"{Member's name removed}, Your service was done in July of 2015 and thankfully the unit has run correctly till the end of February 2016. We pride ourselves on always over delivering by finding the best solution at the lowest cost and only charging for the exact services we provide. The technicians notes for your service call indicate your system was low on Freon. He weighed in the correct amount of Freon on calibrated scales and only charged you for the exact amount of Freon (2 pounds which is a relatively small amount) that your system had to have to operate safely and correctly. I would like to note we charge way less for Freon than our competitors do as an example of one of the ways we try to over deliver. In fact, our Freon is around 2/3 the cost of what others charge!! Then like you mentioned, the certified technician asked you to call us if the problem continued. We have never received a call back from you since the summer of 2015, that I am aware of, and it is almost March of 2016. Please understand, we try to help everyone to the best of our abilities, but can't do anything to help you if you never contact us and let us know the problem persist. In fact, it could actually be an entirely different problem but their is no way to know without further diagnosis by a certified technician. I am sorry but we don't discriminate in our hiring practices as morally, ethically, and legally this just isn't the right way to run a business. Yes, we hire certified technicians of all body types, including large men. I just wish you didn't personally attack this technicians body type and call him fat as I like to share customer reviews as a means of coaching our employees. By the way, this man is very bright and works hard day in and day out and it is unfair to say he did a poor job when your system was low on Freon and he correctly diagnosed that, corrected the deficiency, and the system ran as expected from July of 2015 to basically March of 2016. As you stated, he asked you to call us back if the system continued to have issues. I wish you would have called us and explained how small your crawl space is as we would have gladly sent the smallest certified technician we have to see if he could fit under your house. Please note, there are some crawl spaces that are so small and / or unsafe they are unserviceable. We are sorry to disappoint you by sending a certified technician that happens to be a large man to service your system. If we would have known in advance how small the crawl space was we could have arranged for someone else to service your system. As you noted, in the middle of our busy summer season, we were very punctual in getting someone all the way from Greenville out to Chesnee when you were having trouble getting anyone else from a city closer to you to see why your unit wasn't cooling. Which, by the way we fixed during our visit. As we indicated during our service call, small leaks are almost impossible to find, but we are more than willing to help you. This is assuming our smallest certified technician can fit under your house. Please call us back and we wont even charge you for the return service call even though the original service was performed in the summer of 2015 as we want to always do everything possible to meet our customers expectations."
Phil is special, he has a technical skill and product knowledge to specify the right equipment to meet our needs that exceeded our expectations. He is a master at understanding where to spend our dollars to get the most benefit. Costly features that sound good but have little payback are vetted by Phil. He knows. He even thoughtfully considered how to maximize our Energy rebates and tax credits by selecting the right eligible products ($950).
The workmanship of the installation was Excellent. Danny arrived on time and completed in the time period (less than 1 day) during the one of the coldest days of the year. The system works great and I could not be more pleased.
Thanks for a Great Job!
My specific requirements were influenced by researching the Duke Energy website. Here?s what Duke, along with many days of research, convinced me that I needed:
14 Seers
HSPF of 8.2 or greater
ECM on the indoor unit
Focusing primarily on cost, I usually have to compromise between what I?d like to have and what is affordable to me. This job would turn out to be a notable exception.
I spoke with multiple contractors. Only EnergySharks would meet my requirements
Phil (EnergySharks owner) and I hashed out the details over the phone. He met ALL of my criteria at a cost of approx 20% lower than similarly rated contractors
I scheduled the removal and replacement work for the following Tuesday. Phil came out to my house two days prior to the install to look over my current installation. He explained that this would allow him to special order any hardware that might be specifically optimal for my house.
He impressed me as being energetic, intelligent and extremely detail oriented.
The lead technician arrived early Tuesday morning, performed another inspection, and proceeded with the typical gas and vacuum checks. He then began the process of disconnecting the old hardware. He was very informative, and showed me a few simple methods I could use to keep my new unit clean and happy!
A short time later, another pair of workers delivered the new hardware. They removed the old hardware and spotted the new units. The heat pump was placed on a new vibration dampening pad. The tech began his piping and electrical work.
All of the workers were polite, respectful of my house and well trained. When you observe what seem to be satisfied workers, it`s a good indication that their employer is treating them fairly and appropriately.
Work was completed shortly after noon, and the unit made its first run. Even with outside temperatures nearing 100°, the new Heat Pump brought the (almost 2000sq`) house into a livable comfort range within less than an hour.
It reached 72° in about 2 hours and never varied from this temp for the rest of the day. I have since settled on 74° as optimal for me.
In my 20 years in this house,(from the time it was brand new) I have never experienced this level of cooling comfort. A long (duct) run that hadn?t been cooling properly for years is now cooling perfectly. For the first time ever, I can actually make my house TOO cool....my only regret is that I didn?t do this years ago
Phil took the initiative to file theTrane warranty for me,and to completely supply Duke Power with all the documentation needed for me to obtain a $200.00 rebate (from Duke).
I could not be more satisfied, and I expect that it will be a long time before walking into my ?cold? house ceases to delight me.
