An owner operated full service home contractor, focused on excellent craftsmanship and customer service. Ample time given for design and work estimates, and in home meetings with clientele. Boasting a carefully selected collection of precision tools, dust extraction systems, and LEED abiding practices, we hope to make the remodeling experience more palatable for both parties. With a working knowledge of the design and architecture of this old city, we offer expert work in historical restoration, as well as an aesthetically conscious integration of new into old. Offering a community of trusted sub-contractors, Price & Vaughn Company provides services from leaky faucets to complete home remodels. The primary number is Zane's. The secondary number is Jason's.

"Price and Vaughn agreed to pick up an exterior painting and carpentry job that had already been contracted to someone who failed to perform at the high level of quality that had been promised. We were impressed with their eye for detail, the professional business manner, their treatment of their employees, and the overall outstanding end product. We called them back for 2 other jobs, and will call them again without question."

Uncompromising quality and integrity in all of your precious metals purchases and sales. Specializing in gold & silver bullion. Avoid gold and silver retailers selling you their inventory at high premiums! We pay top prices for jewelry, sterling, diamonds and watches! Fisher Precious Metals is a national gold and silver dealer. Listed as a national dealer with the United States Mint, Fisher Precious Metals is a trusted resource for gold and silver coins and bars. Established in 1995, the firm works with individuals on all issues related to buying and selling physical precious metals, storage, security, estate liquidation and long-term exit strategies. John Fisher, the President, is an ICTA Board Member and is approved by the State of Florida to teach Continuing Education courses on precious metals investing to CFP's, CPA's, attorneys and insurance professionals. In addition, John is a frequent guest on various financial radio broadcast programs. Fisher Precious Metals is an A+ rated Accredited Business with the Better Business Bureau.

"It went great! We found Fisher Precious Metals on Angie's List, and after googling them, we found they had very positive reviews across the web. Although it was a 45 minute drive from our home, we felt it might be worth it, and it was. We made an appointment with John via email, arrived at 11:00, and spent just over an hour in his office. He evaluated the sterling silver set we had to sell and gave us what we felt was a very fair price. He'd given us an estimate on the value of the gold coins via email, and although the price of gold had fluctuated since he'd provided the quote, the final price was very, very close to the initial quote. We were happy to learn that they will also buy jewelry, as I have a few pieces I haven't worn in a very long time. We were very pleased with the entire experience and will definitely return to their company when we have gold or silver to sell, and we're happy to recommend them to our friends. One thing to keep in mind is that sterling silver sets are basically worth the price of the silver itself. We knew that going in, so we were not disappointed and, in fact, the price we received was a little higher than we'd expected."

Our mission is to provide you with a level of service and expertise that will support your estate and household liquidation needs. Jaye Wilkinson & Associates will attend to all details of your sale in a caring, reliable and professional manner. We ensure that your possessions are treated with care, and we strive to get the best possible price. Our goal is to make our client's life transition as easy as possible. We are insured up to $2,000,000. Jaye Wilkinson & Associates was voted favorite liquidator in the estate sale community; and won an Excellence in Marketing Award for being in the top 50 most viewed liquidators in the country. Additionally, I'm the only liquidator who has worked with the U.S. Attorney's office on many of their seizures. They don't utilize the services of any other liquidator in the Pittsburgh area. That, in itself, can attest to our honesty and integrity; We offer a free consultation and would be happy to meet with you.

