"Handy Co. did such a great job my Wife moved out of the Master Bathroom and into the Guest Bathroom we had remodeled. The install consisted of gutting the bathroom, installing new tub/shower, new fixtures, new vanity, plumbing, marble 4x12 floors in a Chevron pattern, crown/base molding, and a frameless shower door. I had received several quotes on the bathroom and Mike was the best option (He also wasn't one of those painful sales presentations). He allowed us to purchase our own parts (if you have a wife you understand how important this is). Handy Co. definitely beat out all the other full bathroom remodel companies in the area especially since they are a locally owned small business. Highly Recommend and will use his skills again. "I called them b\c my AC quit working. When the tech came out, I was at work so he dealt with my wife. It was a loose wire and a stuck contactor! There competition came out and fixed for $60!! Seems like the "Davis Difference" between other companies is to replace parts that are fine and overcharge people for them, but don't know how to do basics like CHECK TO SEE IF BREAKER IS ON"

"I have emailed and texted this company numerous times to get my paperwork for a very expensive job and they will not even answer me! I wanted the exact measurements and stats of air pressure test. (It seems like they don't have it). They installed a filter that was too big for my house and I had air flow problems for three months. My electric bill was three times the amount it should be and they blamed it on imported parts in the unit and Duke energy. I had to get other companies to come find the problem b/c they couldn't fix it. Turns out emergency heat had been running. When they installed unit in 2018 they broke into meter box and installed new breakers and electrical panel for more amps without pulling a permit . I do not feel confident in their electrical work and the installations of unit and ducts was definitely subpar and over priced. There were numerous other issues encountered over the past months with their work. I was lied to and they didn't live up to everything their website claims they "offer". It was the worst experience and headache I've ever had with a company."

"If I could leave zero stars, I would. My solar system has never been up and running properly, and SC Solar has done nothing to help. After paying over $65,000 for a system that is now essentially worthless, I feel completely scammed. All the company needed to do was remove and reinstall the panels after I had my roof replaced. Instead, they left exposed wires, creating a major fire hazard. Their negligence has now led to severe roof leaks and damages that total over $100,000 ? and they still won?t come back to fix the mess they created. SC Solar claims to pride themselves on their work, but in reality, they are fraudulent, unresponsive, and completely unprofessional. I?ve been left with nothing but financial stress, safety concerns, and a broken system. Avoid this company at all costs."

If you install LED bulbs, they will use much less energy than incandescent bulbs. LED light strips also use less power. Battery-operated puck lights use no electricity at all, but you will need to replace the batteries as needed. They are beneficial if your power goes out, too, as they will remain on as a light source. 

Home power is measured in kilowatt-hours, commonly expressed as kWh. The average home uses between 800 and 1,000 kWh per month. Typically, triple-pane windows made with krypton gas filling are the most energy efficient. A window’s frame, glass, design, and installation all affect its energy efficiency. These windows, in particular, are designed highly effectively in terms of their ability to insulate.

The three levels of home energy audits include:

  • Level 1: Review of your energy bills and home for signs of energy inefficiency and areas for improvement. The average cost range is $0.08 to $0.12 per square foot.

  • Level 2: A level 2 ASHRAE energy audit costs $0.12 and $0.35 per square foot. In-depth analysis of your energy usage and provides a report of cost-saving changes.

  • Level 3: Comprehensive analysis and detailed recommendations for ways to improve your home’s energy efficiency. A level 3 audit costs about $0.36 to $0.50 per square foot.

When combined with a substantial solar system, if you have enough Powerwalls, you could go off-grid and be energy independent. But remember, you'd need enough Powerwalls to power your whole home continuously because a single Powerwall can’t power large appliances for extended periods. One Powerwall is able to power an average-sized home's emergency circuits, lights, and outlets. To power large appliances, you likely need two or three Powerwalls.
