"We'll see if it makes a noticeable difference in our well-being, but our peace of mind has definitely been improved by the vent cleaning. Highly recommend Air Specialties for the job. They showed up on time, worked their a**** off, got up into the attic and cleaned the actual trunk lines, took a lot of videos and pictures to show their results, and eliminated a lot of mold and dirt residue. Very professional, friendly, and they only do one job per day to make sure they take as long as it needs to do a thorough job."

"Very professional and prompt. This was the second time Brown's Heating & Air has come out to look into an issue for me, and both times I was very pleased with the quality of the work and the communication. Fair, upfront prices, no BS (unlike I've had to deal with when I've hired some bigger companies). I highly recommend. It is now our go-to for all our heating and AC needs."

"I cannot share enough good things about Martin with CM Walter Heating and Air. We recently had a routine AC check done and our AC unit was really noisy after and not functioning like it should. We called CM and he came out same day within the hour of the phone call and spent the entire day making sure our unit was fixed. He is extremely professional and kind- even took his shoes off before he came in the house! We will absolutely be using him for anything that pops up in the future! Don?t look at anyone else, call now!"

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, mini-split or ductless AC systems add value to a home and do not devalue it. They are an attractive feature for potential buyers, especially in older homes without existing ductwork, as they provide a practical air conditioning solution without the significant expense and hassle of installing traditional ducts. Ductless systems also eliminate issues associated with conventional ductwork, such as noise and the potential for pests. Furthermore, homeowners value energy-efficient solutions, and mini-splits offer high efficiency for both heating and cooling, plus zoned temperature control. This leads to lower energy consumption and reduced electric bills, which is a major selling point.

To reduce AC startup power for a whole-house generator, install a soft start kit or hard start capacitor, which lowers the initial surge by gradually ramping up the compressor. Using a smart load manager can also help by staggering startup loads, preventing a system overload and future costly repairs.

No. HVAC, which stands for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, includes all of the systems that work together to regulate a building’s temperature and humidity levels. In comparison, air conditioners only provide cooling. You can have an air conditioner as part of your HVAC system, but not all HVAC systems include air conditioners.

A new HVAC system combines components to control indoor temperature and air quality. Features include a furnace or heat pump and an air conditioner or evaporator coil, depending on the climate requirements. It also involves a network of ductwork for air distribution, a thermostat for temperature regulation, and electrical connections. Air purifiers or humidifiers can be integrated to improve indoor air quality.

No, it's not safe to keep using your unit when it's frozen. Not only can running a frozen unit lead to damage, but it can also potentially overheat, making it a fire hazard. Therefore, it's always best to turn off the AC unit as soon as you notice any ice.
