"The guys that came out were great. Very professional and very kind. They did an excellent job mounting my 60" TV. All wires are hidden and it looks great. I am already planning to have them out in the next week to mount another TV outdoors. I would highly recommend them."

"Mike was the technician.  He arrived on time and was friendly, polite and professional.
I wanted 4 light switches changed and a can light changed to a regular light fixture.  i had all of the materials.  He quoted $845.00.  Ouch!  I said that was very high for relatively routine work.  I asked how much just to change the light switches.  He said $100.00 each.  I wanted them done this week, so reluctantly, I had him do them.  However, I declined to pay almost $400.00 more to change the light fixture.
Given some of the Angie's List specials of $75 -$89 for installing a ceiling fan, I believe On Time is way too expensive for simple tasks that took a few minutes each.
Mike was very good to work with, but I will not use On Time Electric, Inc. again.

"Allen was in the area for another job and swung by to replace the light switch the same day I called. AND, he didn't charge me a dime. I've used them before and Allen's son came out to install 2 outdoor light fixtures. Always high quality work for reasonable cost."

"Mr. Abraham did an excellent job assembling furniture, installing a ceiling fan, and installing a blind. His is very efficient, professional responsive; on time; shoe-covers over his shoes; mask-on-face,) friendly, and his prices/rates are fair & reasonable. I would certainly recommend him to others looking for handyman services."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

If your home already has wires for a ceiling fan (and optional light kit), then it’s quite safe to wire and install it yourself. Always be very careful to shut off the power before you begin, and confirm that the power is safely off with a non-contact voltage tester before touching anything. It’s also highly recommended to use eye protection, rubberized gloves, and tools with rubber handles to keep yourself safe from electric shock.

For a 12x12 room, a fan between 36" and 50" will work, as it falls in the range for spaces up to 144 square feet. These size fans provide adequate air circulation and ensure a comfortable environment without being overpowering. Even better, they come in a broad range of styles, offering aesthetics and functionality, making them suitable choices for maintaining an ideal room temperature and enhancing overall comfort.

Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.

When choosing a mounting bracket, you have the option between flush mounts and downrod mounts. Flush mounts are the better option for low ceilings as they feature a lower profile. Downrod mounts are the optimal choice for rooms with high ceilings as they offer a pole that adjusts the height of the fan.

Yes, you can install a ceiling fan where a standard light fixture is, as the electrical wiring is often similar and may not need to be replaced. The most important step is to ensure the ceiling can support the fan's weight and motion. You will need to replace the existing light fixture's electrical box with a fan-rated electrical box, which is specifically designed to handle the extra weight and vibration. These boxes will be labeled as suitable for ceiling fan support and will indicate the maximum weight they can hold. Before you begin, also consider if you need an extension rod for a high ceiling or a special mount for an angled ceiling.
