"We paid Basements Love Us $14000 cash to waterproof our basement and install a sump pump. Although a permit is required in South Orange for sump pump installation, Basements Love Us did not request a permit, nor did they obtain one from South Orange. The installed sump pump drains to our driveway. This is against Town Code, which mandates drainage to a dry well. Additionally, the sump pump runs NON-STOP. Our home is over a stream. We showed Mr. Kelly the stream. We showed Basements Love Us workers the stream. Mr. Kelly and your workers assured us that the sump pump would NOT run continuously. And yet it does."

After receiving a quote that was $70k over our budget, which he said he could work within our budget and would not provide a quote without deposit, we decided to back out. During the whole process Epic cancelled or rescheduled meetings at the last minute several times and was overall unresponsive. Epic the billed us double what they initially said would be the max. After much discussion they finally agreed to honor the original agreement. Since then, they have not sent any additional refund that was agreed upon and have stopped responding to communication. This was our first experience with a home builder and the worst experience I’ve had with any vendor of any kind. There are plenty of builder options, STAY AWAY FROM EPIC!!!"
