"Just moved to Myrtle Beach. The former homeowner highly recommended ARS to maintain the two Carrier heat pumps ARS installed. So we joined the PROS Club @ ARS. Very happy to learn that ARS also does plumbing and electrical. Weâ ve already used Plumber Alan to fix a toilet problem. Electrician Shane installed a whole house surge protector, installed surge protectors on both ACs and both air handlers, and installed a plug at the electrical box for a power generator. Local building codes sometimes require sewer ejector pumps to have their own vents. If so, these dedicated vents run upward through the home and exit through the roof. Otherwise, the pump’s vent pipe can connect to an existing vent stack. Regardless of which method you use, venting is an important part of installing a sewer ejector pump because it helps equalize pressure and prevents gases from building up inside your home.

If the drain is frozen, the pipes connecting to the washing machine are likely frozen. If the hot water trick doesn’t also unfreeze the washing machine pipes, you can gently apply heat with a hair dryer on the lowest setting. Start at the end of the pipe closest to the faucet to prevent pressure from building in the pipes, and make sure the faucet is open to drain the water as it melts.

At $0.40 to $4 per linear foot, PEX is considered more affordable than copper pipes, which cost $2 to $12 per linear foot. PVC is considered appropriate in water lines for cold taps only.
