need a fan-rated electrical box to ensure that your ceiling is sturdy enough to handle a spinning fan.

Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.
