I am stunned by the professionalism, honesty and transparency, the depth of their skill and knowledge, and the downright far more than reasonable charge for their service. I had a tankless water heater replaced. It took me weeks until I got to Jeff and WHIAH, so many people gave me the runaround, not following through even on a quote, suggesting absurd costs like $3K+ for labor. In the United States, a depth of 36 inches (three feet) for underground water lines is the accepted industry standard. This depth varies from location to location based on local conditions. In areas with colder winters, they may be buried deeper to prevent frozen well water pipes : This is usually at least six inches below the frost level. Brown stains in your toilet bowl are most likely limescale. Limescale happens from lime being left behind from hard water evaporating. To remove thick and hard limescale from your toilet, use a mixture of vinegar, lemon juice, and baking soda, and scrub with a metal scrubbing brush.

A sewer cleanout typically looks like a white or gray PVC pipe with a removable cap. It's often located either in your yard or basement, depending on your home's plumbing configuration. The cleanout pipe is designed to provide easy access to your sewer system for maintenance and inspections. It may be flush with the ground or slightly elevated, making it distinguishable from other pipes. When you remove the cap, you can access the sewer line directly or determine its direction, which can be helpful when you need to locate your sewer line from your house to the street.

Be sure to consider how often you may need access to your pipes in the future. This can help you decide if you want to install a basic PVC backflow preventer or spring for a clear or removable one. 

If you think you’ll need access to your plumbing often, or if your pipes have a history of problems, it’s probably worth spending a little more for something you can look into without removing the backwater preventer.