"This is my review of mine and my husband's experience using this service. I read the reviews on Angie's List and contacted who turned out to be the owner, Jaye Wilkinson. We spoke over the phone for about thirty minutes and scheduled a meeting. During the phone call of which I took notes, Jaye stated that she had been successful in business for over 25 years selling items for people. She said all the right things - that people are very pleased with her services that she attracts 300-400 people at each of her estate sales. That she advertises "extensively." She spoke generally and positively about her sales and her customer's satisfaction. At the time of the scheduled meeting Kevin, her employee, arrived 45 minutes late. I believe he had an issue with his car that he could not help. For all subsequent meetings at our home Kevin/the team were never on time. Of all that occurred that is the least of my issues but it is a fact worth mentioning. In contradiction to Jaye, Kevin was a bit more honest about the sales. He said to expect that oriental rugs, valued between 15k-40k, "I have seen them sell for a few hundred." He did however reiterate that they have a following and with their advertising we should expect 3-400 people. He said they would place paper on our hard wood floors - although we were hosting the event in our large and open basement, there would be staff using the facilities in the main part of the home, which was not discussed and we were not prepared - those floors were never covered and were scuffed and dirty. Again, not my main issue, just mentioning. So hearing that they have a large base and hearing that they advertise, we trusted this company and went about organizing movers to physically help us to move three passed loved ones' homes into our basement for the sale, in which proceeds would go to our church. Between oriental rugs and better quality furniture, we anticipated to cover the cost of their services, the movers and maybe close to 1k to donate. Certainly with the often repeated, "300-400 following" one would expect a hearty sale. We paid the required 150.00, for advertising. The week of the sale, the team showed to arrange and price the items. I happened to be home from work on that day and was positioned with a direct view of the steps leading from the basement to the entrance to the home. Members of the team were all over our house - I would find them and nicely ask them to move towards the bathroom if that was what they needed - they talked down to me and were not professional. Members of the team were in the main part of the house at least every 25 minutes. I sent an email to the owner asking her kindly if going forward when her staff is present at the home to please have them limited to the kitchen if they needed water or ice or the bathroom but not the rest of the house. The response from Jaye was not like anything I have experienced in the professional world. She attacked me verbally, she threatened to stop the process of the sale, she told me off basically. This seemed to be a "red flag." With only days to the sale and now three deceased loved one's homes, in our basement, and this supposed "advertising" that was being done - as much as we wanted to stop the process we felt we needed to keep going. So my husband had a conference call with the owner and Kevin. Kevin spoke rationally and with Jaye stating that she did not want to continue - because I had expressed a concern about her staff - he encouraged her to continue. So prior to the sale I went into our basement to review prices. At no time did I see these small tiffany lamps that I knew I wanted to price a certain way, based on my own research. I started to think we had given them away as I could not find them. On the day of the sale I saw Jaye's daughter Michelle packing a box that she pulled from under a table. In the box were the tiffany lamps. I asked her what she paid - she said 10.00 each. I would never have priced them that low amount. But I did not have a chance to price them appropriately because they were hidden. So I said to Michelle, "so I guess we made 23.00 (she had another item she had priced at 3.00, also hidden in the box)." She did not respond. Actually Kevin told us there would be an inventory of what sold and for what price but at the end of the sale they gave did not give us an inventory. They did not give us any type of list of what sold or prices. We asked, they said they had something and would send it, they have not. I gave my email and actually saw that Michelle was keeping a notebook but she would not allow us to view it - she turned it away from us - and closed the book, promising we would receive a copy. We have not. Michelle handles the money and though she counted it and labeled the amounts she would not answer us as to how the sale was going or what amount was collected until the very end, once all of their tables and items were packed in their van and they were ready to depart. With both of us present along with one other family member we estimated about 50 people and a bulk of them were our neighbors who saw the one and only sign they had posted at end of our street. Actually, with the location of our home near a parkway, we could have potentially attacked many more, but they only placed one sign close to our home. We made 299.50. Also pertaining to the pricing, we were told that we could set certain prices but in the end and without our permission, Kevin let us know that he sold the view items that did sell for significantly lower than what I had on the list and on the price tag for him to sell. My concern is not so much about the amount made, it is about the lack of a comfort feeling. We were told specific things and in the end nothing of what they said was true. I know that businesses can hire company's to write reviews. Whether that is the case here, I do not know. Maybe there are hundreds of satisfied clients. Our personal experience was the very opposite of professional or trustworthy. We feel very taken."

Antiques and Jewelry Appraisals questions, answered by experts

The cost to appraise a home depends on the type. Common types include:

  • Single-family homes: $300–$400

  • FHA or VA single-family homes: $400–$500

  • Condominium: $300–$500

  • Multi-family home: $500–$1,000

  • Apartment building: $1,500–$3,000

  • Commercial properties: $1,400–$10,000

  • Raw land: $1,000–$8,000

Ideally, you’d never pay more than the appraised value for a home, but there are some instances where it makes sense to do so. For example, if your current living arrangements are no longer viable and you need a place to move into quickly, paying more than the appraised value might be in your best interest to secure a new home. Additionally, if you’re buying in a hot market, overpaying for the home might be necessary to overcome the competition.

A property valuation, sometimes called a comparative market analysis or CMA, provides a real estate expert’s opinion on how much your property will sell for. It takes many things into consideration, like the condition and location of the home, but ultimately, all that matters for a property valuation is what a buyer might be willing to pay for the property. An appraisal is more concerned with determining the value. A valuation is to estimate what you’ll get for a property, while an appraisal helps a lender establish loan-to-value ratios and loan amounts.

Mobile homes weigh anywhere between 45 to 50 pounds per square foot. Some newer options weigh up to 70 pounds per square foot. An average single-wide mobile home weighs 45,000 pounds, and a double-wide mobile home weighs about 70,000 pounds. Triple-wide mobile homes range from 90,000 to 100,000 pounds.

Installing a flagpole can improve your home’s curb appeal, so it will often have a modest positive impact on your property value. You’ll see a much larger bump in property value if you install a custom wooden flagpole than you would if you install a standard aluminum pole. Adding lighting to your flagpole will also have a positive impact on home value, as will trimming trees away from the new lawn addition.
