Tire Town

My son broke down with my truck, which needed a replacement battery. I spoke with Christian over the phone, since I'm over four hours away. He took care of my son and truck as if he was me, I admire the professionalism and quick service getting my son back to class, LOL. I definitely will recommend then again and again. Five stars. Thank You from over 250 miles away.

The car had been well maintained yet they found MANY faults. 

Several of the "necessary" repairs made no sense based my knowledge and upkeep of the car, so I was doubtful - this was my first visit, so I did not approve the work

Also, without approval, they replaced one of four tires with a tire that was different from the others - only one of four tires was replaced, and it did not match!



I was stuck with the tire but took the car to two other repair shops over the following week and both recommended minor repairs.  I pointed out to the second one the repairs recommended by TT and they disagreed.

This service was a simple swap of tires. Everything done on time and at an agreeable price with a friendly spirit.  Very professional front office staff (actually mostly owners) and mechanics staff when one pulls car into the service bay. All seem to care about the business and customers.  Over the past decade, or so, i have been very confident in this business. Tire Town has been a reliable automotive service provider that has very high integrity. This honesty is attractive and feedback each visit on vehicle condition is much appreciated. 
Not on this report visit, but years ago, i had a potential repair to high pitched squealing brakes on an older vehicle that could have been a full brake replacement based on my previous old car's experience. But Tire Town evaluated the situation and determined it was just 'dirt' that eventually wore off. I have so appreciated this honesty.

They were very prompt in getting our car in at the time scheduled and serviced it very quickly!

They used to have a fine reputation for service, but since the father passed away they seem to have a change of attitude.  Instead of appreciating the customer they seem to think that they are doing the customer a favor by working on the car.  My guess is that they have plenty of business and don't have to show appreciation or service.  The quality of work is still good, but price and courtesy are not.

These guys have been exceptional to deal with.  I bought winter tires from them last winter.  I got the ones that they suggested.  I drive a Prius and have a very steep and curvy driveway.  On the way to Tiretown, I was literally going down the driveways sideways at one point.  But after they put on the suggested tires, I made it back up my driveway with no sliding at all.  They know tires.  They are fast and always friendly.  They back up their tires with a warranty.  We looked at buying online and having them shipped to an installer and Tiretown's price was the same for comparable tires with much better service.  Highly recommended.

The service people are very courteous and only repair what needs to be repaired. No attempt to "gouge" you. Repairs are well done and the price is reasonable.

We couldn't have asked for better service or nicer people. When we were towed into Tire Town we had the usual apprehensions about being broken down in a strange city, and being over charged because you were at the mercy of the repair shop. But totally opposite events occurred. We knew before we arrived that it would be necessary to order the tires that we needed for the Z3 if it wasn't possible to repair the damaged tire and as it was late in the day, we didn't have much hope of being back on the road in a timely manner.



The crew at Tire Town immediately pulled the car in to check it out when we arrived and we knew very quickly that it could not be repaired.  At that point the manager was on the line checking to see when and where he could get us tires.  The price he quoted for a complete set was actually lower than we had paid about 4 years ago so we were happy with that.



As for the service, he told us that the tires could be in any time between 10 and 2 the next day so we were going to have to spend the night.  He recommended a new Fairfield Inn that was about a block away and we were able to get a reservation and just intended to walk over and check in.  At that point, he said he could give us a "loaner tire" so we would have use of the car for the evening in case we wanted to go out to dinner or look around the town.  Before we knew it, the loaner was on the car and we were off.  He called the next morning at 10 to tell us the tires we in.  We dropped the car off and almost before we could walk back to the hotel, he called to say that it was ready to go.  



When we arrived back at the shop it was out and ready to hit the road.  He told us that we should get an alignment but it wasn't urgent and we could wait and do it when we got home. 



All in all, the service and attitude of the group of people is excellent.  It could have been a horrible experience but instead they made every effort to assist us and get us back on the road in a timely manner.

JR and his crew are THE place to go in State College for quality tires and repairs.   When they call and tell you your car is ready it really is.   They get the job done right the first time and their service quality and customer service are second to none.   I've been a customer for years and always return for first rate repairs and the best in tires, balancing and alignment.   AAA+++

They are extremely friendly and very efficient.  They are very quick.  I can walk-in easily and they can take care of me.  They have a nice waiting room and have a good atmosphere.  They don't keep all kinds of tires.  I don't want to compare them with the online tire shops.

Completed promptly with friendly and courteous service. Great facilities.

I stopped out to make an appointment for my Nissan Murano because I knew I needed at least 2 new tires and probably 4 as well as an alignment.  I was helped right away by a gentleman who walked out to the car with me, examined the tires, and explained WHY I needed to replace all four.  Back inside he gave me several options with the pros and cons of each.  I made my choice and made an appointment for the following week (earlier times were available, I worked around my schedule).
Dropped the car off first thing in the morning -- again there was someone to greet me and tell me I was expected.  Received a call stating that the ball joints needed to be replaced, that's probably why my alignment went so bad.  Gave me an estimate of the cost.  Received another call when it was done with the final amount due (estimate was spot on).
Everyone I came in contact with was very pleasant and professional.
