Great - professional and considerate.

JAB surpassed my expectations from the moment I walked in. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and fun to work with. I wanted a unique, one of a kind engagement ring. I first worked with Michael who spent a lot of time educating me on diamonds; which was very helpful and needed. Then Stephanie met with me to design a custom ring that turned out gorgeous! I can't leave out Debbie who made me laugh every time I was in and did the appraisal on the finished product. John was also very helpful in scheduling appointments and providing support through the process. I highly recommend JAB. It was a wonderful experience and I have a beautiful, one of a kind engagement ring that I'm sure my girlfriend will love.

Mike and team at JAB did an amazing job with my wife's ring. They we very patient with us as we worked through several possible ring designs. They were very helpful and presented us with many different options and we felt no pressure when making our decisions. JAB was wonderful throughout the process.  They took a amethyst necklace, one ring and two brooches and restyled them to more match my aesthetic.  My grandmother had a very different style than I, but JAB was able to understand what I was looking for and keep many elements that were important to my Nana while offering a look I love.  This is not an inexpensive process, but I am very happy with the quality I received.  They also back up their work - one of the necklaces came undone and they quickly rewired it for no charge.  I have plans to go back and get more pieces done.

My fiancee wants to get married with her grandmother's wedding ring.  I took it in, to have several cracks repaired, and to have the band thickened.  It had been worn thin over the course of 60 years.  The work was done quickly, and professionally.  While I was in the store, the staff treated me with promptness and courteousness that is the hallmark of top notch customer service.  The price to refurbish the ring was reasonable.  What I really appreciated, though, is that the staff took the time to educate me about the ring, and answered all of my questions.  They obviously know their subject very, very well.

Experience was very pleasant all around - staff was knowledgeable, professional and courteous; work was very well done; price was appropriate.  I had no previous experience with resetting jewelry and was not sure where to inquire, other than a jeweler.  The JAB web page was informative and helped me decide to stop in.  Although my project was not big in scope, I was welcomed as warmly as the couple next to me who were purchasing custom designed wedding bands for thousands and thousands of dollars. I intend to return for more services in the near future.

They were efficient.  They gave me a good, decent appraisal and it was correct.  I thought their price was a little high but I don’t know because I don’t have something appraised every day. 

I've been going to JAB Jewelery Designs for a couple of years now. My husband bought my engagement ring online and after looking for reputable local jewelers, they had the best reviews everywhere I searched. I've had nothing but great experiences with them. Every 6 months or so I stop in to get my ring replated. They usually estimate it will take a week or so and it's *always* been done a day or two early, which is great for any woman who knows how it feels to go ringless for a few days.
Most recently, I wanted to have my channel set wedding band tacked to my engagement ring so that it wouldn't slide around so much and so it would essentially be one ring instead of two. They listened to how I wanted the rings to to be positioned and did an absolutely impeccable job. You can't tell by looking at it that it is now one ring and I honestly can't even see where they tacked it together. As usual, I picked it up looking like new.
Outside of the services they've provided for my ring, I've also seen them work with other clients when I've been there and they are great. They are willing to order in specialty stones if they don't have them in stock, sit down to create custom pieces and sell a wide variety of gorgeous pieces. Many are very modern, but they also have very reasonably priced pearl necklaces and other more traditional pieces.
The staff at JAB is respectful, professional and very friendly. They sent my husband and I a card for our wedding and also send handwritten thank you notes after every service. I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a local jeweler who isn't associated with one of the big box variety. This is NOT a Jared or Kay's. You will find warm welcoming faces who will remember you every time you walk through the doors and you can be assured your most precious pieces of jewelery will be looked after and serviced with great care and skill.

All three people working there were enthusiastic about their work. I observed their attentive care of each customer. They all seemed knowledgeable about their craft , design and materials. I would use them again.

Two years ago, our garbage disposal chewed up a favorite antique ring. Because we are new to Pittsburgh, I was hesitant to take it just any place to be fixed. In fact, I wasn't at all sure that it could be fixed, it was so badly damaged. Finally, I turned to Angie's List for listings of jewelry repair. I went to JAB jewelers, which is a good half hour drive from Oakland. I regretted the distance, until I met the met the people who work there and was assured that the ring could be repaired. Not only did they do a spectacular job in repairing and restoring the ring, they did it in a very timely manner at a very reasonable price. From now on I will go exclusively to them for repairs and purchases.

Many other jewelry stores nearer but saw this business had a very positive rating on Angie's List. Michael was highly professional and personable. Very good at estimating value of ring. Price to enlarge it a full size was much lower than I expected. Ring was done on site and ready within days. I'm extremely pleased with the quality of work.

They are reliable, responsible, reasonable and real craftsmen.  My wife is extremely pleased.

The best of professional and personal service and design.

I provided the metal, JAB provided the wax cast which I selected. My stick pin has an extra special meaning as it was created from metal that I provided which had sentimental value.  In all truthfulness, I am uncertain of the date and cost, but I am VERY satisfied with the results.

I've done bracelet and stick pin with JAB and I look forward to another design experience with JAB. I'm thinking of a funky earring that can 'carry' beads and bobs for the next project.

It's SO nice to have a local jeweler to create to perfection what my mind creates!

I took in the original bracelet and scraps of this and that to provide the metal to create a duplicate. The scraps were broken and worn jewelry with sentimental value.  The duplicate that JAB  created is even better than the original.  The clasp is unique and blends in well with the design. It's a most definite improvement over the original.
