"A Cut Above many other Contractors! We had needed brick pointing done on our home for a few years. We are also in the middle of a renovation project for our game room and that included the installation of a sliding glass door where a window was. The door install required that a steel lintel be moved up to accommodate the height of the new door. We were very fortunate that we called Michener Chimney and Masonry to come and have a look. They came out in a timely fashion and gave their estimate to us in just a few days. Once we agreed to get the work done, Jim and his team from Michener began the work quickly. He had a crew of 5 that worked 6 days on removing an old rotten wood retaining wall, cutting it up and disposing of it, excavating a massive hill to add more flat space to the yard, and putting up two retaining walls with french drains. The crew arrived very early each day but were not loud, waiting until well into the morning to begin louder tasks like cutting the blocks. He was able to answer all of our questions and walk us through different options, while being mindful of our budget. Just to highlight what all he did to repair our chimney. A safe working platform was erected. The old cap was removed and the brick was demoed to the flashing. All the brick was cleaned and relayed in tinted mortar to match existing masonry. A new crown was installed with custom stainless steal cage. The chimney was washed cleaned and sealed all debris were cleaned up and scaffolding was removed. We were so happy with the results. We would absolute hire him again."
