When the technician did arrive, I walked him through the project. It consisted of two parts, floating and tapping a bar area just a bit larger than a single sheet of drywall and patching some water damage along a wall by replacing the first 4-5" of drywall. This patching amounted to about 8-10 linear feet along the floor. When the supervisor arrived we walked thought the project again. The supervisor asked the technician about the tools he was using (he had already started to patch one section of the wall) then asked for the nearest home supply store. Since I had the 10" knife they were looking for, I lent them mine, along with cutters for the edge bead and a utility knife to cut the drywall. The supervisor then asked about floor protection and helped me move a table and lay down drop cloths and boards to protect the floor.
They also discussed using a 20 minute mud so that they would at least be able to sand and cover the scratch coat during this visit.
Before the supervisor left, we discussed the scope and it was clear to me that completing the skim coat and sanding in two hours would be a challenge, so we discussed what would happen if he went over. The supervisor also stated that he had to go way south, but would drop back by and I was to call him before the two hours were up to discuss the progress.
As the two hours were up, the tech had patched about 4' along the floor and floated part of the bar area. I called the supervisor who asked me to find out how long the remainder would take. I relayed the answer of one hour and authorized them to continue.
At the end of the third hour I checked on the progress and found that there was over four feet of patching that had not even been started (old drywall still in place). I asked for that to be completed and went back to work.
As the fourth hour completed I noted the following:
The patching was still not complete, leaving another 12-18" of broken old drywall in place
In the bar area the screw holes had not been mudded
The edge bead along the end of the bar had not been installed
Seeing that the work requested was not being done and the work that was being done was questionable, I called the supervisor and left a message on his voice mail. He did call back about 10 minutes later, however I could not get off the call I was on, so I had to call him back. That call went to voice mail again.
Rather than allow more questionable work to continue, I asked that the screw holes and edge bead be addressed while I waited for a call back. When one never came, I let the technician leave.
After his departure I found a corner where the tape was run down to about 5" off the floor and then cut off, with nothing to seal in that corner.
When I finally did get a call, it was four hours later and from the office staff. I expressed my concerns and sent over two pictures. Someone named David emailed back asking for more pictures and for me to call him.
I sent an additional five pictures of the work and called David.
David asked what the problem was because the pictures "look good" with "straight lines" and "not too much mud"
When I was able to explain and point out the un-finished corner I was told "he just didn't get to it" and my question about why the technician would stop installing the drywall patch to go apply mud somewhere else was not answered.
When I asked about the corner that was not taped, I received a long explanation on how it never shows because "everyone uses 6" baseboards anyway".
When I pointed out that the technician had to be asked to cover the screw holes, and to install and mud the corner beads I was ignored.
Based on this progress with David I decided that IBC was not a company I would want doing work in my home again. I asked for my invoice for the work done and ended the conversation.
Two days later, while completing the patching, it was discovered that a section of patch was installed by wedging it in place and plastering the patch to drywall that was crumbling from water damage. No screws were uses to attach the drywall to the furring in place.
In summary, great job scheduling, scary job installing, iffy supervision, and a complete whitewash of my concerns.
I would have given an F for Professionalism if not for the office staff I worked with.

Came back with more the next morning and checked on process every business day til complete. In the meantime, they brought flooring samples to my house to order. They completely tore out hardwood flooring in kitchen and additional plywood for vinyl flooring replacement. They also moved all my bedroom and kitchen appliances out and stored in my garage. (That was awesome! I didn't have to find some one to do that and pay them) My house is nearly all vinyl so they stripped all vinyl, sanded twice(by hand) and replaced vinyl. When complete they moved all my furniture and appliances back where ever I wanted them placed. They were punctual and all workers and office staff were very courteous and professional. The lead on the job kept in constant contact with me as to progress and if I had any concerns. I would definitely recommend this company! FAQs for floor sanding projects in La Pine, OR
The cost to refinish hardwood floors is $1,900 on average, ranging from $600 to $4,500, depending on the area size, the floor’s condition, the type of wood, the type of coating, and the refinishing method. Traditional refinishing includes sanding the floors, which can be very dusty and costs about $3 to $8 per square foot. Dustless refinishing uses a vacuum to collect dust during the sanding process, reducing the amount of dust produced, and costs about $5 to $8 per square foot.
You should aim to hire a professional floor cleaner once or twice per year to remove any set-in stains, resolve scratches, and make your floors look shiny and new again. If you have a bustling household with many children, pets, or severe allergies, having your floors cleaned four times per year is worth the investment to maintain the integrity of your flooring. Don’t forget to prioritize cleaning your floors yourself in between professional cleanings, too.
The cost to install hardwood flooring is about $4,800 on average, ranging from about $1,000 to $12,000. Nationally, the average cost to install hardwood floors ranges from $6 to $12 per square foot for labor and materials. High-end woods and large spaces may cost $13 to $25 per square foot.
Additional cost factors include:
Square footage of the area
Type of wood
Preparation requirements
Type of finish
Location
Floor style and pattern
Plank thickness
Wood grade, color, and grain
It’s time to refinish your hardwood floors when they show signs of age that diminish their overall appearance and function. A few surefire signals that you should consider refinishing your hardwood floors include:
Gouges, scrapes, deep scratches, and dents over a significant area
Discoloration from stains or sun exposure
Water damage causing rotting, warping, or bowing
Weak, spongy, or soft spots in the floor indicating damaged subflooring
Dull and worn appearance across most of the floor
The cost for professional floor cleaning is $250 on average. This cost can range from $100 to $1,500, depending on the type of flooring and its square footage.
For example, natural stone flooring requires specialized techniques and care, so you'll spend closer to the higher end of the cost range. The cost of cleaning tile and grout is more cost-effective, where you'll pay an average of $0.50 to $3.50per square foot.
