I needed my basement renovated ASAP and Mr. Anthony met with me in a timely manner explaining in great detail the work he would perform and how pleased I would be! Let me tell you he did NOT disappoint because he and his partner Mark performed what I call a â  miracleâ  in renovating my basement and went above and beyond my expectations!!!! Iâ  ve shown many the before and after pictures of what I now can call my family room and the response each time was how â  beautifulâ  of a job Anthony did!! If you are in need a great contractor donâ  t look anywhere else but A & J Contractor and call Anthony NOW! My family still canâ  t believe what A & J Contractor did with that old and in bad shape basement!! Very professional and the many years of experience really was on display!! "This was my third time working with this contractor and each project was a pleasurable experience! As was the case with the other two, they started this project on time and finished on time! All the work was done according to strict Mount Lebanon code. They made suggestions based upon their experience i.e we wanted a six foot high shadow box fence but while Mount Lebanon code allows for a six foot high privacy fence of just about any style, they do not allow, by code, a six foot high shadowbox fence. Steve Hilpert proceeded to build us a 4 foot high shadowbox fence (the maximum height allowed by code) with a custom built 2 foot high trellis section which Mount Lebanon subsequently approved. The fence looks beautiful!
I was nervous about cutting a big hole in the wall of our addition to install the sliding glass door. Now the door looks like it has been there all along! It came out PERFECTLY!
The deck is also beautiful and solid as a rock! We had an issue with the location of our two central air conditioning units off the back of the house. The other contractors (which I found here on Angie's List as well) said they would just build over these units. Not knowing anything about central air conditioning this seemed reasonable to me. Steve was the ONLY contractor who told me that you absolutely CAN NOT block the air flow above the units! Not only that, he was honest enough to tell me that moving the units should be done by a qualified HVAC contractor. Now that is a contractor you can trust!
All work was completed on time and within budget. The same crew arrived early each day and were polite and professional. The job site was spotless at the end of each day!

"Galen is a top-notch professional handyman.  He responded to my Angie's list inquiry almost instantly within an hour of me posting.  He came out at my first opportunity to look at my projects and give me a quote.  His price was very reasonable.  I could tell from my first meeting that he was a honest, hard working man.  After I selected my counter-top and sink, Galen went to Home Depot with his measurements and ordered everything for me.  All I had to do was go out and pay.  When the counter-top was being delivered, and I was unable to be home, he even went out of his way to come over to my house and accept delivery. 
On the day the work was to be performed, Galen and his 2 workmen arrived on time, ready to work. They instantly began work and everything was done much quicker than I even expected.  They worked pretty much without a break and were neat, and precise performing each of their projects.  They made the work day pass with ease.
I would definitely hire Galen again to do the many other projects I have in my home.  I recommend him without reservations to anyone who has home repairs.

"Zach is a hardworking and honest contractor. He replaced some leaking skylights, and repaired a section of roof that was leaking around another. He and his crew put in more than a full days work staying late to finish the job. His price was very fair and I would definitely hire him again. Of note, he also knows his limitations and did not attempt to work on a larger flat roof and gave me some recommendations for someone to call for that. Much better than working on it and having a bad outcome down the road. I appreciated this honesty."
