Professionalism, quality, cost-I couldn't be happier!

Robert (Pete) Peterson came to our home and looked at the project, made some suggestions, including rebuilding and reorienting our gate. He provided an estimate by the next day and we scheduled to have the work done. He was able to get us into his calendar (within two weeks) and completed the job in one day. He recycled as much of our previous materials as possible, saving us some money, too. He came back the following day to make a few adjustments (at no charge) and added an additional safety lock for the gate. Pete was even willing to make some adjustments to our ill-fitting front door to make the latches work better, and answered some questions for a neighbor. He truly is a handyman, specializing in carpentry!

It's amazing how quickly these gentlemen can assess and fix any problem we throw at them. The outdoor ceiling fan just needed an additional screw, the shower door and handle needed tapping (gingerly) back into place and the toilet needed a replacement part. All work was complete within about half an hour so the charge was parts plus only a half hour of labor. These remain some of my favorite gentlemen with whom to work. I'm so grateful for all they do for us.

We contacted Pete after reading his many excellent reviews, and set up an appt. for 6-11-16. Pete & his brother, Chris, arrived promptly & on time, as agreed. They immediately got to work. They replaced 4 older ceiling fans (3 interior, 1 exterior) with new Hunter fans; replaced kitchen faucet & added new soap pump in sink deck; adjusted & realigned a door that was difficult to open/close; installed a new 3" wood blind over kitchen sink; removed 2 chandeliers & installed 2 new overhead light fixtures in their place; installed 2 new wall switches with dimmers, hauled away a large desk to goodwill; picked up & delivered a fridge & loveseat to us; predrilled & installed 60 new cabinet pulls on kitchen cabinets/drawers, rehung 2 kitchen cabinet doors; installed 2 new toilet seats, programmed 2 new garage door openers, repaired a leaky shower valve; converted 2 fluorescent light boxes to incandescent recessed lighting and we are still adding to the list! Pete was also very respectful of our home & cleaned up all work areas after completing each task. He will be returning tomorrow (6-28-16) to tackle several more updates/repairs we are directing his way. He is replacing all wall switches, plugs & switchplates in home (updating all to white), removing an unused satellite dish from roof, installing a new recessed light in bath, replacing some rotten wood trim around side garage door (where misdirected sprinkler head left door always damp), and the list goes on!

Came back from Thanksgiving vacation and had 3 fence panels down.  We contacted 4 different vendors on 12/1 and Pete was the only one who responded.  He was able to come by on 12/2 and provide an estimate.  We had similar repairs done before and Pete's estimate was in the same range, so we scheduled the work for 12/3.  Pete came by on 12/3, completed the work and cleaned-up so that everyone was as it was prior to the work performed.  All communication was done via phone/text and Pete responded in a timely manner and was courteous and professional.  We will be asking Pete back to do some additional repairs once we settle into the new year.

Pete came over and gave me an estimate for the cost of repairing a leaking shower faucet and also installing an overflow for my water heater.  The estimate was over $100 for both jobs.  The final cost was $81.51.  Pete was very professional and polite.  I will definitely use him again for handyman jobs.  Highly recommend.

YES, as incredible as it may seem, what you've read in all the other reviews is true: THIS IS THE ONLY HANDYMAN SERVICE you will ever need.  I've already recommended Mr. Pete Peterson to several people, one of which has already hired him do some work at her house - which he did to her great satisfaction.
On their Tee-Shirts is the Slogan: We Can Do Almost Anything!  IT's TRUE!
Did I say AMAZING!?!! Handyman for Hire was a god-send for us.  The words come easy when writing a negative review; it's much harder to put into words just how happy I am that I FINALLY FOUND A HANDYMAN Service that is reliable, trustworthy and actually know what they're doing.
Pete promptly returned phone calls/texts; showed up on time and did what they said they would [and more] at a very fair price.
These two men worked with great efficiency. They were mindful of their surroundings and picked up after themselves, keeping everything neat as they went along.  It was amazing to see these guys work - it was obvious they knew what they were doing, how to do it and they did it all quickly, tirelessly.  
Several of the projects they did for us was fixing shoddy work by other "handymen". Pete and Chris even took the time to answer questions I had about some small projects I was "trying" to do.  
They didn't flinch when I remembered about things that were not on the list I had made up of Things To Do.   What a joy to not have to stress out about whether they were doing things correctly or not.  
Would I use them again: You bet I would - no doubt about it!!

