"Mike's Tree Service is awesome! The cost was fair and the work they did was great! They trimmed back large trees hanging over my fence to let the sun back into my yard. Trimmed up my overgrown Maple Tree and Live Oak and removed a dead tree. I would definitely hire them again."

Small jobs welcome

We are a small family business. I started this back in March of 2024 so that my son, Dad and I can spend time together enjoying what we like doing, Spending time together in the outdoors. We do forestry mulching, lot clearing, dirt work, demolition, driveways, pond bank clearing, debris hauling and more. We currently have 2 skid steers with attachments, a mid size excavator with attachments, tractors and dump trailers. We are licensed and insured. We take pride in our work and seeing our customers happy when their dreams and visions are coming together. We want that lasting relationships and repeat clients. So let H&T Land and Lawn become part of your family.

"Dee’s Landscaping did an amazing job! Quickly after submitting a request, Dee’s reached out and I was able to get a quote the next day and then the leaves were gone the next. They’re extremely kind, consistently communicate during the process, and even sent update photos. I would absolutely hire them again, and plan to!"

"Had a fair price, scheduled for the next day at 9am. They arrived to start work on time but left the trees on my property in an open area. Never heard anything from the owner if or when they would remove the trees from the property. Guys showed up at 7:30pm to remove the trees but I already started burning them because I thought they were going to just leave them there being that I had no communication from anyone. I requested being that they had the equipment on the site and I paid for tree removal if they would just push the trees tighter so they would burn and they refused then left."

"Had four 70-80’ water oaks in our very tiny back yard that needed to come down. Some had termites, one was diseased, all were just fighting each other for light/resources and only growing foliage on one side causing them to lean toward the house. Heartwood did an amazing job getting them all down in a day safely. Bonus points for cleaning up all the mess. Nothing was damaged which seemed almost impossible to me. Erick and his team are the real deal! Very professional and can’t beat the value for the money. Great to have a little peace of mind this upcoming storm season! 10/10 would recommend to anyone even considering a trim or removal!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Although it’s possible, heavy machinery like a crane is necessary for removing an entire tree stump and all. This procedure is extremely costly, time-consuming, and usually unnecessary, as there are plenty of convenient and affordable stump removal options.

Your best bet, if you want to be sure to remove a tree and its stump efficiently, is to speak with a professional. They’ll be able to walk you through the entire process.

For small trees, tree removal should take just a couple of hours to complete. Assume that a mid-sized tree will take between four and eight hours, depending on the extent of the equipment required and the health of the tree. Remember to add up to two hours for stump removal. Larger trees could take as long as one or two working days, about eight hours each.

The safest way to cut down a tree is to make sure you’re completely prepared and have done all the necessary safety checks, including double-checking your equipment is in good working order, you have plenty of clearance to fell the tree, you’re wearing all the safety gear, and you have a partner to help you (who should also be wearing safety gear).

Whether you should remove the roots of a dead tree depends on whether they’re damaging nearby areas. For instance, if the roots continue to grow near sidewalks, driveways, or the foundation of your home, they can cause damage. If you want to plant something else in that spot, removing the roots can make it easier for the new tree or plant to grow.

A few signs a tree may be dead is if the leaves are dead and there are no signs of new blooms. You can also perform a scratch test on some of the branches to check the condition of the cambium layer beneath the bark.

If it is green, it is still alive, but if several are dry, brittle, and brown, the tree may be dying or dead. Always consult an arborist before assuming your tree is dead because you may be able to save it.
