Description of Work: Some pros: |They were fast - tear down in a day, then 3 more days to do the full install. | |Looks good - we gave him some direction on what we wanted but let him take creative license in implementing, and it looks good. | |Open to critique - if there were things we weren't happy with, or wanted him to change, he was willing to fix/change it. | |Windows were all flashed well with drip caps in the right places. | |Everything was sealed with good quality sealant. | |Repaired damaged areas where necessary with minimal added cost. | |Cheapest bid. | | | |Cons: | |The housewrap could have been taped and put up a little more carefully for a better seal. He didn't tape horizontally so the Tyvek warranty won't apply based on inadequate installation. | |Some of the last finish work was rushed. These are mostly details, but for example I asked him to add a couple of holes for exterior light fixtures, and the holes were a little sloppy which required more clean-up work than necessary on my part to the junction box to fit right. | |Up until he started, communication was a little dodgy due to his working on multiple other jobs. | |He does not warranty his work the same way the "official" hardie plank installers do (25 year) - I think he only has some mention of 1 year + manufacturers warranty. |Cheapest bid.
