"[Member Name Removed] has been on of my Best customers over the years. She is very kind and generous and very personable. It is always a pleasure helping her with all her home maintenance needs."
I called Mark after completing a thorough review of his website to understand all of the different types of work he performs, so that I would not be wasting his time. I told him over the phone (and send him a list via email in advance) that I had an extension to-do list and that he could look at the work and let me know which part or all that he wanted to bid on. The list included spot light replacements, gutter cleaning, light carpentry work, light roof repair, staining, painting and plaster repair... In addition there was some tile repair and hot tub trim work that he did not seem interested in, and that was fine. I also had an electrical outlet that needed replaced... he quoted me $ 85 and I declined... (replaced it myself in about 5 minutes). For everything else, probably about 2 or 3 days of work.
He came out and we walked through everything for about an hour. He said he would clean the gutters and change the spotlights that day and that he would contact me within 2 days with an estimate for the other work. He is a pleasant person and it was a nice visit.. I felt that he would be competent in the various work items that we had zeroed in on.
It's now been 2 weeks and I haven't heard a word from him... nothing. It is frustrating to have a contractor come out, take your time and then not even the courtesy of a call.
I don't really want to hear from him now.
"I called this customer many many times as my phone records would show. I can NOT control who receives their messages in their own home. Now as far as the first time I showed up at his home to scope out all the work, I told him up front that I would give him 20 minutes or so to show me what he needed done and that maybe I could even do some of the work today. We agreed on a price for the gutters and spotlights for that day. He was very happy with the price and jobs I completed at a substantial discount as a first time customer.. So, as far as giving me a "D" on price..it just does NOT make sense.! this customers words were "He is a pleasant person and it was a nice visit.. I felt that he would be competent in the various work items that we had zeroed in on....so..why is this rating this way??? OverallD PriceD QualityD ResponsivenessF PunctualityF ProfessionalismF"
Also I only received his estimate the night before he was to begin the work.
"First of all---UNBELIEVABLE!... This Retired school teacher complained every single day I was at her home over the past few years about never having any money...teacher's salary....So expensive...I not only did excellent work for her but always gave her more of a discount than anyone else. I did NOT have too, but I did it anyways . This past experience, which consisted of several different jobs, pressure washing driveway, pressure washing three sides of home, block wall, concrete steps, front porch, rear huge concrete patio, rear wooden steps, and then to paint front porch and seal rear wooden steps was quite a bit of work. $600 for all of this was a real "DEAL"...but she still complained each time I was there. I recently had a surgery which resulted in complications and was not allowed to return to work for two weeks. I notified this person of this by phone and email but did NOT receive a response for several days. I called again and left several messages...it was always so hard to get a hold of her to talk on the phone. Most of the work I was doing for this person for the past few years was correcting horrible work that was performed by "other" so called professionals. I guess she was still mad at THEM and is taking it out on me..??? I do NOT know but I am just SO tired of these ridiculous reviews that are allowed on this website without any review or investigation. I would NOT RECOMMEND this person to ANY contractor...you will be sorry. Just another example of someone who gets a little and wants more, and more, and more. As of today I have several unanswered phone calls and emails that I sent to this person....just saying..."
I was very satisfied with the service. It was difficult to reach him at first because of his busy schedule. He managed to fit my job in on the last warm day of the year. He told me to call him if there were any problems with the work; however. the work held up very well through a very severe winter. I was desperate to get the work done before winter. He could have overcharged me and I would have had to pay it. He didn't; I thought the price I paid was very reasonable.
Having said all that, he was a hard worker and did an excellent job. The end result was better than we had anticipated. We would use him and his services again, but would make sure everyone agreed on a firm price before moving forward next time.
"Hello......The first call I received from this customer was on Sept. 25---I missed that call, but I called back @ 8:15 Sept 26 a.m. the very next morning to schedule a time to scope out the jobs. They were very pleasant and the husband and I are both vets and we chatted a bit...very nice gentleman! I looked at the jobs, left, worked out a quote and called them back a few days later on October 1, 2014 @1:32 pm--only 3 business days later... I was very sick for a few days and I explained that to this customer. We set a date for October 7, 2014---I did say either we could do it now OR we may have to wait for a week or two because of my work load. The customer agreed to this date. My original price of $385 included hanging a heavy mirror and a picture along with pressure washing a heavily soiled and moss covered paver walkway 30 some feet and a heavily soiled and moss covered retaining wall which was over 90 feet long and average of 3.5 feet high. I deducted $45 off of the price because I was informed that a mirror and picture were both hung by a family member...both of which were on the original quote. I called the customer back and gave her the new price and she disagreed with it stating that I said a lower figure....from my original price of $385-----I did NOT deduct a $100 from the quote for just one mirror and one small picture...but for the sake of arguing or upsetting anyone--I conceeded and agreed to the price she stated. They both were very nice people, but---I guess in the future with new customers---I will need a signed Estimate agreement before I start any work..this way absolutely no questions on price or scope of work. Thank You, Rogo's Handyman Service LLC"
"Thank you for the great review. It was a pleasure to help your mother out. My mother and her were classmates so it was pretty cool to install those stairs for her. Thanks again, Mark"
Included cost of check valve.
"It always amazes me that when people agree to a price..i do the job..they love it...but then give me a b or c on price??"
Rogo is obviously a very skilled handyman/craftsman. He returned my call immediately and came to do the work promptly. The price was very reasonable. I will definitely use him in the future.
I needed to have two shed doors custom made for my outdoor sheds. One of these sheds also had considerable water damage to the entire lower edge. Mark constructed two replacement doors that are just perfect and replaced all of the water damaged materials so that the shed looks as if it was originally that way. I just love how beautiful the sheds now appear ! He then installed two vinyl screen doors on my back porch. Again, this was a custom job as the opening needed to have additional wood installed in order for the installation to be correct. I am so pleased with how these doors look.
I will hire Rogo's Handyman Service again as he is very talented, professional and pleasant to deal with. The cost of my repairs was in line with what I expected to pay. It was nice to finally find someone who returned calls and emails and did exactly what he said he would do.
It is obvious that Mark enjoys what he does and takes pride in a job well done.
