Best plumbing experience we've ever had.

He was on time, he had everything he needed with him and it only took him a little over an hour to fix the problem. He was thorough and he did a great job! The toilet was driving me crazy and it made me worry but now I am happy with the results of getting my toilet fixed! Phillip Schafers prices are very reasonable and I highly recommend him.

He did an awesome job, we're really happy. He was super professional and we've had an emergency situation and he gave us a great price.

Work was done timely and efficiently. I recently moved into my house and had issues with my washer drain from the first week. Phil came out right away to assess the situation and was able to get me back and up and running in no time. He is knowledgeable, honest and priced fairly. I am relieved to have a trustworthy plumber I can call.

Phil gave serious thought to the magnitude of our project, needed pressure testing, meeting with the plumbing inspector, and explained that it could take 7-10 business days depending on his emergency calls.  He was very upfront about how he planned to complete the job and his availability (I like realistic planning).  The plumbing inspector was impressed by his work, and passed us without hesitation.  ANYONE involved in a renovation project should call Phil -- we will use him again in the future.

It went fast, very fast and the work is good.  Very efficient.  I only had to take off 1 HR from work and I thought it might be all morning originally.

Phil was prompt and very professional. When needed, he brought an additional licensed plumber,not just a helper, to finish the work in a timely manner. All his fresh water connections used compression fittings. No solder. He made improvements to a 60-year old basement laundry installation that also improved my ability to turn off water to the kitchen and laundry, something that previously required shutting off the water mains. This was a lot of work, including replacement of old pipe, valves and drains.

All of the new equipment, kitchen faucet, water filter, slop sink and faucet, were purchased by me. The kitchen equipment included newer technologies, which Phil had no problems installing. Phil supplied everything else and charged a fair price.

I felt that the bill was fair and properly priced.

The water filter included a flow-metering unit to determine when to replace the filter. The flow device itself used cheap fittings and there was a small leak. (I read other complaints on the filter manufacturer's website). Phil returned promptly and addressed the issue. He did not charge me to address the issue, which, as I noted, was a defect in manufacturing of something I specified and bought.

Very pleased with outcome, service level and price. We will likely use Phil again to remodel a bathroom.

Quick response and the issue was fixed within one of hour of the service call.   The hoses were replaced properly and the owner/his team were extremely responsive to our emergency situation.  He did a great job providing speedy and professional service.

Philip Schafer responded immediately to our emergency situation of a frozen pipe.  He performed an excellent job, saving us a lot of damage.  He was prompt, professional and very knowledgeable.

Phil the plumber was very good at coming to our house on short notice, fixing our immediate problem so we could go ahead with a held up installation. He was very personable, polite, and willing to share his experience regarding alternatives for future work, without "selling" it.

Philip was great! More than punctual, squeezed us right in, explained what he did, also told me why a few of my requests were un-necessary. Very polite, very prompt, very efficient, very reasonable. This is the second time Mr. Schafer has helped us. He recently installed some hot water heater at a rental property in Bridgeport. My husband was impressed, which is not so easy to do. He is our plumber from now on!!

Originally, he was prompt, professional and seemed to be reassuring of his quality of work. His cost for a new, identical unit turned out to be the highest of anybody around. That being said, he offered us a "scratch and dent" unit. Even that unit was well overpriced, but we were stuck and he knew it. Since it was just him, I begrudgingly assisted in getting the new, extremely heavy hot water tank down into the basement despite recent back surgery. The hot water heater was installed that day and offered a price cut if we paid in cash. Since it was past 4pm, I asked him if I could drop it off to him on my way home from work the following evening, since he's just a neighborhood over. He agreed since he could not remove the old one until he had help the next day. The next morning, he was at our house at 10am yelling at my mother-in-law who was watching our 2 young children and our new infant while we were at work (yes, actually yelling) at her that his family is going down the shore and he needed the cash right then and there, not at the end of the business day. He yelled and threatened my mother-in-law, calling us awful names until she was literally in tears. Mind you, he still hadn't removed the old tank, but that was because he had no help. Hysterical, my mother-in-law went to her bank with 3 kids in tow, withdrew the money out of her account and delivered it to his front door. He half-heartedly apologized for his behavior saying that he was stressed over his family vacation. I came home from  work by 6pm, was filled in on the entire day's events and had contacted him immediately since he wanted to bring his personal life into his business life, I had no problem calling him on his vacation. Of course, he did not answer. He did not call back, and never came to remove the old tank (minus the copper rod he took for scrapping). I have never seen/heard such unprofessionalism, making personal attacks on our character and flat out bullied a senior citizen into paying him ahead of our agreed time to meet so he could leave for his personal vacation ahead of schedule. Absolutely unacceptable, and I spread the word to everyone and anyone local who has asked for a reference of a good plumber. Tread cautiously if you contact him!

Phillip was very punctual, he identified the problem and addressed it quickly.  Phillip was able to save me money on future repairs.

Philip Schafer came to my house and introduced himself.  He is soft spoken and calming.  He fixed the shut off valve and explained why it failed and was very kind.  He was here and gone in about 20 minutes but when he left I understood what was going on and will have him come for future projects instead of doing it myself.

It went GREAT. Mr. Schafer is the best. Very personable, and professional. He had to work on basement, and 2 upper rooms, and you didn't even know he was here. I would definitely recommend him.

When this happens I would like to thank Angie’s List because I found somebody that actually doesn’t mind in making intelligent improvements.  I haven’t had the bill yet but it is probably going to be okay.  He is very personable.  He is reliable.  He calls you back.  He just has a way about his personality that nothing seems to be complicated and that is rare.  He walks you through and talks about it before he actually does the work.  I did not get an impression that it is going to be a deal breaker.
