"The new fence insulation went better than expected, and the final result was higher quality than I had imagined. Mike was very easy to work with, responsive, professional, good communicator and on time. The home that he installed the new fencing was a rental and we had to deal with multiple owners, which went very smooth. Also, the tenants complemented him as being very courteous and professional. I look forward to working with Mike again. I would highly recommend, five stars."

"Went well. Finished quickly once started, but some delay in starting due to their busy schedule. They did a good, careful job and cleaned up nicely afterward. The door refinishing turned out to require redoing, and they returned promptly and spent a lot of time getting it just right."

"Very nice job.  Jim & his crew spent one day power washing & cleaning the decks & railings .  He was back in a couple days to re-stain them.  Although the initial estimate didn't include any major sanding, because the cleaning was unable to remove some "growth" in the wood, Jim decided to sand the decks at no additional cost.  He finished by applying a nice coat of "Super Deck" stain.  He also cleaned & stained a small fence enclosure in a corner of the back deck at no extra cost.
Jim & his crew were very professional.  He was punctual (called to confirm time, etc) & cleaned up after themselves. He charged what was in the estimate, despite doing the extras like sanding & the fence boards.  We thought the cost was very reasonable compared to other estimates we had received.  We are very satisfied with the way the decks turned out & would recommend Jim & Billionfold Paint Co.to anyone needing deck maintenance."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

For fencing projects in La Pine, knowing your property’s volcanic soil composition is crucial, as it affects post anchoring and long-term stability. Confirm exact property lines and look for irregular lot shapes common in the area. Consider mature ponderosa pines, local wildlife paths like deer trails, and fire safety zones. Also, check for underground utilities and how your land’s slope may impact fence installation.

Helpful?

After your fencing project in La Pine, keep copies of all permits, inspection approvals, and a property survey marking the new fence line. Save any warranties for materials or installation, before-and-after photos, and proof of utility clearance. If your property is part of an HOA, retain their written approval. Maintain a record of recommended fence maintenance and your contractor’s contact details for future reference.

Helpful?

Quality fencing in La Pine means posts are set well below the frost line to prevent shifting during freeze-thaw cycles. Look for consistent post spacing, fence panels that follow the land’s contours, and use of materials suited to the high desert climate. Proper fence installation also includes attention to drainage for snowmelt, clean property lines, and visible adaptation to local wind and wildlife challenges.

Helpful?

Many La Pine homeowners underestimate how volcanic soil affects fence post installation and the need for proper permits, even for smaller privacy fences. Seasonal weather can shorten installation windows, and existing features like wells or septic systems may require fence layout changes. Planning often overlooks wildlife movement, fire safety requirements, ongoing maintenance, and the importance of discussing plans with neighbors to avoid disputes.

Helpful?

Fencing in a typical La Pine home helps keep elk and deer out of gardens, secures pets and livestock, and provides privacy as neighborhoods expand. It also acts as a windbreak against strong high desert gusts, helps manage snow drifts, and clearly marks property lines. Additionally, fencing can create defensible space for wildfire protection and reduce unwanted encounters with local wildlife.
