Customers say: True professional

"So many in-home plumbers, electrician, in-home workers generally. take so long to respond to an inquiry which I find frustrating. But Robert Johnson responded promptly. And was professional and responsive.throughout. He installed a 50 tank perfectly and then tried to replace a leaky sprayer o our kitchen sink.. The hose wasnâ  t compatible with the existing faucet but he spent considerable time trying to interchange the parts so he could make ie work.- he didnâ  t charge for that but is coming back to install a new kitchen faucet. I wouldnâ  t hesitate to call him again and would recommend him to friends and family"

"Internet connection was weak, garbled communication. But, they remained very professional and we could crack a joke every now and then when things got annoying. Once up and running the diagnostic test was done in 5 min. Confirming my suspicions. Part number was sent within minutes."

"Although I had 3-quotes out, Mr. Rooter Plumbing called to coordinate an appointment while one of the other plumbing company was working on it already. Yes, I would still use the next time because I haven't had a bad experience with them and wouldn't expect too."

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

Asbestos testing takes place in two stages—collection and lab testing. Collection can take less than 20 minutes if a professional manages to get a direct sample. If air samples are required, then the pro will set up a testing device and return to collect it. In both cases, the sample is sent to a lab and results are confirmed or denied usually within one to two days.

It is not recommended to drill into asbestos siding because doing so can release hazardous asbestos fibers into the air. The safest way to handle asbestos-containing materials is to have a professional remove or encapsulate them.

Professional asbestos testers or environmental consultants are the best people to call to test for asbestos. An asbestos testing company specializes in collecting and analyzing samples and will be the most qualified to do the job for you. An environmental consultant may not specialize in handling asbestos, but should still have the knowledge and know-how to safely collect a sample and send it off for analysis.

Asbestos is a carcinogen, meaning it increases the risk of cancer. Inhaling asbestos fibers is linked to several respiratory issues, including asbestosis, or scarring on the lungs, lung cancer, and mesothelioma, another type of cancer. There's also a link between asbestos exposure and an increased risk of colon cancer and other cancers of the digestive system.

Usually, the people most at risk for disease related to asbestos exposure are those who spend a lot of time working around the material without protection. Electricians who work with asbestos wire have a higher risk of developing mesothelioma or lung cancer due to their exposure.

The signs of asbestos exposure are often subtle and may not appear for many years, or even decades, after initial contact. This long latency period is one of the primary dangers associated with asbestos.

When symptoms do manifest, they can include:

  • Shortness of breath

  • A persistent, dry cough

  • Chest pain or tightness

  • Fatigue

  • Wheezing

  • Weight loss

  • Difficulty swallowing

  • A dry, crackling sound from the lungs when breathing

These symptoms are non-specific and can be mistaken for other respiratory conditions, making diagnosis challenging. Prolonged exposure can lead to serious diseases as the asbestos fibers cause scarring and inflammation in the lungs. These conditions include asbestosis, lung cancer, and mesothelioma.

Due to the vague nature of early symptoms, regular medical check-ups are crucial for anyone with a known history of asbestos exposure, particularly in an occupational setting. If you suspect asbestos is present in your home, a professional inspection is recommended.
