I hired Stephen to lay sod in my backyard and out of all contractors I met with he was by far the most knowledgeable, upfront and honest. He did a great job and had fair pricing. I would absolutely use Stephen again for any landscape project

Steve came back everyday, as he said he would, until the project was completed. He went out of his way to make sure the finished pole and wire fence and gates looked and worked perfect. He communicated with us daily and was a pleasure to work with.

Steve removed sod and built a picket fence for us. Steve was always here when he said he would be and kept us informed about his schedule. He made sure to understand what we wanted and followed thru. He was very considerate and kept the workplace neat. We would use Steve again for future projects.

Based on what I learned about installing sod on the internet he did everything right. Of all the contractors I used over the past 10+ years living in this town he is by far the best! If you pass this guy up your making a big mistake.

Stephen & Chris are very friendly & easy going. It was a pleasure to have them work on our project. Our garden is densely planted. Because of it they hand trench 98% of the system. Part of the project entailed trenching through a flag stone pathway. They took great care cleaning each area making it appear as if they weren’t there. Stephen planned an irrigation system layout that exceeds the needs of our plants & shrubs as requested.

First I want to qualify my 4.5 rating for quality. My system was installed last Fall and I have not actually used it yet thus the 4.5. Once I have used the system, I hope that I am able to upgrade the rating to a 5. Stephen installed a sprinkling system last Fall and completed the job as promised. He also went the extra mile and spread some bark for me after marking out some flower beds. He was easy to work with and followed through with what he said he would do. I appreciated his willingness to add to the original planned job. I plan to use his services in the near future for landscaping.

The Good: He communicated well initially and did clear most of the plant growth and debris as he contracted to do. The Bad: He had bid "not-to-exceed" a fixed amount; when it seemed to him that finishing the work would require more time than he had budgeted, he tried to convince me that I should pay extra to hire heavy equipment to remove English ivy, then suggested he use a herbicide on it. I agreed, but he left the site and did not return to do this. The Ugly: A few days later, inspecting the cleared area, I discovered the remnants of a tree trunk and a log that had not been removed. By that time I had realized that dead ivy would still need to be removed. I asked him not to use poison but to return to complete the terms of our contract. He argued that he was intending to come back in dry weather to apply herbicide, and since I had paid him I had accepted completion for all other obligations. When I persisted, he responded with a combination of threats and rationalizations. Bottom Line: When they want to work, they get a lot done. But if you decide to use them, first make a contract to describe the desired work and the details of compensation. If time is a factor in your greement, you should log their time yourself. And, of course, make no payment until you have had the work completed and are satisfied they have fulfilled all terms of your agreement.

I hired Stephen to take care of my kids new home. He did an outstanding and honest job! Removing the old , destroyed front and back yards, finding and replacing the non working sprinkler system, replanting some fruit trees and bushes. Stephen removed the old grass, found and was able to reuse most of the old sprinkler system (he even found part of the neighbors sprinkler system that was installed past the property line way before the fences went up!). The new sod looks great, sprinklers work as advertised, and he readjusted the bill for the unused parts and labor. Stephen and his crew will be back in the spring to replace several damaged fruit trees and bushes. Thank you Stephen for a Job Well Done!

I had a fantastic experience working with Stephen. He repaired an existing lawn sprinkler system in the front yard, installed a new system in the back, and tore out our weed farm in the front yard and laid down seed after tilling in good soil. Throughout the process Stephen was super easy to get a hold of, kept me informed of what was happening and when, and was really patient in curing my ignorance of how to operate my irrigation system. He really went the extra mile. When any lawn or irrigation work comes up in the future I definitely plan to use him again.