I was happy with the entire experience with Pete.  I called him this morning after reading the reviews on Angie's List.  He was able to work me into his schedule this afternoon!!  He was pleasant and easy to work with and the work was competed during the first visit.  I will be calling Pete again.

This is the second time I've hired Pete for handyman services and I still cannot say enough good things about him. He responded to my request timely, arrived when he said he would and made sure he knew where to come (new house not yet on any maps). He and Chris assembled all three items VERY quickly and efficiently and even cleaned up what little mess there was afterward (dispensing with packaging in which the items were delivered).
What makes him special is not only his very fair pricing, but his attention to detail and ability to adjust and improve on a project. As an example, when they opened the package containing the garden bench,t hey noted one broken piece and a small splintering of the seat in the back. They fixed the broken piece, removed the splinter, sanded down the splintered area and used a 'staining pen' to blend the coloring with the rest of the bench. They tested the bird baths, emptied them out, dried them and then put them in our little storage area (we have cats and are anticipating arrival of a landscaper to set up a 'cat-proof fence' in one corner of our back yard where the bird baths will be placed...birds get watered and bathed and cats have a show...nobody gets eaten).
I said it before and don't mind repeating myself, if you need the help of a handyman, do yourself a BIG favor and hire Pete.

Pete is a terrific handyman. He's affordable, prompt, friendly, talented, and particular about the quality of his work. Pete first came to us to install ceiling fans. He immediately contacted me with his estimate and availability. After Pete installed the ceiling fans, we discussed options for mounting the TV. He made several suggestions - always keeping affordability in mind. Throughout the next three months Pete was at the house to complete various projects. Through it all he communicated with me. I knew when to expect him, how long he anticipated each job would take, and how much the job would be. He always cleaned up after himself. Pete even went above and beyond the call of duty spending quite a bit of time on multiple phone calls with Delta to have them replace a faulty kitchen faucet saving me at least $400. You can't go wrong with Pete. Hiring someone would be a lot easier if all service providers had Pete's work ethic. It's great knowing I won't have to look for another handyman. I've got Pete's number and I'm not losing it!

If you must hire a handyman, you MUST hire Pete. I read prior reviews regarding his work and thought, "yeah, right, nobody's that good". BUT HE WAS...IS. 
Not only did he assemble two still-in-the-delivery-box pieces of patio furniture, he let me drop them off at his house (because I had not yet closed on my new house and really had nowhere he could pick them up), but he delivered them to my new house a day or so after closing when he came to install the 'cat fence'.
You're probably wondering what a 'cat fence' is, right? Well, it's basically coated-wire netting on 'rocker arms' that get attached to an existing fence and prevent our indoor-outdoor cats from leaving the safety of their new back yard.
Pete worked long hours in cold, wet weather to install the fence (including some additional wood planks running horizontal at the bottom of the cedar fence to close off any holes through which our cats might have been able to squeeze). He even went out of his way to do price comparison shopping to get the best deal on the lumber.
I was especially impressed that he took the time to open all the boxes in which the fencing was delivered, assure himself all the pieces were there (except screws which he bought and brought with him...note that he paid attention to the fact that these screws needed to be rust-resistant because they were going to be in the weather 100% of the time).
The price he charged for all the work he did was MORE than fair.
Bottom line: Pete is a gem. Do yourself a favor and hire this gentleman as soon as you can.

Pete was great, and we would definitely have him back.  He really knows his stuff, and is a pleasure to work with.  Weather thwarted us from getting projects started, but he kept in touch and used the time to price out some additional options for us.  Although Pete calls himself a handyman, his advice on design and materials was excellent, and you really get the benefit of his experience.
We have had lots of compliments on our new porch railings, from neighbors, friends, and random dog-walkers.  It looks great, is very sturdy, and goes with the old porch amazingly well.  
Similarly, the trim of the dishwasher is exquisite; Pete went to Ikea to get a piece of material that would match the cabinets, so it looks as if it were all done at the same time.
Pete works incredibly hard and fast -- the projects do not drag on, he gets things done.  He is also very neat and cleans up after his project very carefully.  
I strongly recommend Pete -- we will definitely have him come back for other projects.

Pete returned my initial call promptly. He showed on time (actually 10 minutes early), and did an awesome job. We will use him again for jobs around the house.
