  • Atlanta DogWatch Hidden Fence
    5.0
After much research we chose DogWatch to install a hidden fence around our back and front yards for our Australian Shepherd. The installer, Landon, listened to our concerns and helped us come up with a plan that worked for our dog and our yard. He left both our yard and the area in our garage where equipment was installed clean and neat. Sarah worked with us to train our dog. She was patient and answered all of our questions. She has even reached out to us several times to make sure we were making progress. Our Aussie quickly learned the boundaries. We have enjoyed seeing the pleasure she gets from “running the yard”.

The positives: The carpentry work was excellent, cost was fair, fence looks wonderful, and the clean up they did was slow but completed. The negatives: These are minor things but I feel they need to be mentioned. We were given a time estimate that did not match up to the actual time it took to get the fence torn down and a new one built. This became a hardship for us as we had no secure area for our dog for 7 days. We had been told it was a 3-4 day job, but only one man was sent to tear down the old and build the new. With the exception of the last day he worked, he stayed less than 4 hours at a time. This meant work was spread across a 7 day period with most days of work being minimal. The majority of the work was all done on the day of completion, and at that point a second worker was there to assist with gate installation for the last hour or so. Communication with the customer is so important. There was only one call made to us during the duration of the work. It was about the expected day of fence tear down, giving us only a half hour or so to prepare. Had they explained to us that they were short staffed or that it might be a 3-4 day job that would span 7 days, I think we would have been more understanding and less frustrated with our time without a secure area in our backyard. When I called one day to ask when the worker would be back (since he did not show up daily in succession), the office worker didn't know when he would be returning and offered to call back when she did know. She never called back. They have room for improvement in terms of their communication with the customer. I would also recommend not paying them to do the haul away of an old fence, because it's possible they won't remove the debris from your property for several days (ours sat for 6 days), and individuals in the community may come and take the debris you were contracted to pay the company to remove. Also, if your city's large trash pick up removes it before the company does, they may not be willing to fully refund you the extra amount you were contracted to pay for the haul away service. (On our quote it was $100 more to haul off our property than just moving the debris to the curb). I confronted them about this and was told after we had signed the contract they would only give us $80 of that $100 back if the city took it before they took it off our property. Overall we were very pleased with their service, but they do need to make some improvements in their customer communication and let the customer know up front that it may take them longer to complete the work and that it may take them several days to haul any debris away.

I have worked with Homes Construction & Fence Co. twice now, once for a wooden privacy fence, and most recently for a black chain-link fence. In both cases, the crew fast fast, did a great job, and were in and out in less than two days. I would highly recommend this service to anyone seeking a fencing pro.

Earl Holmes and his team (Tyler and Victor) installed 408 linear feet of black vinyl coated chain link fence in my back yard. He and his team did excellent work and paid attention to every detail. His price was reasonable and very competitive. The fence looks great. Earl is a unique and colorful personality who likes to talk and tell stories while he works, if you happen to be out observing the progress. They were all very friendly and helpful and made useful suggestions.

It all came together in the end. We had a couple delays due to staffing, but Patrick did work with me on installing the fence in the concrete that was being poured. We had some problems because it was around a pool and he didn't seem that knowledgeable about pool requirements in Hamilton County, so I provided the latch and hinges. I had to move the latch up myself to get through inspection. The reason for the B is because he wanted full payment up front and I thought that was weird and left me at his mercy to finish. But he did and it's all good now. I would hire again.

  • Epic Construction & Install
    1.0
This is a warning to all potential customers- Do not hire Epic Construction and Fence Install to do any work for you. This is the high quality Jasper Manis and his crew will do. You can find multiple reviews of the same horror story I'm going through online. This fence has been a work in progress for over a month. The wobbly posts have been in the ground for weeks. Many of the holes weren't even filled with concrete, but instead filled with dirt covered with dried broken pieces of concrete. The screws are the wrong type for the job being done. My yard was littered with trash, pieces of metal and wooden fenceposts, chain link scraps, screws on the driveway, as well as tools and materials for WEEKS. This has been a nightmare, so please share this so that no one else has to experience the same terrible fate that has befallen their customers as far back as 2018.

Scheduled an appointment for a quote and the appointment time comes and goes. After waiting over an hour, I finally call and Lance Beaber (the owner) answers and says they have no record of the appointment and that it may have slipped through. Not OK but, I understand things can happen. Once he arrives we go over the details of the job. It was not a fenced yard so, this will be 340ft of brand new fence and there will be no existing fence to remove aside from 43ft of rotting safety fence above a retaining wall. It is understood it will be removed and replaced. There was ZERO mention of the removal costing more or having any additional charge. I am quoted $7440 for the job. We agree to the contract and I put 50% down. 8+ weeks later the materials are finally in and ready to be installed. His guys show up, they ask me if the existing fence above the retaining wall is being removed. I confirm "yes" per the discussion Lance and I had at the time of the quote. It's so rotten, it only takes them 20-30 minutes to knock down. After 2 days, the fence is completed and I'm fairly satisfied with the end results. My wife even brought his workers doughnuts as a thank you. A couple days later, Lance sends me a text making sure everything is OK before he sends the final invoice. I reply, "Yes! Everything is great and the guys did a great job!". Still ZERO mention of any changes. I receive the invoice and it's now $250 MORE than what was approved or contractually agreed upon. When I ask him about it, he says it's for the 43ft of fence he removed. I told him at NO TIME was I made aware of there being an additional charge for it and assumed it was included in the original quote per our conversation. He replied, sorry it's not on the quote, it's not included. I told him that it wasn't right to just arbitrarily tack on additional costs without speaking to the customer first. It's even in his contract that NO CHANGES can be made without approval from both parties. Even though he's the owner, he said he couldn't do anything about it. He didn't care. He just stuck it on the bill and hoped I'd just pay it. He tried to tell me it was my fault for not asking or ensuring that the removal was included. WHAT?! At over $7400 and ZERO mention of it AT ANY TIME. No sir! He breached the contract and tried to scam me so he could pocket an extra $250. He was so care-free and nonchalant about it, I have NO doubt he's done this sort of thing to other people. When I told him I would only pay what we mutually and LEGALLY agreed upon, he replied "Well, on the up side, that's one less fence I have to warranty down the road". So, because I won't let him extort another $250 from me, he's no longer going to honor any warranty? How is someone like that still in business?? Terrible experience and horrendous customer service. I'm guessing he's changed the company name, probably because of other shenanigans like this as Lance Beaber is FENCE MASTERS as well. There are LOTS of other fencing companies out there. Save yourself and your wallet the trouble and PLEASE find someone else.

The workmanship was excellent—I now have a beautiful fence that will last me more years than I will own this home. The gentleman that ran the fence construction was just great—on more than one occasion he brought his sons out to help just to make sure the fence was completed in a timely manner. If you find yourself needing a fence this is the company to call.
