"Beyond great experience. Great customer service. I originally was interested in tankless. Paul went over everything in detail. He had a better option. I will be using him as my new plumber. No fuss, no muss. Great overall experience. Highly recommend for any of your plumbing needs."

"The plumber, Chris, was very conscientious, extremely quiet, completed the work with the utmost efficiency and attention to detail. The old hot water heater was removed, and, with much concern, wrapped in a waterproof blanket to avoid dripping as it was brought down the stairs and then placed in the truck. (Throughout the neighborhood, other plumbing contractors have left the old tanks junked on the curb, where they sit there for days until the county trucks come by the next week.) Following the installation, he even vacuumed the entire hallway, entryway, and all the stairs. Pink Plumbing is the best service and attention to the home. C.A. Dumond"

"We were very very pleased and will use them again. SCE&G had sent this company, as we the water line replacement program for $4.95 per month, so it didn't cost us anything. I highly recommend this program. And we will certainly use Peeples Plumbing for our future plumbing needs."

"Claudio and his crew were so helpful with our bathroom remodel. They kept the remodel contained to the bathroom, did a great job, and we are so pleased with the final result. The crew was totally reliable and trustworthy. I did not worry about leaving them in our home when I needed to leave. I would recommend them and would use their services again!"

"He did respond quickly but said he could not help us with any of our needs.  If you are a home repair company you should be able to provide home repairs. He told us we needed a licensed plumber, electrician, and roofer.  What does this company do then?  Are you licensed to repair anything?

"They showed up right on time and completed the job without any issues. The team was very respectful of the worksite and went out of their way to make sure everything was clean before they left. I live in a 1960s ranch and expect more plumbing needs in the future—Rafferty will be the only plumber I call."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

It’s possible to snake minor drain clogs yourself, provided they sit within a foot or two of the drain itself, but it’s usually best to hire a professional plumber regardless. Even experienced DIYers have a high chance of accidentally pushing the clog further into the drain using a drain snake or another tool, so hiring a plumber is the ideal course of action. A professional plumber can use camera equipment to locate and identify the clog, and remove the entire blockage to fix your issue permanently.

Draining is the process of removing sediment buildup that has accumulated at the bottom of your hot water heater’s tank. Flushing is a more elaborate process that involves running fresh water through the tank to clean the inside thoroughly. You should at least drain your hot water heater once per year and flush it every other year—better yet, alternate between draining and flushing every six months.

For a long time, copper was our only plumbing material option. Thankfully, that is no longer the case. Copper pipes have been used since the 1940s and became most popular around 1963. It wasn’t until the 1990s that PVC pipes became popular and began to replace copper pipes. Therefore, a house built before the 1990s without recent updates will likely contain more copper pipes.

You can unclog a double kitchen sink by plunging the side with the garbage disposal. Cover the drain hole on the other side first to avoid creating a mess. Plunge up and down until the water starts to drain. You can also pour in baking soda and vinegar to try and dissolve a clog.

During the winter, pipeworks constrict and don't expand until warm weather comes. If it doesn't get very cold where you live, but you're still having a problem getting outdoor faucet handles to turn, there's probably a build-up under the handle. Mineral build-up is especially common in areas with hard water. Limescale causes faucets and stems to become resistant to turning. Worn parts and debris can also make it impossible to turn a faucet.
