"Just had our kitchen remodel completed by them and couldn’t be happier! Job was done in the estimated timeframe and on budget. Stan was great to work with. He made great recommendations when we were unsure or stuck on something, and kept us well informed on timing and any issues that came up every step of the way. He and everyone he brought in were very professional and worked hard to get the job done. We are already planning to have more work done by them in the near future. Highly recommend."

"We were in a bind with no A/C and the 95 degree days so Jim at Revival gave me some things to try to get it working and scheduled a time to fit us in before their workday. When we found we needed new equipment, he fit us in within a couple of days. He made us feel that we were their top priority."

"Team arrived around the time estimated with a call one hour ahead to advise that they were on their way. The particular job with replacing the ceiling exhaust fan wasn't an easy job due to the construction of my lower unit condo but they were able to work around all the obstacles to successfully install the replacement fan. Installed and tested the ceiling exhaust fan and thermostat to be sure that all was working correctly. Performed their job efficiently and in the time estimated and kept everything tidy. Cleaned up well after the job was done."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, most designers tailor plans to fit your budget. Discuss financial constraints during initial consultations.

You have three options in terms of professionals who can draw up blueprints: a draftsperson, an architect, or a structural engineer. A draftsperson can sometimes draw up plans for new construction, but they more often work from approved plans for alterations or to provide 3D drawings. Architects are usually the best option for standard residential construction projects. Structural engineers might be necessary for custom home builds or for alterations that could affect your home’s structural integrity. Draftsmen cost the least of the three, followed by architects and then structural engineers.

Yes, you can draw your own deck plans in many cases. However, you must know your local building codes and be familiar with carpentry principles. Even then, it's always best to run your plans by a professional contractor with experience building decks, whether you choose to DIY some of the build or not.

Most towns and cities have regulations regarding sign dimensions for businesses. If you're opening a new business, contact the town or city's local zoning board to see the specifications you need to follow when getting your sign created. There may also be rules regarding how high your sign can sit. Be sure to learn about specifications before having your sign made. Sign companies generally won't offer refunds once custom signs have been fabricated.

Custom homes can take an average of 18 months to build, mainly due to the lengthy design process, and most projects take somewhere between 12 and 24 months. When you work with the right custom home builders near you, they can help you map the road ahead and understand what can speed up or delay the timeline. Choosing locally available materials, for example, can speed things up without losing that customized touch.
