Michener Chimney and Masonry

A Cut Above many other Contractors! We had needed brick pointing done on our home for a few years. We are also in the middle of a renovation project for our game room and that included the installation of a sliding glass door where a window was. The door install required that a steel lintel be moved up to accommodate the height of the new door. We were very fortunate that we called Michener Chimney and Masonry to come and have a look. They came out in a timely fashion and gave their estimate to us in just a few days. Once we agreed to get the work done, Jim and his team from Michener began the work quickly. They were professional and friendly and did a wonderful job on all of the aspects of the project. Communication with them was easy, clear and accurate. We would highly recommend anyone needing brick or masonry work to use Michener Chimney and Masonry. These masons destroyed my gutters in the process of replacing chimney. When emailing them photos of the bricks in the gutter, asking them to return and clean it out, I received no reply. They were very destructive to my home. Their masonry work was very good, but the lack of consideration for the consequences of mortar and coal dust in the house and furnace that vents through the chimney they replaced caused innumerable problems that were very costly and damaged the health of those living inside. Awful.

Jim was fantastic they did an excellent job would of given 6 stars if I could of. His price for what I had done was very reasonable. Jim even did a couple of other things for me that I hadn’t discussed with him beforehand. Very very pleased would recommend highly.

Jim provided some re-pointing on my parents red brick house. He was extremely patient, worked within their schedule, cleaned up after himself, and did an amazing job from start to finish. Our next door neighbors liked his work so much while he was doing our house, that they hired him to help re-point their house as well. Most everything he repaired blended seamlessly to original house. Jim was laid back and no hassle to work with and I would highly recommend his company to anyone.

Jim and his crew did a great job removing old blocks and building a new porch base. They finished the job earlier than estimated. I'll hire again when I'm ready for the next project.

I was very pleased with every aspect of Jim Michener's work. The work itself was beautifully executed. He and his crew were responsive to my needs. They were punctual, courteous, and completed job in timely fashion. I am fastidious about my property and want everything to be clean and look good. So....they did left it in great condition....even went the extra mile and cleaned off the roof. I would definitely recommend Jim....I trust him to do a good job and u should too!

Jim was great to work with. He returned my original call, showed up on time to do the estimate, let me know how long it would be until he could start the job (4-6 weeks), was able to do the job within the time frame (4 weeks), and completed the job on time. I was not home when the work was started - and Jim was professional in calling to explain what was done and that part of the flue also needed to be replaced. At the end of the day the work site was neat and cleaned up. A true professional that is a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend him.

Jim, the owner, was on the job working and it shows that he takes great pride in his work to ensure total customer satisfaction. Jim and his crew were professional and courteous. Pricing was fair considering the scope of work and time needed for the job. Cleanup after job completion was perfect. I cannot say enough to express my total satisfaction with Michener Chimney and Masonry. Like with many jobs, scope can change with additional items (initiated by the home owner) as the job progresses. Jim was extremely fair with price adjustments during the job with clear and concise communication. It is not often that you find a real gem for a Contractor like this. I am considering some additional masonry work later this year, and they will be my first choice!

He did an excellent job. He was reliable and had a nice crew. He even finished a day early and showed up when he was supposed to. I would highly recommend him and would use him again.

Jim and his crew showed up on time each day and worked quickly and professionally. He was patient as we re-scheduled a couple of times due to financial issues, but when the day came he showed up bright and early and did quality work. He and John were very friendly, they are very knowledgeable about their craft, and Jim even replaced the cap on our chimney at no extra charge when he saw it was the cause of water infiltration at the top. If we need further masonry done down the road we will definitely call Michener again, but according to Jim the chimney work at least should outlive him.
